Chambersburg Petco is my number 1 choice when buying fish! I personally have 5 fish tanks at home and time and time again I find myself back at Petco buying fish. The customer service there is spectacular, Dustin whose the head of the fish department is very knowledgeable and knows what he's doing along with George and Hunter! I always go in with question and come out with an answer whether it's directly from them or they find out for me. They always have beautiful stock of fish in ranging Mollies and Guppies to Angels and Gourami's; they even have saltwater. Their tanks are always spotless with rarely ever having dead fish in their tanks! They have a nice small selection of live plants. Petco is the premier place in Chambersburg to buy fish! read more

I absolutely love this Petco. I stop here everytime I'm going through Chambersburg to check out the saltwater selection. Dustin and George are amazing at maintaining the saltwater section and are super friendly/helpful. I normally avoid big box stores when buying for my reptiles and fish, but the animals here are well cared for and Petco often has great deals. I've bought many fish and corals from here that have been thriving since the get go. read more

Clean and organized with everything needed for all sorts of pets. Sure, they have stuff for dogs and cats but there's also a good section for birds and rabbits and a corner of the store is dedicated to fish and other terrariums. I managed to find two gifts for my dogs. Well, the same gift twice because they get jealous if one's toy is better than the other's. read more

Nice new location in Chambersburg. Very open, clean and easily laid out. Plenty of signage to get where you want to go. They offer a nice selection of small animals, fish, pet supplies, dog and cat treats and everything pet related. The staff here is always helpful and friendly. They don't push unnecessary items or more expensive items on you that you won't need. read more

Retail prices are a little better than their competition but the pet groomer is consistent with gas station sushi. Don't waste your time and money. Pay the extra few bucks and go to Vintage Grooming. read more

I was in at Petco today and I was very disappointed at the lack of service, it was around 4pm there were 3 people up front, and we patiently waited for someone to come ask if we needed anything. We were greeted at the door and that was it. There were other customers as well who were looking at pets and was not approached either. When you see the employees taking to eachother and on there phones up front it really makes you rethink shopping there. It shouldnt be the customer's responsibility to walk up to the front of the store asking for help. I hope it changes I like buying our fish there, they care about there animals. read more

Very friendly staff there at the pet store always friendly and ready too help doesn't make you wait long for help. I've even talked to them multiple times over the phone asking for a kitten and I've bummed out a few times but got lucky this time around once they had moved to the new location. When I walked in gave them my name they automatically new who I was witch felt great. And I received my kitten well without any complications there she turned out beautiful and amazing no fleas, no ticks, or anything and wasn't neglected because you can see that she wasn't we brought her home and she is the happiest little one there and very playful and outspoken lol thank you thank God for that pet store I absolutely love it. Petco recently opened in Chambersburg, and I was there about a month or so after it opened. I just wanted to go in to have a look around. I felt it was laid out a little oddly, not as easy to navigate as PetSmart. I liked the litter refill station. Basically, you purchase a jug of whatever that particular brand is, then when it's empty, you bring the jug back and refill it from a big tub of the same litter and you pay a little less. The idea is to try not to be throwing away so many plastic jugs by offering a refill. I don't use clay litter, but it's a great idea for those who do and don't mind refiling. The small animals appeared to be in good health and care. As with most pet stores, their cages are too small, but the idea is that they find a home and aren't there for their entire lives. This Petco has cats up for adoption right as you enter the store. I always like to see pet stores supporting local shelters like that. It was not busy the day I was in there. I ended up making a small purchase. When I went up to the registers, the only cashier working was leaning back on her phone. She put it down as I walked up, but for a brand new store, they need to crack down on that fast. She seemed to be very bored. Surely they could find something productive for cashiers as they await customers. Oddly, I walked around the entire store stopping to look at stuff and never once saw an employee until I was ready to check out. No one appeared and asked me if I needed any help or anything. I gave my dog a good brushing a couple days before her grooming appointment. We keep her cut short and her hair was no longer than 1" at the time of her appointment. This was the second time this store charged me an add'l $7 to "detangle" a dog that had no tangles. I'm of the opinion that the groomers get a "cut" or "credits" toward what $ amount they bring in. At any rate, I will be looking for another groomer in the area. Anyone having any suggestions, please post. It is a very small store and I was a bit disappointed to not see any available workers out and about until I arrived at the register to pay. Even then, had to wait at an unattended cash register. I own a Samoyed. For those who aren't familiar, a Samoyed is a white, long haired dog with 2 coats. They shed a lot, and with the white fur are more susceptible to showing when they are dirty. I have been taking my Samoyed to Petco's Grooming Salon for years now. It's clean, the staff are friendly, and the price is right. There are many great groomers, but if you are going to the Chambersburg location I recommend Cathy! She does such an amazing job!!! read more

I've been a customer at this Petco since it opened. I always returned because of the excellent customer service I got from a young man who always was friendly and very helpful. I've been to the store several time in last week and he is not there. The rest of the staff doesn't seem to want to be bothered by customers. Very rude and don't assist me like the young man. I don't think I will be returning there since I'm no longer treated so kindly there. read more
