As a rescue, our Willie came to us with quite a few very undesirable and dangerous behaviors that felt overwhelming and unmanageable; however, through our work with Superhero Dogs, we've been able to better understand his unique personality and needs, as well create an environment for him that allows for safety and an increased quality of life. After just one week, we saw a huge improvement in our ability to communicate with Willie and within two weeks Willie's behavior had rapidly shifted toward a calmer, more cooperative dog. My daughter boards her two cats here since she moved to SLC in 2020. They're fantastic. The place…read moreis well maintained and the units for the cats are large. They're taken out regularly so they can play on the structures. Her cats never mind going there and show no signs of any distress (overgrooming, etc). I see dogs in the yard to the right of where we walk in, and they always seem excited and happy. Once, one of her cats was asleep on top of a tree, and the staff member was trying to get him down. Staff member gently tipped over the tree to try to get ahold of Caboose, but Caboose jumped to the top of the next tree. This went on a few times and my husband and daughter were howling with laughter. Finally hubby took pity and picked up Caboose. The price increases over holidays, but that's normal. We always feel we get our money's worth knowing her cats are safe and loved.

I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.

The facility itself was kept clean and the owner clearly cares about the dogs. The only reason I give 4 stars is that during most of the day, the dogs are left completely unattended. Each kennel area has an indoor and outdoor section -and the outdoor section on all of them is quite large, however in all but one, the inside section is extremely small. Too small for comfort for both of our larger dogs to fit together. Everything is sprayed down and cleaned with a hose twice a day, but that also includes during the snow and below freezing temperature. Overall, I think we would still be open to boarding our dogs there, but only during fall or spring.

The idea of taking her into a store? Absolutely not. Fast-forward just a few weeks, and she now comes when called, walks calmly, and genuinely seems happy and proud of herself.
