When I walked in like a kid in a candy store I was taken back to the days of my youth. I wanted to get down there and rock it out. Lots of room, lots of ramps and a whole lot to grind on and get your skate on. Built in one of the old Milwaukee Gas Light Buildings 4 Seasons is constantly upgrading and switching things up in this premium facility that I will coin a little slice of skate heaven. A small upper room with a set of ramps and a massive lower area with all kinds of ramps and even a bowl in the back this place is a skate mecca that seems to still stand the test of time. Any kid whose into any of the sports that would use such methodical setups for fun would be psyched to tear this place up! Another hat's off to Doors Open Milwaukee for allowing the general public to experience 4 Seasons in al, its glory. Long live the thrashers and those that still are pushing the limits of the sport of skateboarding. 4 Seasons is a diamond in the rough and something I am in awe of! Cool facility, yes indeed!

We have kids who ride scooters and skateboards. One of our kiddos is a fairly advanced scooter…read morerider who rides every day. We spend quite a bit of time driving our kiddos back and forth to various skate parks in the area. My son had been begging us to take him to the new Vernon Hills Skate Park, so we headed out on a beautiful sunny day. Getting to the park was a little tricky. For some reason we missed the turn. Aspen Drive is a little hidden if you don't look out for it. When in doubt, just turn around in the Vernon Hills Police Department parking lot ;-) The skate park is new and on the smaller side. For our kids, this was a little more on the beginner level. I don't recommend it for advanced riders. The rails and ledges are limited and it's pretty flat. But, it's so nice and new. The park district did a fantastic job. I have no doubt it will get used quite a bit. It's a great place to gather with friends! Take note: There is only a little shade with a couple of covered areas Tons of parking, and there is a Walgreens nearby for those wanting a snack. The nearby Sullivan Center is actually really nice. It was closed the day they went due to Covid19. Highly recommend for those starting out. Open dawn to dusk.

Kind of reminds me of the set up in Elmhurst, IL. Skate Park, Pool, Waterpark-ish area. Another skate park I dropped my "big kid" off, but I actually ended up staying. Nice clean park, and nice area to park under a tree and read a book which is exactly what I did while waiting for J to get done skating. Very nice!

Super new and it's back open from '96. Thanks to the city of green and the DOT. options to get more people to have something to do in the summer so perfect opening time. Really great location too. You get the fresh breeze from the highway. Bring some water to stay hydrated. They have portajohns for bathroom breaks. Have fun and come check it out!!!!

Hales Corners Park is a very nice, large park with plenty of amenities for families and…read moreneighborhood fun. On the north end of the park, there's a large play structure with swings, another swingset with a sand play area, a children's splash pad water feature and restrooms. The restrooms, in particular, are very helpful for families with younger kids, or visitors who are picnicking. The south end of the park includes a parking lot, the Hales Corners swimming pool, a rock climbing structure, and a baseball diamond. The south end also features tennis courts, a veteran's memorial and the park is adjacent to the Hales Corners Public library and the Ben Hunt cabin. The park stretches out over a large field space extending to the west, and crosses a small stream to another parking area and a large open hill often used for sledding. In the winter, the Park is home to the Allison Dudek ice skating rink. This summer the Hales Corners Park was host to the Sprecher beer garden, and the park is also home to Hales Corners' 4th of July festivities and fireworks, and Hales Corners National Night Out. Back when we first moved to Milwaukee, we were out and about exploring our neighborhood and the surrounding areas and stumbled across Honey Creek nestled in Wauwatosa. Such a find and a good way to spend part of the afternoon. We even used this spot for our Christmas cards pics that year.
