Across multiple visits, I was rarely offered any soft-tissue mobilization or manual therapy to the affected area--treatment that should be standard in a physical therapy plan. In contrast, the other Select PT location provided both targeted manual therapy and cryotherapy (ice), which made a noticeable difference in recovery. During one appointment, the older female therapist with blondish hair held lengthy, non-clinical conversations with coworkers, including openly discussing a complaint involving herself and another therapist in front of patients, which was unprofessional. Aside from the convenient location, I cannot recommend the Cerritos facility based on these recurring issues.

Wan-Kai takes a hands-on approach to his treatment and will spend the entire hour and finding your referred pain points. He once determined that my wrist and elbow pain was stemming from the fascia in my cheeks: he used deep pressure to release the tension, and I immediately felt relief and was in awe of his expertise. You will be amazed by how much he knows about the interconnected pathways of the body that most other PTs do not, because those ones rarely spend time working with their hands literally on their patients, checking their entire bodies from head to toe. I am beyond grateful to have found Wan-Kai and his practice, and I have already decided to do everything in my power to schedule time with him when I need it, regardless of the travel or wait time that would require of me.

I have been going to Movewell for a few months for my lower back and scoliosis. I used to have…read moreintense pain during normal activities (sleeping, sitting, driving) and Stephanie is the best at providing both compassionate care and fast results! She has always doing such a wonderful job at understanding and validating my pain and providing explanations for my scoliosis misalignment. I have learned how to target specific muscles groups and engage my core during my normal activities to prevent my back pain. I have also noticed a big difference after learning breathing and stretching exercises to re-align my scoliosis. Not only does she show me how to do the exercises, but she also explains the purpose behind them. I love how Stephanie is so flexible, from writing/drawing/videoing my exercises and walking to my car to evaluate how I drive. My pain has lowered tremendously! Miguel and the MoveWell team changed my thinking on PT! The staff is super friendly and they remember you each time you come in. Miguel worked with me in creating a plan to get my pain in order. He listened to my concerns and tailored each session to create lasting results. I was actually sad when my group of sessions ended, but Miguel gave me the tools I needed to move forward. I didn't get to build rapport or have a clear idea of goals or progress or anything. Each appointment I tried to pay and they told me I didn't owe anything. I got the big bill a few months later. It would have been easier to pay as I went along. I'm not sure why they couldn't determine my copay that entire time- they had 12 weeks. I have never encountered that.
