Shopping while Black. I was at the Petco in Auburn New York (#02784) between the hours of 6:45pm and 7:00pm. The employee (not the one who has purple hair) followed me around the store and positioned herself so she could watch me. This occurred from the time I walked in and stopped and sung to the birds yo the time I went to pick out cat food in the back of the store and when I was looking for cat toys. There are way too many alternative places to shop to be harassed while shopping. She acted like she was putting things away, everywhere I went. It's an age old trick. If I wanted to steal something I would send in a white person who would get away with stealing everything but the animals--per a white woman I know who had walked out of stores with racks of items because the store employees are too busy watching Black people to watch her. I have my own business and I have a Masters degree. I would NEVER give anyone the satisfaction...but I will NEVER shop at your store again. read more

The enclosures that they keep their frogs in is straight animal abuse. Frogs need a water dish with a heat lamp and a uv lamp to mimic the sun. They need a certain level of humidity and heat. At this location they are keeping the frogs in a tiny box with some moss and that's it. No water bowl or anything. Nothing to climb on and no heat lamp. This is so disgusting and they should not still be getting business since it just encourages treating animals like this. read more

I love this grooming salon! Everyone is so kind and they are gentle with dogs in their care and they have seasonal packages as well as well priced basic packages. I bring my own little dog here and I do volunteer work as local spca and they've helped me with those dogs as well. I highly recommend Petco for all your pets grooming needs!! read more

I made an online appointment with them for my new rescue dog. Since he needed a haircut badly. When I got there they said they tried to call me but wanted me to know they don't cut hair there. ok in all fairness he could use a bath. So they bathed him and gave me the bill. I almost fell over. it was more than $48.00. I should have asked how much a bath would cost. That night I was looking at the bill with my glasses on and it said I had 2 charges. the bath for $39.99. a second purchase for $5.99. They forgot to put his $60 flea collar back on him so the next day I go after it. I showed the girl the bill and asked what that extra charge was for. She said that's for the towel and brush we used on him after the bath. You have to be kidding me! You charge to dry a dog after a bath! I will never spend one more cent in that store and will never recommend their bath service either. When I picked up my dog his face had like black mascara on his beard that wasn't there before the bath. I was not happy at all! If I could not give even one star I wouldn't. Ridiculous to charge extra for a towel after a bath. I know American has no common sense anymore but this shop proved just how deep it is. read more

Star did a great job grooming my dog, and she was very knowledgeable and helpful! I will be requesting her again! thanks- Tucker and Jake

Groomer was 20 minutes late for an 8 am appointment she shaved a 15 year old poodle when she was just supposed to trim him. He is freezing! then she gives a chew treat for a 40-60 lb dog. My poodle is 15 LBS. this groomer had trim him before. She didn't listen to our instructions. read more

We booked an upgraded grooming package, discussing a thorough brushing and coat trim for our 16 lb puppy with the groomer. After encountering some knots not noticed during the initial consultation we were told they would need to take some more off than promised, but would still try to maintain the length. Based on this we were shocked to return (after the 4.75! Hours) to a dog who had been completely shaved down (including his face and whiskers). The haircut is not only unattractive and not what was agreed upon, our dog also has small scratches with scabs on his belly and legs where he was nicked with clippers. The team were animal lovers, but a clear lack of training and supervision means that when the groomer made a mistake they were unable to recover from it and continued to make a bad haircut worse. read more

Harley has been receiving her nail grooming from you for over a year now. I', not even sure I can truely express how thankful I am to all of the groomers who have so lovingly helped Harley and me with our trust issues. You see, Harley is a rescue, and I have worked very hard to get her out of her fear mode; especially when it comes to strangers. Every groomer has been so quick to notice Harley's fear, and easily adjust to it, and my over protection of her! While I don't believe she will ever willingly subject to having to leave me; she no longer needs to be carried or overally coaxed to go into the grooming room (JUST DON"T TRY TO BRUSH HER TEETH; ROFLMAO!!! : 0 ) Thank you so much for the awesome nail grooming, but also for being so great with Harley's quirks!!! read more

Had an appointment for our dog Millie. She is a small Maltese mix. We waited a month for the appointment. The groomer refused to cut her hair because she snapped. Isn't this part of the job, shouldn't she be prepared for this? She is not a mean dog. She is a rescue her back legs are a little sensitive. If you can't handle dogs don't be a groomer. I do not recommend this place read more

I have taken my 55 lb lab/pit mix there for grooming 4 times since I moved up here. Cassandra took care of her the 1st time and I have scheduled every appointment with her. Khali is a rescue dog who was beaten and has issues. Cassandra understands Khali and handles her accordingly. She does not like the dremel at all - she always wants to get on Cassandra's lap because she's afraid of it lol. Cassandra has someone come in to distract her so she can get it done, but he front paws are not as good as they could be. I blame that on Khali - not Cassandra! Also I have always found the employees to be positive, helpful and friendly. read more

So I did a groom but when she came out not much had been done a month later I had to get all her fur chopped off because they didn't do it right there was matting but other than that everything else is good they have a wide selection of toys and clothes and food and treats it's nice thanks Petco read more

I love Petco they have great options and deals but they could have a little bit more selection because I went to find a baby blue colored rocks for my fish tank and they did't have any so them I went to pet smart and they had it. I was talking to one of the employees to help me find a little ruber dog toy and she seemed very annoyed like she didt want to talk to me and also I think she was in a rush to go smoke cause as soon as I got done with her she went straight outside to go smoke. So I love Petco out the customer service is not the best as well as there selection so I prefer pet smart read more

Auburn NY Petco. I have taken my 2 dogs to petco to get their nails clipped several times with no issues. The last time I took them I watched the groomer yell at my dog and yank her left leg because she wouldn't stay still. Two weeks later and she is still favoring that leg that she had no problem with prior to getting her nails clipped. I will be taking her to the vet to have her checked out. My other dog is also very sensitive and I thought the groomer was going to let her fall off of the table. I will never go back. too bad, the groomers name the last time only was Courtney.. read more
