Goodwin Pet Resort at Pike Road - Two paws DOWN!

Because they weren't sure if my dog had something contagious they examined Max at my car, which I thought was awesome. Dr. Kallam and her assistant (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) were so very kind, caring, and thorough. They were very gentle and sweet with my fur baby and that meant a lot to me. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Kallam for scheduling the appointment so quickly and for being so kind and caring.

We talked with the kennel manager because we were concerned she was not being taken out in a timely manner. Awhile later, this same situation occurred again. We were told they were treating her properly and this could happen. We had to unexpectedly board her 2 days this week and when we picked her up this morning, her bed was given to us wrapped in trash bags and we were told we needed to wash it that she had urinated on it. When we got home and unwrapped the bed, not only was it wreaking of urine, there was poop all over it and it was way past needing a wash. It appeared our dog had laid in this. Also, we took her food and there was food remaining in her bag so we're not sure if she was being fed properly. We got a new bed and will not be going back. We feel that our dog was neglected at this facility.

Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital - Ready to go into Taylor Crossing!

I'm making this post on the behalf of my sister. If your pets has Taylor Crossing as their…read moreestablished vet, I would reconsider. I have had 2 incidents with them and they're not good ones. Back in July, 2 of my dogs were boarded for about 6 days. When I picked them up, I had noticed there was blood on the floor in the lobby, but didn't think anything of it. We went back home and when I was unloading the dogs in the car, I saw that there was blood all over one of the floor mats. After further inspection, it was one of my dogs. They had clipped the quick and was bleeding while still in the facility. He had a rash that was really bad, had hives, lost the hair behind his ears, and had a double ear infection. I was not told any of this when I picked him up, but you can physically see it. He's never been back. On Monday, my sisters cat was showing some pretty disturbing signs. She wasn't eating, drinking, using the bathroom, balance issues, or had any energy. She was just stiff. She was set to have an appt with them on Friday, just to get shots but I called to see if they could see her then. We went there and they checked out her out. They said it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave her some injections, did some bloodwork, and gave her some medicine. Throughout yesterday, she wasn't getting better, but she wasn't declining. Around 10pm last night, she took a turn for the worst and was rushed to VCA's ER. We then found out that it wasn't an upper respiratory infection, it was something neurological and her eyes were twitching. They kept her overnight to see if they could turn it around. 5 AM this morning, we got a call that she did not make it due to organ failure. The bloodwork showed that. Her liver and kidneys shut down. It was probably something she ingested, but it is unknown on what. I gave them a pass for my boy and took him to somewhere else, but I wasn't expecting them to drop the ball on something like this. My sister's cat was failed terribly. They told us over the phone that they ASSUMED it was an upper respiratory infection because she had one in the past while she was at the humane shelter before she was adopted by my sister. So basically, forget trying to find other causes and just give her all these treatments that cost almost $400 that did nothing. We brought her to the VCA ER and it took them no time to figure out what was going on. It was never an upper respiratory infection. Do better.

The front desk area was organized and they were ready for patients the moment they unlocked the doors. They brought me back into an exam room and the vet tech who came to speak with me was so kind and professional. Communication was great. The facility is beautiful and the layout / color scheme is very welcoming which is a wonderful and thoughtful touch... didn't feel like a white washed hospital. Blown away by the amazing service received here today.

Creature Comforts Pet Sitting

We've used Creature Comforts for about 25 years now. What I loved initially is the same thing I…read morestill love about this business: your pets are treated like her own from the start. She actually comes over and spends time with your animals before taking you on as a client. She wants to not only gain another customer, but make sure it's a good fit. Our various dogs over the years have grown so attached to her and her staff that they don't seem to have missed us all that much on our return. They also do all the things I'd do if I was home such as check mail and open and close blinds or turn lamps on and off. You can leave instructions as to what you'd like done on the visits. I don't recommend anyone else in the Montgomery area! They handle it all: dogs and cats but also Guinea pigs, hamsters and horses. No animal too big or too small. We are so glad we found this business and we don't dread going out of town and having our animals kenneled and anxious anymore.

We hired Creature Comforts to watch our 2 dogs and feed them 2x per day. As our dogs have a dog…read moredoor, they only needed to be fed and watered. No exercise was requested, and no extra services of any kind. We originally asked Creature Comforts to watch them for 10 days while we were out of town. Our plans changed, and we adjusted to only 3 days. The price of services are not listed anywhere on the website. She charged $18/visit on regular days and $23/visit on holidays. They requested an entire packet of information after a home tour and introduction to our pets. Barbara was nice and did take good notes as well as "starting a file". She left the packet with us and requested that we leave it with her along with the payment upon her first arrival. She requested the key be dropped off at her home prior to the start date. We followed all of the instructions. During our trip, she made no communication efforts with us. We arrived home and the check was gone, but all the paperwork and instructions she requested were still on the table. She made no contact with us after the dates had passed to ensure we had arrived home and our pets received care, or to return our house key. After a week, we called to get our key back. It was provided to us on a plastic ring with our names on it. When my husband asked what happened to the keyring we had provided with the key she simply stated she didn't know and she couldn't accept any type of keyrings with keys. (i.e., she removed it and did not return it). As far as we could tell, our dogs had been fed and watered as requested. Nothing in our home was disturbed. But we were not impressed. Honestly, we've had better help from neighbor teenagers for a much lower price. This is a helpful service, but I can't recommend it unless you have no other options.

East Montgomery Animal Hospital - After their groom(:

This is a review of their dog daycare…read more Our dog had been going to another local vet for months and absolutely loved it. We were forced to transition to East Montgomery due to new work schedules and their opening hours. Our dog has begun showing all kinds of behavioral issues since going to East Montgomery that he never showed at the other vet. He is terrified to be dropped off and protests, desperately acting out so that we will not leave him. Compare this to his last daycare where he LOVED going and was very happy and polite being dropped off. We are removing our dog from daycare here. They have a very small "yard" and I have a hunch the dogs are not actually getting much play/socialization time. Unacceptable, especially for the higher price they charge. If you love your dog, this isn't the daycare for them. No comment on the veterinarian side. Have not really used them.

They all 3 love going here. Every staff member here treats our girls like their own and throw a fit every time we bring them in. You seriously couldn't ask for a better group to take care of your animals. After our recent boarding, our collie/lab mix (who usually only likes the people she lives with) jumped up and gave the vet tech a hug before we left, so we know they're being taken great care of- it was so sweet(: The vet was great when we had a dental issue with one of our shih tzus, as well as all of their wellness visits. The grooming was amazing as well (which is hard to find with shih tzus). The groomer called and talked to me for about 15-20 minutes to get to know my dogs before she groomed them. If you want to feel like someone loves your fur babies as much as you do, I definitely recommend East Montgomery!!
