None of the snakes have proper husbandry. None of them have sure hides where they feel safe. They were also keeping two ball pythons in the same enclosure. All of the snakes seemed stressed. Nearly all the snakes were out at 6pm near the glass even though they are nocturnal animals. read more

It seems every time I go into that store no one is working. I went in once and there were two gals standing by a checkout line playing or texting on their phones. I don't think they even saw me walk in. There didn't seem to be anyone else there working. I got tired of waiting for help so I left. The last time I was in there was to do a water check for my fish tank, no one was around so I took my water out and used the stores tests to check my own water. Maybe next I'll just get my own fish out of the tanks and ring them up myself. POOR service. read more

I needed to have something in hand when I walk through the door for my doggies and so I stopped in to Petco to check out their dog treats. Lots of options, lots of choices. Prices ranging from cheap to expensive and then I found a bag with a dried turkey chew for under $8 and made in the USA. Sold! Many other goodies here from toys to leashes and a spectrum of foods. They clip their birds wings without any second thought to it, put multiple rodents that will fight with each other into the same enclosure, they have multiple snakes in the same tank (which they're lucky they're not cannibals), and also there were multiple malnourished hamsters. Overall, this "business" (or store location) was just not treating (or caring) for these animals the right way. If I could this review would be 0/5 stars. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would I'm a regular customer me and my mom both. We go in there today because my fog needed crickets I get back there I tell the girl I need some crickets I let her finish with the snakes she gets to me and asked how many I needed and I tell her I need 3 dollars work of large crickets again go there every time and they always do the math and get me in and out the girl had her kid with her and she was so rude I'm thinking about finding another place I can be a regular customer to since this isn't the first time they were rude (p.s the girl had colored hair). Always have a great experience there. Usually pop in for crickets for my Son's leopard gecko and always encounter a friendly face to assist me. I would give it no stars if I could. went in there three weeks ago to get fish and the lady was very rude every fish we picked out she told us no with no explication so we got tetras. we where just in there today and the so called manager Dori was so rude we picked fish and she said no to everyone again with no explination. I finally told her that we would go somewhere that would sell us the fish we wanted and she stated " then go to meijer they will sell you fish" I asked for a manager and she stated she was the manager and I asked for her boss she said call the corporate number she didn't care" I wasn't going to argue with her cause u has my three small kids with me and I walked out. i think that someone needs to send manager Dori to classes on how to deal with customers and customer service. read more

PSA don't get your dogs groomed at petco. I took my gsd Thursday to get a deshedding treatment & nail buff. When I picked him up his eyes, ears & mouth were swollen & when I asked the girl why she said it was because he was crying so hard for so long, right then I should've known something wasn't right but she claimed "german shepherds always stress too much" I noticed sunday he wasn't feeling well and he pushes away & cries everytime I touch his back . I took a flashlight and moved his fur around to realize he has scratches all up and down his back to where even the slightest touch makes him cry. They're giving me a refund that still doesn't make up for seeing my baby in so much pain. i took him back up there. They insisted on touching his back and tried saying it was a reaction to the shampoo. I said if it was a reaction it would be everywhere not just his back. When they touched him he literally flipped and screamed and hurt his foot to get away from them. They said to take him to the vet and I said oh ok so I get to pay for a vet bill and no one said anything more. 90$ later for steroids and antibiotics to heal the scratches they caused my dog.. read more

Been bringing my dogs here since 2010. Over the past few years service was good, grooming well and training great (Katie is no longer with this store). Good selection of pet food varieties. However, the services of the grooming salon by my wife and I these past two trips has been farrrr below satisfactory. Last time we arrived out two dogs were out in the front of the grooming salon tied up with no staff members watching them. We had to go get an employee. Today was simply unacceptable. Showed up to pick up our dogs and no staff members were in the grooming salon. Manager had to come to speak with us. Apparently the only groomer was out on lunch with no one tending to our pets. Additionally came to see our dog's leash chewed up on the counter. This has never happened in the four years we've been coming to Petco and has not happened since he was a puppy all those years ago. Without a groomer, the manager could not explain the situation. After 20 minutes of conversation with the manager, we took our dogs and got out of there. I asked him to get to the bottom of huge situation and then call me. No phone call has been made. Needless to say we will not be returning for their grooming services. The dogs are not tended to once groomed and no one is there to help you when you arrive. This is just poor service. I do not know what happened in the last six months, but this is not good for Petco. read more

