Fantastic food, very authentic, fast service and great communication. My waitress googled the Chinese word for Coriander to ensure my meal was free from it (allergic), which made me relax and enjoy my night out. The venue was clean, apart from the horrific bathroom! We went on a very busy night, so this probably explains that fact.
We sat upstairs in a large group. The staff were happy to move tables and chairs for us. Side note, check out the opening draws in the tables - napkins are hidden there!! It's "help yourself" to utensils, spoons and forks as well as chopsticks. The waitress offered us constant top ups of chilled water and free jugs of warm, sweet chrysanthemum tea. YUM!
I went crazy ordering a main (the spare ribs), entree (hot and sour soup) and two huge drinks (ribeena and lemonade and a chilled mix of coffee and milk tea) and trying everyone else meals as well. Also, the serving sizes were very generous. Tragically because of this, none of us could manage to visit the desert house upstairs! Oh woe is meeeeeeeee!! *Has anyone visited here before???*
So I am left raving about the food, the menu was enormous, two A3 pages of choices and from what I tried, very much the taste of Malaysia. I can't wait to try out the Swanson St franchise - and review it too. read more
