Shoutout to our local community heroes! The venue is a lot of fun packed into a chill space. The staff here is welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. I came here to get my craving for Peruvian food satisfied. I drove by the venue which is across the street from my hotel. I saw the magic word Peruvian... say less! We ordered the classics: whole chicken, rice , fried plantains, mixed green salad, and ceviche. We had a cool Peruvian purple corn drink with its punch of spiced cinnamon flavor. I also ordered a nice lime forward Fresh Chicha Morada. Bothe these drinks are nonalcoholic but add a lot of fun spunkiness to the meal. Everything was proper! The chicken was tender, smoky, and had the perfect savory skin. There are two bottles of sauces at the table, but I learned that the traditional green and yellow sauces are kept up by the bar top for patrons to take whatever they need. I was so excited to try them out next time, since we already devoured the chicken. The rice was savory, colorful, and soft. The plantains were perfectly thick, sweet, and had the perfect little caramelized edges. The salad dressing was tangy and sweet that paired well with the mixed greens. The ceviche was magnificent and I could have eaten it all by myself! I wanted to save room for dessert... but maybe next time. The staff let me by a container of the Peruvian popped corn kernels that came with the ceviche. It has the perfect salty crunch that is so satisfying! They taught us about this corn kernel, the purple corn in the drink, and how they are both so different them American corn. I love the culture and history behind this amazing cuisine!
