I asked for the full address she said it fast and told me she had a lot going on and cant be answering all my question and was talking to the vet in the background and said " she keeps asking me stuff, here we go" So I hung up cause she told me she was too busy. The vet called me back and left a message and told me not to hang up and I was rude for doing that and to never call his office again. Maybe he should train his employee on her manners and thank me for not yelling at her as she was treating me awful and I never spoke rude to her. So don't call on a busy day I suppose!

You would think that with the growing population of cats in most populated areas the Gov't would offer relief, I know they offer lowered fees for people on medicaid or welfare, heap etc.. but what if your on the borderline. Your only resort is to take a small loan from your bank to have your cat spayed/neutered. The aurora park clinic is very inexpensive $80 for spay/neuter and that includes shots for rabies and distemper. Very professional and very polite service I highly recommend them to anyone with the desire to save hundreds when treating your pets health care

My new pup is a rescue so I brought her folder off all her records and the girl at the desk rudely said did you not receive our 24 hour txt to send the records and I said yes I got it but she's a rescue and just brought the folder with everything since that would be easier and she said well it's going to be a while. So I waited 45 minutes and during that time my pup was sitting on the chair next to me and the girl rudely says can you get your dog off the chair, I did not realize they didn't let dogs on them since it was my first time there. When I finally went back it was just rushed and un personable. There was just nothing happy or friendly about the appointment or the workers there. I'm not sure if I'll be going back at this point! And it's sad because I was referred by a friend who used to work with doctor adorno but his vet office staff was not great!

The price for rescue reflects the care they put into getting to know the dogs, home visits, etc. Highly highly recommended!

This time, the service and attitude from the older volunteer staff was very rude and challenging. After we expressed which cat we're interested in and then said that she's bonded with another, so we would have to get both. They asked how many cats we have (understandable question), I replied the two brothers. My son has one (unrelated from the brothers) and will be moving out this summer. The older volunteer staff then stated, "well maybe you should wait and see what happens" with her attitude... What does that mean!? Who the hell are they to tell me what's best for my family! So we left with a disappointed wife. One thing is for sure, they did not like me asking questions about any treatments, diseases or medical conditions on record. The living conditions is subpar. It is filthy, smells horrible and I would question if there are too many animals inside that small building. Maybe the Human Society of Greater Niagara or Niagara SPCA or even the Town of Pendleton should be contacted to check on things...

Not that it was off the table just that it's not typical for us. There was no discussion it was an automatic decline and my daughter was devastated. I was so sad for her and the cat. I have owned cats for over 20 years and worked in the vet industry for over 6 years. I am appalled that they didn't trust us and left my daughter crying. To say we were approved and then to deny us when we showed up was absolutely cruel and they should be ashamed of themselves. This is not how a rescue operation should run and I will absolutely never support them again.

