Walking into the Petco on Wiles Road always gives me the strange feeling that somebody stocked about 70% of the store and then got called away mid-shift. The front of the store feels oddly sparse. Not empty exactly... just unfinished. Wide spaces, lighter shelves, and a vibe that somehow lands somewhere between "we're restocking" and "grand opening coming soon." Every single time I walk in, I have the same reaction: "Huh... this place feels a little off." And yet, I keep coming back because somehow they always end up having what I need. Once you make your way deeper into the store, the experience changes completely. The back half is loaded. Pet food stacked high. Toys everywhere. Beds, treats, leashes, tanks, scratching posts... the inventory suddenly goes from "minimalist pet boutique" to "warehouse for spoiled golden retrievers." And honestly, the convenience factor here is huge. Need food? They have it. Need toys your dog will destroy in eleven minutes? Covered. Need vet services without planning your entire week around it? They've got that too. The employees have always been perfectly fine to deal with and the store gets the job done. That's really the best way to describe this location: it gets the job done. But there's something about the overall atmosphere that never fully clicks for me. It's hard to explain. The store isn't dirty. It isn't poorly run. It isn't bad. It just always feels like it's missing something invisible. Like the retail equivalent of a sentence that almost finished its thought. In the end, it's an average experience. Convenient, functional, dependable... but never quite memorable. Three stars. read more

If I could have left 0 stars I would have.. to begin I'm new to the area literally a week in coming from the Hallandale location Petco so I was excited to try this one you know a new area and such. Anyway I always buy the 40 pound purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach, I didn't see it on the shelf so I looked around to see if anyone can help because online said it was in stock. I did see this white guy with a man bun and a ear pod in his ear (weird for being at work) sorting through things but wasn't sure if he worked there as he looked like a customer he didn't even bother to notice me or ask if I need help like they do at other locations so I made my way to the register. There was a short black girl who was super sweet and said yes it was in stock after the double checked inventory I then followed her towards the back. She said she thinks she sees it but couldn't reach so then she proceeded to ask that guy that I seen who in fact did work there. After waiting 2 min mind you they never went to the back atall cause I was standing in front of the door she comes to me and says yeah we actually don't have it . And I said are you sure you just said you did and she goes yeah we don't I'm sorry. Annoyed as I was I got a smaller bag (I have 2 dogs btw) i go to the register and that same guy with the man bun just had a nasty attitude slamming boxes frustrated because some fell as he was taking some out. I'm 100% sure that dog food was there and he just didn't want to help her get it and she probably didn't want to get yelled at by him. An excited little errand run actually ruined my night and I will not be returning. I work in retail so I understand but wow the customer service was just not it at this location. This is for the Petco website and NOT this particular store. Received email with special code offering a discount of 30% (?) or some number if I resumed autoship. This email had a time constraint to resume the Autoship by sometime in June. I went to their website and resumed autoship and set delivery to July 25th. The site advised I would be charged around $90 for the purchase. Today I was thinking of moving the date closer, went to the order, and was surprised to find that the discount had been removed. Called customer service and they had no clue. Anyhow, make sure to take screenshots of your order when working with this company. I did not unfortunately and cancelled my shipments as well as any future business with this company. read more

Had an appointment for 11am for 1st puppy visit and vaccinations. I got there at 10:51am and greeted by a very nice and energetic receptionist who told me about a 5 minute wait for a room. Wasn't sent to a room until 11:23am. At 11:49am no one came to the room but I saw 2 assistants walking around. A couple walked in with a dog but NO appt and BOTH drs went out to talk about 10 mins each time with the couple to advise that the dog need X-rays and to set up an appt for same day and they could see him at that time. No one ever came to see me and my pup and with the courtesy to say we will be right with you. I left as I don't want anyone like that seeing my pup. 1st impressions are very memorable and that was not a good one. read more

Been taking my 2year old toy poodle for grooming at the Pembroke Pines location her whole life. She loved it! Ran into the store! Unfortunately, since I have moved, I took her to the store in Coral Springs. My dog was terrified & jumpy for over 2 weeks because of how she was treated there. The groomer complained about how my dog reacted to the different things that were being done to her. She suggested I get my dog a tranquilizer before her next grooming!! read more

I had to drive 8 miles from the Petco in Deerfield Beach on Hillsborough Boulevard to Petco in Coral Springs 8 miles from my house in order to find my dog's prescription food. I don't even know why I bother to go to the one in Deerfield. It is 3 miles from my house because the shelves are always empty. I do have to say every time I go to the one in Coral Springs they're always fully stocked and if not, they go right back into the back room to find the dog food and will take time to get it out front to me thank God I'm done going to Deerfield Beach Petco. It's the worst if you need a pet supply store that is stocked Petco in Coral Springs is the way to go.! read more

I've generally had good experiences with Petco, but this recent situation was incredibly frustrating and has seriously shaken my trust in their service. I placed a same-day pickup order that was supposed to be ready within an hour. Instead, the order stayed in "pending" status the entire day until the store closed. When it was finally marked as ready the next day, half the items had been canceled--but I couldn't pick it up that day. When I went to the store the following day, I was told the order had already been marked as picked up and completed--even though I never received it. I was told to contact customer service for a refund, which led to a long series of phone calls over several hours. I was first promised a partial refund and store credit, including a promo credit I had used. That never showed up. I called again and was told it had been sent to the wrong account, and now I'd get credit without the promo. After more delays, I was eventually told they'd place the order again-but after multiple holds, they said they couldn't process it and just issued a refund to my bank. This all took over three hours and could have been avoided with proper order handling and ID verification. To make matters worse, the items that had been canceled were clearly in stock when I visited the store. Very disappointing. read more