This is a decent sized little Petco. They have a small, but nice varieties of dog toys, treats, and accessories, but a great selection of dog food wet and dry. Bonus points to them for the aisle for natural, boutique brands of dog treats and the refrigerated section of ready to bake dog cookies and all natural human grade food treats. Friendly, helpful staff complete with one gentleman who had tried almost every brand of dog food himself. "If I'm serving it to my dogs or other people's dogs, I want to know what it tastes like." They have a great selection of toys and foods for your pets. HOWEVER, I would not recommend their grooming services or training services. First, I saw someone in the grooming salon being extremely rough with a dog not too long ago. Not happy! Further, we went to use their self service station and they had NO equipment for us to use. Not good. Regarding the pet training, Ugh! That was painful to watch. I'd be surprised if anyone got anything out of that dull class. read more

I have never had such awful service from a pet store. I went there to buy fish and fish tank accessories last night and I asked a woman to get me fish and she acted like she didn't want to be there and she answered my question about what fish can go together in the rudest way. After she spoke to me I literally felt like I was going to cry. I felt like I couldn't ask her any other questions because she acted like I was bothering her. read more

I took my little dog there after having been there before several years ago. The girl was very rude. While still in their parking lot? She called and asked if I wanted my dogs tail shaved because she already did it! Why did she call me then? An hour later she was still shaving my 6 lb dog who did not get a bath, She was being so rough with her, raking the shaver into her face.. my dog has never had her face shaved before! I asked if she needed help and she said no. When we took her out of the car we noticed blood. That girl had cut her and didn't even tell us. We also paid to have her nails cut, and they were still long. I took her to my vet where I had to pay again for her nails to be cut, but at least it was done correctly. My little dog wouldn't come out of her crate for 3 days! I called the manager to complain and he was very nice and offered a refund and to pay for any vet bills if she needed stitches. The manager was great. But that groomer is the WORST! She really should re evaluate her career choice. I will never - take my dog back there or any other future dog. No way! Worst experience with a groomer ever! read more

I have always gone to petco just for the normal pet essentials and never had a problem with the service or really even paid attention until now. I am huge into reptiles and own 5 snakes. I had 6 and still would if it weren't for the awful conditions of petco's enclosures. We recently bought a baby columbian red tail boa and it just died from a vicious body disease known as IBD. we weren't sure how she got this disease until we went back to Petco and noticed all cages were under "observation". we returned the very next week to see snakes living on paper towel and small water dishes. we also noticed one of the pythons was acting quite strange and almost wondered if it too had this horrible disease that killed our boa. not only did we have an issue with this but we happen to look into the Brazilian rainbow boas enclosure where it CLEARLY states they need 75-85% humidity and they're gauge stated it was at 15%. I have been very disappointed in petco's conditions for their retiles and it makes me sad that these animals are not getting the proper care they need to survive. I love reptiles and it's not that hard to keep up good living conditions but clearly they just don't care. not to mention they are very over priced and anytime you're looking to buy a felt you should check out your local reptile shows or shop online. I will never buy a snake from this petco again because I refuse to risk my other snakes catching a non curable disease. I spent $179 just to watch an amazing animal suffer and die. they deserve better than that and so does paying customers. I deserve a refund. read more

If I could give this place a zero rating I would. I had a turtle for 3 years and always fed him the pellets as well as the feeder fish. Every time we got feeder fish we would always buy 2 dozen and within a week my turtle would have them all gone. This last time we bought feeder fish, it took my turtle a lot longer than usual to eat them. I just figured he wasn't as hungry as he normally was but unfortunately it was something worse than that. This last batch of feeder fish must have had a disease because we found my turtle dead last night. I called this store and spoke to Jim and said they should look into their fish because I didn't want anyone else to go through What my family and I had just gone through. He said "Aww.. well we do check our fish every two days for disease." I said well you guys must have missed some. He didn't say anything else. He didn't say I'm sorry that happened to you. Thank you for the heads up. Nothing. He acted more like I was bothering him for calling him. I will never purchase anything else from a pet store like this. I will always go to a real pet store who actually cares and really knows what it's like to lose a family member. read more
