However, we only…read morediscovered after the fact that the dog we were interested in was one of three mixed breed dogs that were rescued from an Alabama puppy mill in delporable conditiions. However, these facts were not disclosed to the public when the dogs were listed for adoption. When I later politely questioned Delta Animal Rescue about their policy regarding disclosure of such pertinent facts (the puppy mill background involving extreme neglect), whoever handles Delta's Facebook account retorted that those facts are divulged at the time of adoption and that 'adoption counseling is provided'. Then in a move that further calls their full transparency into question, they deleted my comments entirely. Delta Animal Rescue should be setting animals it places up for adoption up for success and that means being TRANSPARENT from the inception all the way through to their eventual placement. It is CRITICAL that potential adopters be given all the facts, even before filling out an application, both for their sake and the animals'.
