Very disappointed with how we were treated by the manager…read more Our dogs have been groomed here several times in the past, and we had always planned to continue using this business. Yesterday morning I called to schedule grooming appointments for our dogs. My first call went to a message stating they were either experiencing a high call volume or were closed. I called back 3 more times over the next couple of minutes, but no one answered. I had 2 meeting coming up and would not be available if I left a message After waiting about 10 minutes, I called again and someone answered. I heard "Hello" and that the call was being recorded. I asked if there were any grooming appointments available next week. The manager immediately responded by asking if I was the person who had just called multiple times. I said yes, and before I had a chance to explain that I was simply trying to get through to schedule an appointment, he told me that calling repeatedly was rude and that I would not be receiving any services from them. He then hung up on me. I was surprised by the response and attempted to call back twice to clarify that I was not trying to be rude, but my calls were not answered. Later, my wife called and spoke with the same manager. He stated that he was with a customer and that I should have known that repeatedly calling was rude. I had assumed this was a business line with multiple lines, but we later learned it is actually a cell phone, and I assume he doesn't know that you can silence them. My wife asked to have the owner contact her to discuss the situation, but more than a day later we have still not received a response. Based on this experience and the way the situation was handled, we will not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend this business to others.

Had the absolute best experience here! This was our first time boarding our dog and we were worried…read moreabout his behavior towards other dogs and people. He is high anxiety and a little aggressive but the owners said it wouldn't be a problem at all and they took him with open arms! After we dropped them off, they spent time bonding with him and playing his favorite game, fetch. They took him for daily walks and played with him. They also sent us pictures and updates. I couldn't be more than happy! When we came to pick up our dog, he was happy to see us but now that he's home, I think he wants to go back! Overall, the owners were wonderful and sweet and took all of our concerns with our dog seriously. They went above and beyond to not only make us feel comfortable but our dog as well! I highly recommend them and plan to use them in the future!

When we rescued our lab/mutt puppy we had a little bit of a conundrum as to what would be the best…read moreway to train our new dog.... We researched a variety of places but continually felt that certain training methods were a bit too aggressive, inhumane, or were not sensitive to the fact some dogs are motivated differently than others (or had a rough start life and were very fearful; like our dog...). Having heard about Dog Trainers Workshop from various people, we did a little research, then decided to sign up for their introduction puppy class. The classes are broken into several categories based on your dogs age, skill and previous training: Puppy, Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Competition. You can also take private classes, or leave your dog in their care for them to train them (a few years later we actually scheduled some time and dropped our dog off for a few days of boarding/brushing up on skills he was getting rusty *cough-lazy-cough* on). Connie Cleveland, and her staff, are absolutely amazing! The classes are taught to help you understand your doggy's psyche. And to train you to know how to interact with your dog as the "pack leader", as well as to teach you to know what motivates your dog to want to listen to you. Families are encouraged to come to class so the dog will learn to listen to a variety of people, as well as ensuring that everyone feels comfortable with the dog (as well as giving commands to the pet). There were several classes when young kids (under the age of 10) were giving direction or a command to the dog-- which was easily 40lbs larger than they were-- and the dog would listen! There are no whistles, spray bottles, clickers, shock collars, screaming, or commands repeated 10,000 times in Connie's classes. There is, however, lots of positive reinforcement, treats, encouragement, and Connie and her staff are there to help you if you have ANY concerns or questions. They love dogs and want the best for the animals more than anyone I've ever met! Dog Trainers Workshop was the best thing we could have ever done for our dog and for ourselves! Our dog is obedient, knows when to listen, but also knows he can be just a dog. We learned so much at Dog Trainers Workshop-- we tell anyone who is thinking about, or has a dog that needs some training, to go here! We travel with our dog a lot and we are frequently told by others (whether it is bars, restaurants, hotels, groomers, doggy day care) how well he listens, as well as how enjoyable an animal he is. I give Dog Trainers Workshop five stars without any trepidation! They do an excellent job in training the pet owners--as well as the pet-- to have the best relationship you can have with your four legged friend!

Hoping this place has changed hands since our expirence 10 years ago…read more Our pup was there for 5 days and was a mess upon our return he was covered with feces. Like he was unattended and was roling in it. Just horrible and disgusting . They made sure our bill was paid before they brought our pup out to us. We have since moved out of the area.

We have 2 Mini-Australian Shepherds and one is very fear reactive as he was attacked on trails many times as a young puppy. We had other trainers tell us our male dog would never live a normal life and could never be around other dogs or children. Guiding Canines took the time to understand our dogs and create a meticulous training plan! They simulated real life situations since we had a baby on the way with noisy toys, crying dolls, strollers... the WORKS! We are so grateful for them! Our dogs did really well with the arrival of our son thanks to Guiding Canines! We stayed in contact with them and just moved to the East Coast. We were so excited to be near Guiding Canines again! They have taken care of our dogs and setup a follow-up training schedule while we get our house settled. They're extremely flexible but always keep the dogs best interest at the forefront. Recently, they helped facilitate a vet visit for one of our pups to get checked out. I highly recommend this team because they are truly phenomenal! We are forever grateful for them for allowing our dog to live a "normal life"!
