I phoned the store, asked about an item I needed and was told by a very cheerful man that yes, the item was in stock. I then drove some 40 miles to find the store (by the way it was 6pm, no lights are on outside the store and it looks closed). When I entered a bored looking girl was at the till, staring into space. After we'd taken a quick look around, and were impressed at the range of products, I approached the girl and asked about the item I'd phoned about. After she'd gone off to look, she came back and said they didn't have it in stock. There followed a lengthy saga with a twit called Alfie who became very irate, and told us it wasn't his problem if something wasn't in stock. He then said I'd made the girl at the till cry! We left the store not sure if a camera crew were going to appear and shout 'You're on Candid Camera' - this is the worst shop I've ever been into, I've no idea what day release scheme Alfie was on, but he's certainly not a 'people person'. We drove on down to Pets at Home on the Boucher Road, Belfast, picked up the item I was looking for, and bought lots of other stuff for our puppy, our other dogs, our 8 cats, and 2 horses. The owner of Pet Warehouse really should pay a visit here and see just how a successful staff makes a difference - staff at Pets at Home know their stuff and are always pleasant and helpful. read more
