This was in no way something I wanted to deal with without a professional with demonstrated experience, particularly to a country with stringent and unclear requirements. Prior to speaking with Vanessa, I spoke to about 5 agents in this space who candidly did not seem like they knew what they were talking about (one even suggested he only set up the vet appointment and I mail in the paperwork, which he was happy to charge me $XXX for- sir, what am I contacting you for then?). Vanessa not only responded immediately with comprehensive information about the process (more than the USDA website and even the Vietnamese customs page- I looked) and what she could do for me. She moved mountains to make this happen, met with me at the vet process, and clearly cares deeply about the animals she is helping to move. I have to again underscore how different my experience with Vanessa was from other providers where it really felt like you're paying someone to move around paperwork and they actually expressly disclaim that after all that your dog may not even meet the requirements to get on the plane. Vanessa gave me the comfort to know things will be fine because she does this all the time, as opposed to other operators who kind of seem like they're just winging it. Thanks again Vanessa, you're a life saver!

Emi was nice at first and then proceeded to have an attitude when we simply asked about her safety procedures with employees and giving her a copy of our house keys due to SF crime. After 4 days of pick up/ drop off service and being nothing but nice to her, we were in the process of getting extra keys made for her team, and out of the blue, we received an automated cancellation email for the remainder of our 4 weeks of shuttles to/ from SF Puppy Prep with zero explanation. We critically needed the service in order to be able to get our puppy to / from training during the work day, so cancelling all future weeks with no notice or explanation, really put us in a tough spot. We therefore texted and called for several days to get answers and finally got a non-response email from her of "thank you for using us this past week, we are sure you will find another service." Passive aggressive behavior like this to customers is so unprofessional- no phone call, no headsup, no explanation. Now we have to cancel the rest of our puppy classes and still have no clear reason why Emi dropped us except for the original auto message we received saying that her "taxi is now full" despite us pre booking and confirming weeks in advance.... Hmm. Maybe prejudice? You should check out Wiggling Tails instead. They don't service our area but I'm sure they will treat you better than Emi did to us!

Her love for pets is unconditional and she really takes a good care of them as if it was her own. With her background as a Vet Tech, she is highly knowledgeable and you can be assured she knows what she's doing. I 100% trust her for all my pet sitting needs and would recommend her to anyone.

In response to business owner response to my original post…read more When we first met I stated I was looking for someone to build a relationship that I could trust my high maintance breed to & specfically someone that knew how to work with this breed, which business owner stated was familiar with. I would have liked for all this to worked out but sadly from this experience I no longer will be able trust anyone to care for my pups. Yes, it was my first time leaving them so of course, I felt off and would miss them during my time away.Which is even the more important and would have appreciated my pups be cared for as asked. If red flags were noticed these should have been addressed.Business owner should have said NO to caring for my dogs. As well as been more clear about service right then and there...why would I pay for overnight or open my home if not to make sure pups are ok overnight. When the 60 pound puppy was jumping, I went to grab him but I recall a statement stating it was okay with they were familiar with bulldogs and grew up with eb's something along these lines. After the meet and greet and before I left them in business owner care I made sure to trim nails with a groomer because I know those scratches can hurt! My dogs are trained dogs and I always keep them in training and on routine, schedule.Anyone with experience with this breed would know they are jumpers especially if they want attention. both in the puppy/teen stage. Which I mentioned to business owner during the meet and greet when it was happening. Also, when business Owner reached out to me for payment for the day I asked her to leave my home- in the same email with that included the invoice I stated why I would not pay per what I saw on cameras and also vet confirming illness of pups & distress from this experience-all in original post. I never got reply email back or heard back from business owner. My dogs are on schedule and potty trained but yeah you got to open the patio door and let them out. If they were not let out at their indicated time as stated in my 7 page long notebook of step by step instructions I left, of course they will urinate inside. The patio had artificial grass and I clearly stated walks were not a priority especially on hot days because playing ball with them inside would suffice and they overheat fast because of their breathing issues, this was also stated in notebook btw. In my many emails to business owner I state I had been working with pups leaving them alone, a month and half prior to leaving them for my trip to prepare to be away from me. I told business owner I worked them up to 3 hours at a time which is what was stated by business owner would be out the most at a time but not all the time throughout the day due to their work. Yes I had never left them pups alone prior to more than 20 mins but once Booked service I knew I needed to get used to me leaving and increased time. If notebook would have been read with instructions it would have been clear to open the pen and let pups roam around. Everything we spoke about in person or maybe an email was written out in the notebook. Im not going to go back and forth with this as I am still dealing with the huge vet bill and still traumatized about this situation. Im over this and only trying to heal and move on. Yelp is a platform to let others know of an experience and voice opinions. Not everyone can work with this breed and its hard as it is to find someone who really knows how to as it is, so I had to share for this bulldog owners at there. So I do not feel I ruined the reputation of the business owner or their business or set out to "destroy". I am sorry they feel that way and wished this experience would have not gone the way it did, especially for my pups. Never again & never again with any pet sitter at all.

We were afraid Gabby's state of pain and discomfort was exponentially increasing and so grateful that we could book online immediately (versus many services which we would have to call and wait for a reply). Dr. Gorczyca was able to arrive within 24 hours, a Sunday morning. He helped advise us on how much to involve our young son (age 9) and gave a really transparent, thoughtful overview of what to expect. Dr. Gorczyca brought so much beauty and care and love to Gabby's last hour with us. We could talk about all of what we loved and remembered about her, which was also helpful for my son to feel involved and start to grapple with the reality of Gabby's passing (which he had been avoiding the feelings of). Dr. Gorczyca read beautiful poems inspired by Gabby's life, and then lead beautiful rituals as said goodbye. Our gratitude to Dr. Gorczyca and A Gentle Rest are beyond words.
