Call ahead for a reservation and they might give you a table on the outer edge of the patio with a unspoiled view. Big cantilevered umbrellas hang over the tables and there is always a breeze. The waiters and menu are all good with the "English" so no worries there. My boyfriend and I had a first and second course each and shared a bottle of wine and a dessert. Our bill was about 75 Euros and it took two hours for lunch with every table full. all of the beautiful European people lingering and drinking and talking loudly. These things should be considered when planning to eat there but may not always be the case since we were there for Christo's Floating Piers. Our Meal was a shrimp and fennel salad with a citrus dressing, a cold barley salad, a light pork dish and the local specialty, which is a lake sardine with polenta. I sampled several area restaurants version of the sardine/polenta dish but I think this place does it best of all. The wine list is decent range of local wineries and some other regions with a good range of medium priced bottles at 15 euro.

Beautiful Outdoor Lunch!! This place is tucked away from the main walkway between Peschiera…read moreMaraglio and Sensole. If you are walking from the ferry docks at Peschiera M. towards Sensole it is the first place on the water side of the road past the hubbub. This place is lovely with an outdoor patio hanging out over the water with a terrific view of San Paolo Island. The entrance is not clearly marked and the place looks like a private house. I love everything about this place! I've had lunch there a couple of times. It is very inexpensive healthy home cooking with a different handwritten menu everyday which is a dead give away for a good meal! (So welcome after days of point and order picture menus, it was a needed break from paninis and pizza). It is only open for lunch from 12-2pm (I think everyday?) and each dish on the menu is between 8-11 Euros. Order a bottle of fizzante (water with gas) and a local birra alla spina (beer on tap). Sit back and enjoy the view. The waitresses don't speak any English, not even a little bit, but they are friendly and professional. You will need your Google translate for this lunch but worth it. It is not a first course/second course place and each dish on the menu is just enough for a light lunch. However, you might want to order the BIG SALAD of the day just to share as a second course BUT I was so happy to have the "Insalata di Carpaccio di Trota" by itself for lunch. The first good big mixed salad I've found in Italy (third trip). The trout salad is a big green salad with veggies and thin smoked local lake trout, which is very similar to a good smoked salmon. The turkey and vegetables "Insatata di tacchino e vendure" was not a salad but very healthy and tasty. The "pasta Mediterranea" also had lots of veggies in there. See photos. It is better just to go into the bar area to pay your bill than to ask for a check. You can leave some money in the collection can for the cat sanctuary across the street...think lots of cats in a large high fenced area living the life of luxury. And those ducks and swans floating in the water below...they really are looking at you and want your left over bread bits.