I miss Planned Pethood, a low-cost vet clinic in Denver. Does Buffalo even have low-cost vet clinics? Even my regular vet there never charged me as much as I paid at Afton for shots for both dogs. It has been a long time since I have been in to see Dr. Kuhn, but he is a very compationate Vet…read more and he and his staff are so loving to my animal. Gizmo is not just a pet, but helps me get through major panic attacks and helps sooth my PTSD. He is also a beloved family member. So his care is very important to us! We discovered Dr. Kuhn at Afton clinic when we got Gizmo at the Eastern Hills ASPCA. He bonded with us immediately and he was so tiny. Just the lonely runt of the litter that was ignored by his brothers and sisters. We brought the whole litter out to play with and he melted our hearts and changed our lives in all the best ways, so his medical care was very important. When you get a rescue pet at this SPCA, they include first physical into the cost of the animal cost and Afton was on the list. Gizmo is a very easy going and a loving animal and won the staff over immediately. They gave him a full work up and the Vet And the vet tech came out to have a chat about him and was very thorough. We scheduled a yearly for him and when we came back for his first year visit it was a little over $100 for vaccines and full exam. Not too bad. Then he got very sick. We took him on vacation and he stayed in our hotel and we brought tons of toys and beds from home along with boxed litter pan and his normal food. The long trip home stressed him out very badly and his immune system was compromised, leading to a severe bladder infection. He had problems dribbling urine and it was orange. I was so scared we wouldn't be able to help him, as there was so much at stake to keep him alive and it was quite costly. We took him in and they kept him for three days and Dr. Kuhn or a vet tech called us daily to keep us updated. Once they got a three day IV antibiotic in him and checked his bladder to make sure it emptied they said he was good to go home. I remember being in tears because we didn't have that much money and I was afraid they wouldn't release him to us because of lack of funds. Then it happened. Dr. Kuhn signed us up for a pet vet low income assist program and this generous program paid a huge chunk ( over $200) and we were able to get the rest allowing us to get him the meds he needed to survive. The compassion for our family and our cat was overwhelming. It took a week and a half of keeping him in the livingroom with puppy pads and continue to encourage using the litter box, but he made a full recovery and is a happy, big ole' snuggle bug. We just got quoted $120 for all vaccines and exam. I got quoted $250 at another vets office. Yikes! Also, I really want to stress that this animal clinic is so helpful and compassionate. I have called a lot over the years and Dr. Kuhn and staff have called personally and discussed my concerns and given me tips to help my cat over the years. He is 4 years old now and it is comforting to know we have a vet that cares so much for all the animals. Give them a shot. I think it's worth it!

To the prospective clients and anyone considering Animal Eye Care of WNY, I feel a strong…read moreobligation to share the distressing experience we were put through so no other pet owner has to face it. My dog, Mason, recently underwent major intraocular lens implantation and phacoemulsification surgery here. Weeks after a complex ocular surgery. A time when an animal requires strict post-operative monitoring--this clinic unilaterally terminated Mason's care and abandoned him. The catalyst for their decision makes it entirely unacceptable. They chose to drop a critical surgical patient and refuse further care over a simple disagreement regarding routine bloodwork. (me contacting their clinc 7 separate times regarding the blood work my dog received good morning of surgery at this office). Refusing to support a post-operative animal's recovery over non-clinical friction is completely disproportionate, deeply unprofessional, and places an animal's vision at direct risk. Under New York State veterinary standards and AVMA ethics, veterinarians are legally and ethically bound not to neglect a patient and must ensure continuity of care. Animal Eye Care of Western N.Y. completely disregarded these standards, attempting to force us out during a critical healing window simply because of a disagreement over routine requirements and personal feelings rather than medical necessity. When a veterinary clinic values rigid mandates and disputes over the actual health and recovery of a dog who just had eye surgery, they have lost sight of veterinary medicine. We trusted them with Mason's sight, only to be abandoned when he needed them most. If you are looking for a veterinary specialist who will put your pet's health and standard of care above ego and administrative disputes, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Manage your expectations if you choose this clinic, because if you dare to question their procedures, they may very well abandon your recovering animal without a second thought.

I really wanted to have a good experience here, but the communication and administrative failures…read moreat this clinic are unacceptable. The stress of caring for a sick pet is hard enough without having to constantly manage the vet's front office. My main issues: Mishandled Medication: My dog's expensive eye drops (Fortified Cefazolin) were leaking from the start. A staff member called, acknowledged the leak, and promised a replacement in the mail. A few days later, another staff member retracted that promise, saying my bottle was fine without even looking at it. They told me to bring the drops to our next appointment to check the supply, but then no one even bothered to look in the bag. Missing Records: I have had to ask for a copy of my dog's blood work results 7 different times. I asked a tech 5 times and Dr. Stanz directly once. I was promised an email copy that never arrived, forcing me to call the office yet again. The lack of follow-through, conflicting information from staff, and refusal to honor their own promises regarding leaking medication is incredibly disappointing. Do not expect them to stay on top of your pet's administrative needs.
