My boyfriend and I were in town for a weekend away, and stumbled upon this museum and decided to have a wander. As mentioned in other reviews, there's not a whole lot to do within Perth, so it was nice to find this museum on a day of exploring. It's pretty grand when you walk in, and has various rooms tucked away. Loads of Perth history as well as a pretty neat glass collection towards the entrance. There was also a room of the local rocks and animals, which was fun. We were able to listen to the sounds various animals in the area might make. Towards the end of exploring the museum, they had a room of kids art displayed which was nice. I like it when museums, schools and businesses display kids art. Gives me hope for the artists of the future. Nice place to check out if you're in Perth and looking for a bit of knowledge on it's history. read more

Central of Perth , just behind the high street and it's free to get in which is allways a good thing. the exhibitions change and sometimes there is speical days on where you can dress up from old times, There is a mummy exhibition which is good,. worth a visit if your in perth at all. read more

A free, large museum, in a spectacular building with a domes roof. There is a a great exhibition on the social change in Perthshire, a clothing exhibition, a photography exhibition, a natural history section (intercatibe) and lots of paintings/art work. Oh yes, and a mummy.....that's right, a very special 'egyptian princess' that is on show at certain times of the year. Really amazing sight. read more

Theres not a lot in Perth, for a city, it can feel quite small at times but this museum keeps Perth cultured. It has some great art exhibitions that change every few months. There is also a history section of the museum with interactive dress up kits and games for children to learn experientially. There is even a mummy you can set up an appointment to view. I have yet to do this but am planing to set up a viewing with some friends this spring. Oh and its all free! Whats better then that! read more

Firstly its free. A well laid out place with a good collection of artefacts. The natural history gallery has a range of interactive exhibits for the younger child for which I am sure many a parent will be grateful. A pleasant way to spend a half hour or so read more

free entry, a good thing in this day and age and a great way to spend a couple of hours on a wet afternoon with the family. Changing exhibitions and some interesting local and natural history exhibits. Fantastic collection of paintings and local silver. read more
