I had come here on Valentine's day about 9am and then back again around 1-2. The kind employee DREYTON was so very helpful, greeted me with a smile and answered my every question both times. This store and its staff is awesome. their prices are comparable to other places and less expensive than others. The staff is friendly and is more than willing to help with specific needs of your pet. they always seem to have great buys on a variety of great products. Every time I have been to other pet stores, Pet Smart and PetCo, employees tend to flock to each other for conversation, and it is not as easy to get assistance. as a result, I prefer to drive an extra 20 minutes to get good service, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, a great product, and a clean and well stocked store. read more

I brought my dog in today to get groomed. It normally takes 40/45 mins to get there so I left my house an hour before hand so I would have ample time. Unfortunately there was an accident on 26 and I was to get there at 1:15 PM (because of the accident) my appointment was at 1:00 PM I called to let them know about this issue before 1 o'clock. They told me if I got there at 1:15 they would be able to take us. I got there at 1:15 and they told me they would not take us after I had already spoke with them on the phone regarding this. I am 6 months pregnant and drove over and hour to get there and they refused me service after I called to inform them. I would not recommend you taking your animal somewhere, where they don't care about the customers. read more

I really never do this, but my mother returned home today from what was supposed to be a wash for our dog. She and the dog I find out that they would not groom her today because of a medication she has been taking for years and has never been a problem before. I have been using Pet Supplies Plus since I moved to SC. We adopted our dog at one store then moved closers to Irmo. I've used delivery, curbside and in-store. Staff is masked and always helpful. I could save a few pennies elsewhere but customer service is so good it's worth it. We spend $150-250 a month there. It makes a difference feeling cared for and having great customer service. I might save $10-$30 using on-line, but supporting local business and the service? Worth it! read more

I have never been to a cleaner and nicer pet store, the staff and management are so nice and helpful. Every time I walk in I am greeted by an employee. I want to give special recognition to the grooming section and my groomer especially, Courtney Jewell, she is absolutely amazing and I have to say her customer service is over the top. She takes pride in her work and it shows. My dog Gunner (a service dog) is so excited every time we come to the groomer and loves his spa treatment from Courtney. However, because Gunner is a service dog he can't be crated and left so she makes sure that he gets groomed while I wait and when I found out he had a poultry allergy she said she would make sure he had his on toothpaste (peanut butter flavor). I have never had a bad experience at this store and probably never will, I recommend them highly. read more

Been taking the dog here for sometime to be bathed and groomed. Today not to happy. Dropped my boy off, he was done in an hour an half which was great. Here's the problem....he is never ready to go when I pick him up. Have to spend a few minutes getting his harness on. I specifically ask to ensure he has his harness on when I pick him up. I bring him in his harness, so why can't the groomers do me a solid an put it back on? I usually tip, but not today. Also he still smells like crap. Not sure what the issue is with these groomers, but we won't be back. Also this isn't a Starbucks, this sign is in bad taste. I've never had a problem tipping, if you do a great job. While I don't normally visit the Irmo location for Pet Supplies Plus I love when I get a chance to. The store is massive compared to the West Columbia location. When I walked into the store I was promptly greeted with a sweet hello and then asked if I needed any help. While shopping for dog food the staff asked me twice if I needed help getting anything down or if I needed help getting anything to my car. Not only is the staff awesome the store itself is neat and clean. The shelves were stocked and I couldn't see anything they were out of. Love this store! read more

Groomer shaved my poor dogs rear end like a landing strip and behind his ear. They cut too close and he has a bad rash from the clippers. They only did it behind one ear -- it looks like they knew they did it too close and then avoided the other ear as a result. Did not mention anything to me, disappointing that I saw it when I got home. Will not return. Do not recommend. read more

If they had zero stars I would give them that. After taking my dog for years to the Irmo Pet Supplies Plus to get her nails clipped and pick up dog food and treats, I will never shop there again. My dog is an abused rescue, she is fine with me and my friend, but she does not like strangers. In the past I have taken her to PSP to get her nail clipped. They put a nuzzle on her and she was fine. They don't do this anymore. The staff was also very rude. I went across the street to Well Pets after hours to get her nails clipped. For only $3 more, they treated her with respect, did a great job, and were friendly and happy to help. PSP list all my business, but Well Pets did a great job and they were very accommodating. read more

Took our dog from chapin to the dog wash at this store and had 3 people come out to tell us it was closed at 8. It was 8:02. Looked on the website before we came and nothing saying dog wash closed at 8. Store is open until 9. Very disappointed with the poor customer service!! read more

I took my dog for bath and toenail grind at Irmo PSP. One of his nails was missed (not ground). I contacted PSP via email and a representative from the Irmo, SC contacted me by phone. I am not sure if the information I wrote was misconstrued to him but he was initially very condescending to me telling me that nail grinding only lasted 1 week. Since I have my dogs nail ground routinely, I know this not to be true. He said I could bring my dog in but I would have to pay 1/2 price to have them redone. Why should I be expected to pay for a service that I have already paid for and was not done correctly the first time? We are not talking about a lot of money but the fact that PSP did not take full responsibility lets me know they are severely lacking in customer service. read more

Absolutely great customer service and general service. Placed to Delivery options so far and they have been perfect and prompt!! Exceeded all expectations. The last order I forgot to change the delivery to drop off and the option was left at hand over to customer. I was out of the house when they came to deliver my order (in less than 1 1/2 hours after ordering!) and the nice driver called my mobile phone and left a message that he would wait for me if I would like. I do not usually leave reviews--particularly if they are not good. They kept my paperwork for proof of rabies vaccination. They did a horrible job with my Westie. I have had both of my Westies groomed here before with okay results. They could not clip her nails. (I took her straight to the vet and paid for them to clip her nails. They said she did great.). She did not appear to have been bathed. Her ears look terrible. Her tail looks like a squirrel and there are long strands of fur hanging from it. Her cut is uneven. There were two workers. One was friendly but seemed very young and, perhaps, inexperienced. The other worker was not friendly at all. These were not the ladies that have groomed either of my dogs before. Very, very disappointing because the people in the store are very nice and extremely knowledgeable. read more

My wife and I brought our dog here because I had set up a grooming appointment. However after we came in, we realized that I mistakenly called the other location. The groomers were nice enough to fit us in AND call the other location to cancel the appointment. Plus our dog now looks like a million bucks. Would recommend! read more

I love taking my pups here to get treats and toys, however the grooming facility sucks! i take my cocker spaniel there to get shaved and the groomers always act like they don't want to do it. Plus when I took my dog there he gave them a bit trouble which i knew he would and they charged me an extra 25 dollars plus the 75 just for a shave! If my dog didn't give me trouble cutting his hair I would've done it myself! overly priced and the groomers are not nice! read more

This store goes above and beyond any pet stores in Columbia SC. They always greet me as soon as i enter and ask if i need help. Coupons are always taped on the products I buy. The employees actually hold conversations with me and answer whatever questions I may have which is rare to find nowadays. Their shelves are always stocked with the best prices, if somethings cheaper elsewhere, they price match! The reward program for dog food is very appreciated, 4 dogs get expensive. The reptiles and small animals are always very healthy looking. The fish tanks are spectacular! I love the new look of them. I don't know what else this store could do better. It's so nice to be able to ask questions and get legitimate unbiased answers. A much better experience than your big box pet stores. My son and I went in today to do self bathe with our dogs. 20 minutes to wash and dry for 8 bucks, not bad. Walk in nail clip for 5 bucks at the groomer on staff. Clean, good facility and a beautiful store. They price match and were super nice. read more