I love their commitment to the community and animal welfare. I came in to purchase Fresh Pet which I have started feeding my dogs. They had a larger selection of fresh dog food than other stores in the area. Petco has a great selection of products and they give back to the community. I come here to buy crickets every week for my bearded dragon and I always have to go all around the store to find someone and ask them if they could help me in the front. This was my first time in this store. I have to say that considering it's a new location, it didn't feel very fresh or clean. It may be because they seem to have kept the existing flooring from when this was Sports Authority for many years. It just made the store seem dirty. Also the layout seems crowded and it was not easy to find what I needed. There were employees on the floor but nobody asked if we needed help so we just wandered until we found what we came for. They do have a very large selection of foods, toys, and beds. They had some turtles and lizards for purchase and a large aquarium section. The cashier was very courteous and check out was fast. It's ok. I'm sure you can find what you need plus more. Overall I guess I'm more of a Pet Supermarket kind of gal. Their remodeled new concept stores are quite luxurious and I like the rewards program better. read more

This store does not care about the animals. They only care about the money. They sold me a Uromastyx (lizard) that seemed to be in good health, but less than 30 days later, it began losing weight, despite doing everything correctly (I've owned them in the past with no issues). Petco has a policy that if something should go wrong within 30 days of purchasing one of their animals, they will take it to the vet, at no cost to you. So I did this. They call me about a week later and say he's ready to come home, so I pick him up and he looks worse than before. All the employees say he's been eating and behaving properly, but he's skin and bones, his eyes are shut, and he's bending backwards and no one knows why. They said that if I wasn't please with him, I did not have to repurchase him. But I felt they weren't taking proper care of him, so I bought him again and brought him home. 8 days later, he passed and yes I took him back to Petco for a return. I got nothing but attitude from the employees and they wouldn't get me a manager when I asked. All they care about is the money. Definitely disappointed about the business model Petco has chosen to use in their veterinary clinic. I made an appointment to see a licensed veterinary doctor to see my dog. I was greeted by a courteous and professional receptionist names Alyssa, she gathered some information weighed my dog and directed me to a room to wait for the vet. A few minutes later Ceaser the veterinary assistant came in to find out why I was there. He advised me that my dog would be taken to the back where he would be examined by the vet. I asked why the vet had not introduced himself and given their was an examination table in the room I wanted to know why did they wanted to separate me from my dog on his first visit. I told Ceaser no and that I wanted to meet the vet and ask some questions. Sometime later Dr. Jorth came in. He did a brief examination, he told me my dog had fleas and advised me to bathe him in Dawn and then the flea shampoo he was going to give him. He then left. Ceaser returned a few minutes later with an invoice with 3 different plans each over a thousand dollars. He started to explain the invoice when I stopped him and asked why the vet was not having this conversation with me. He looked puzzled. I then asked for the flea shampoo he had no idea what I was referring to.... Why was the assistant doing the vets job??? why did the vet think it was appropriate to send his assistant in to ask for over a thousand dollars yet he didn't have the shampoo I needed nor did he have any idea what I was talking about?? There was no one else in the waiting room how busy could that vet have been, that he couldn't complete an office visit with me, especially since he wanted $$$$$ Ceaser was awesome, courteous, and professional but he needs to investigate other professional opportunities where he will be paid appropriately for what he is required to do.... read more

I was an occasional Petco customer buying aquarium supplies for my saltwater tanks until I bought two Cleaner Shrimps and a Royal Gramma last week. As soon as I got home, I realized that the shrimps came with isopod parasites and I went to the store and they informed me that I didn't buy them there and that Petco's policy is not to be responsible for fish once sold. The same thing happened to me with the Royal Gramma since the associate who attended me had no idea how to handle and pack the fish because he mistreated it during handling. The fish died after three days. The store where I bought my fish is located on Willes Rd., Coral Springs, Florida. People, please do not buy from Petco because the employees have no experience or knowledge of the fish business. They just want your money, nothing else! Irresponsible! read more

Here is my experience with this vet office. I visited on Monday night for a routine check up of my one year old cat. They took blood as a routine and wrapped both rear legs telling me they had to pierce multiple veins in order to get blood samples, and to leave the bandages on. The following morning the cats feet were swollen, and the bandages could not be removed so I returned to the office to have them remove the bandages since they were wrapped too tight. I was told the cat was being difficult, he is a cat after all and they of all people should know how to handle that, and to leave him, and they would possibly give him a little gas to calm him down and remove the bandage once the blood pressure was reduced. I was told to just go get a coffee. About 30 minutes later I was called by the receptionist who told me that they were struggling with removing the bandages and that it would take a little more time and they would let me know when he is ready. Needless to say five hours later I contact them to be told by a nurse that he's relaxing in a cage and comfortable however, they haven't had time to remove the bandages as of 5 PM. that is a completely unacceptable answer, they had my cat for over six hours with a bandage that was squeezing his legs and causing blood to pool in his feet. The treatment of my cat was unacceptable and I will never return to this office. I do not recommend them for any service, they abused my cat and are abusive to animals. read more
