The veterinarian was very gentle with my baby and did a very thorough checkup. Turns out my kitty was quickly forming an ulcer which we caught very early. We were able to heal it within a week! Turns out the place is open 24/7 so they're the best for emergencies. I also highly recommend this vet for their dental work. My kitty had to have a few teeth extracted and the vet took before, during, and after pictures that were texted to me for reassurance. They did an amazing job on the stitching and she had no post surgical issues. Overall this is hands down the best vet in Lafayette.

I am not sure how more clear I could be saying this dog came from an abused home and is skittish. She has never bitten anyone as long as I've had her but how my communication was disregarded and how she was handled escalated the situation unnecessarily which almost resulted the to quarantining my dog.

He cleaned Harvey's ears and did a culture in left ear. It turned out to be a yeast infection. He put medication in Harvey's ear and said we were good to go. Harvey loved Dr Mayer and every staff member he met. I use medicated wipes on Harvey's bulldog facial wrinkles. The clinic ordered them for me and I was able to pick them up the next day. Within minutes, Dr. Burke said she would NEED a surgery to open her up immediately or she would die. My young daughter was with me and started sobbing. I was in shock. Dr. Burke said with certainty there was a toy stuck inside of her that needed to be removed. I cried my eyes out and paid the $750!!! for the surgery. When I got Liz back she couldn't move on her own for days, they had cut her open. Then they proceeded to tell me the surgery was exploratory, just a test and there was NOTHING inside of her stomach. She was completely fine. I could not believe it. If I had known it wasn't necessary I would've never done it! I had to nurse her back to health from a useless surgery. To see her sweet eyes glazed over and in pain was torture. We found out later that ALL WE NEEDED TO DO WAS CHANGE HER FOOD!!! I was so upset and asked to talk to the doctor and she REFUSED to see me. Which that in itself told me she knew she did something wrong. None of the other staff were helpful or considerate and instead I received a phone call from Dr. Randall who happened to be the owner at the time, he proceeded to YELL at and tell me "this is just the way it is." I am heartbroken. You never expect to go to a doctor or a vet and be LIED to that your precious pet will die and be scammed out of money. I thank God she is still living. On all 4-5 occasions, we were treated with respect and it was very evident that both doctors and their nursing staff CARE about their jobs and taking care of their clients and their animals. In the most recent case, Our dachshund came back from boarding at a vet that I was skeptical about. We were going on vacation with family who need boarding for their dogs so we took all animals to that vet for boarding. After a week of boarding, he came back with what we now know is a bacterial and fungal infection. We were given meds, there were tests taken and there was a diagnosis given that was accurate. A week later (today), the DOCTOR called back personally to inform us that the dog's samples from testing were sent off to a third party who confirmed the diagnosis. My wife was extremely impressed with this. We've been to 3 vets prior to Carson and were not satisfied. Carson is more than satisfactory; both doctors are professional. It's hard to describe their treatment of animals- it's better to just say that they care and will do whatever necessary to help your animal- WITHOUT charging you unfairly. Financially, there pricing for care is VERY competitive and extremely fair. Thanks, Doctors and Nurses at Carson! EDIT: After speaking with the boarding vet, their indifference toward our plight was very evident. We had no interest in taking our animal back over there. Carson rescued Murphy again.

He kept him alive, enjoying quality of life for the last several years after he was diagnosed with both renal and heart issues. He always accommodated my work schedule in order to provide the care and did so with compassion and gentleness. A few days ago Maurice started having seizures and Dr. Pete tried every medication and treatment available in order to save him. He came to the phone and spoke to me personally multiple times over the course of the the 8 days leading up to his demise. When he suffered a stroke we knew that he was suffering and gasping for breath. Dr. Pete assisted our boy with a painless and peaceful escape to eternal rest. He was extremely caring and it was obvious that it was hard for him to see Maurice in such distress and was deeply moved himself as he fulfilled his patient's care for the last time. He also made all the arrangements for a private cremation so that we could keep him forever with our family in his beautiful tiny urn. I recommend Dr. Pete and his staff completely. Returning to the clinic, the morning…read moreafter my dog spent the night in the ER after a dental procedure gone horribly wrong (Dr. Ariel), I was stern and upset. When I trusted this vet to take care of my animal during a dental cleaning and extraction, she came home with me JUST AFTER SURGERY. She was bleeding immediately and vomited up a clot the size of my human fist. THANK GOD I DID NOT LEAVE HER in their care that evening, as she could have died. Minutes were a matter of importance, as I called them OFF THE HOOK, after I brought her home (4:50 left clinic, 5:09 called repeatedly) ....I ended up rushing her, while going into shock, to the emergency vet......the next day, I went to the clinic to let Dr. Ariel know about the tragic outcome of her surgery, and was LAUGHED AT TO MY FACE. I let her have it, as she is a professional, and I TRUSTED HER with the care of my dog. I was told that I did not get the pre surgical blood work, and that may have made a difference in the outcome. Well, feeling UNEDUCATED about this, I DID GET BLOOD WORK, at my SECOND ER VISIT (3 days after the surgery!). The blood work came back normal, but I will touch upon that later.....In regards to the treatment from DR. ARIEL, with my Dogs dental, and other dogs I have brought to her, let me tell you who is UNEDUCATED AND CRUEL. I've seen her misdiagnosis conditions, stab herself with a needle while attempting a routine shot, miss regularly while giving shots, behave with no confidence when handling larger dogs, and treat her clients with little respect. I am not going to sugar coat it, when my girl could have died, I told Dr. Ariel she should look twice at her hands and second guess every move she makes. She needs to take responsibility!.....before I continue down a CRUEL ROAD, I want to stick to purely EDUCATING ANYONE WHO GOES TO THIS VET. THINK TWICE. There is FAR MORE to this story, as I gave DR.COLE the opportunity to make things right as well, but also was met with no respect or consciousness.......So, all in all, I HAVE BEEN EDUCATED, and I MAY STILL BE CRUEL, but this is not about me...IT IS ABOUT THE WELL-BEING OF YOUR PET.
