I've grown up with dogs my whole life as my dad has always loved having them around even when my siblings and I had stopped really craving the company of pets when we hit our teens. We still had to take care of them, of course, and dogs can be expensive! So we had to look for a store where we could get good food and other pet paraphernalia without burning a hole through our wallets.
We found this area at the corner of N. Domingo and Broadway which as a bunch of little shopts that sell mostly dog and cat food and supplies. One of these shops is Home Pet, where get kibble by weight, rather than having to buy a whole bag of dog food, and get tick and lice medication.
Truth be told the shops here are all rather the same. Maybe each specializes in their own "genre" of pet food and supplies, but Home Pet is fine as far as stores go. There's no charm to it, or an AC, not that any of the same stores there do, but I guess it's pretty much the idea that you just get your stuff and go. We always have to come with a car here though, as the nearest jeep we can take is away at Aurora--not that you'd like to be carrying dog food on a jeep--and a taxi can be hard to come by there.
All in all, it's a generally decent place for us to sustain and feed our dog. read more
