Luckily my mom was able to connect with Global FIP group on Facebook for amazing support & to get started on treatment 2/26. As time is not on my side with this deadly disease. We were also very lucky to be welcomed with open loving arms to Sylvans Animal Clinic. I just had my 1st of 6 rounds of CBC. My mom was very anxious about this with me being deaf there's no way to soothe me, until we walked through the door. The Doctor, technicians & receptionists were absolutely wonderful. They were ALL SO NICE & treated us both with such tender loving care. My mom & I couldn't be more happier with their services. Not to mention, I really loved & appreciated the comfort kisses on my head & neck while my blood was being drawn. Thats how my mom comforts me So we wanted to leave a much deserved AWESOME review in hopes to remind other pet parents out there, to be gentle & extra kind to the ones that are caring for our fur babies. When we arrived, we were able to park in the lot behind the building, and there is a ramp leading up to the entrance. The waiting room is clean and spacious, with separate spaces for dogs and cats. Animals are required to be leashed or in a carrier. We were treated with kindness by the veterinarian and technicians, and the room we were placed in was also clean. The veterinarian treated our pet very nicely and everything went smoothly. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing end of life care for their pet, and the only reason I am giving them 4 stars rather than 5 is that the cost of this service was much higher than expected. In fact, it would have been less expensive for us to go to a 24 hour emergency veterinary office. Otherwise, the kindness and care we received here was excellent.

In general the staff,…read moreincluding the vets, are friendly and seem to care about the animals they care for, and were very patient with one of my dogs who was very frightened to be there. Unfortunately, in 2 separate instances with 2 different pets, my pets weren't feeling well I brought them in to be evaluated. In both instances I was told that they were healthy with minor issues and prescribed medicine and treatments that were completely unrelated to what the true issues were. With both, after a few days of following the vets' recommendations, they continued to get worse and what was recommended did no good. I brought my first pet back and at that point was told he had cancer and was dead 2 weeks later. I took my 2nd pet to another vet and was told he had cancer and needed to be euthanized a couple of days later due to a large malignant mass under his rib cage. Losing these precious beings was difficult enough, and was made more painful by being misled about their conditions knowing that their pain could have been made more tolerable with the proper treatment. After those experiences I no longer trust the vets to properly diagnose & treat my pets and will be going elsewhere.

For about a year (maybe longer) they did business out of a trailer in very cramped quarters. Recently we had an appointment for our remaining dog that we had to cancel at the last minute due to a family medical emergency. We rescheduled the appointment but they insisted on charging us $32 for a missed appointment as well. We asked them as a courtesy to remove the charge since we were long time customers with no previous missed appointments. They refused and refused to sell us heartworm meds unless we also paid the $32 missed appointment fee. We are now changing vets. Disappointing!
