Ever since I was a little girl, I've had this habit of going into pet stores just to look at the animals. Yes, even if the number of dogs at home has never gone below 2 and my family's always had additional smaller pets, like fish, birds, and rabbits, if I was in a mall, I /had/ to go to its pet store and look at all the cute animals. I still do this. And for years, I never had any friends who shared or understood this sorta-compulsion.
Then a short time ago, I went out with this really cute guy from school. It went amazingly well, but probably what cemented its rating as an 11/10, fireworks and confetti hearts everywhere type of date was when he suggested we go into Pet City to look at the animals, because he also likes going into pet stores just for fun.
Holy shit, I was fucking floored. (What a fucking understatement.)
Unfortunately for us, there were no adorable rabbits, cats, or dogs in the little store. It was mostly colorful fish, which were still nice to look at but considerably less exciting, and a cage of extremely hairy guinea pigs. What they do have here though is a wide range of pet supplies such as food, toys, medicated shampoo, and all sorts of pet containers and carriers. Not bad for a small, slightly cramped store. Okay, more than slightly: it's hard for two tall people to maneuver their way through.
Never going to forget this store for 2 reasons. The first one is pretty damn obvious, and the second is those guinea pigs. They were so hairy; like, out of control shih tzu mops waddling around a cage. So weird, yet endearing. read more
