Now rather than downloading the Delta Air Lines mobile application, I visited www.delta.com where I was able to check-in for my flight early, as well as snapshot my boarding pass on my phone via text in the process. As someone who had just a carry-on bag with me, it allowed me to head straight to TSA rather than to see a Delta Air Lines agent once I arrived at this airport.
As for my airport experience, TSA was not crowded at all with Tallahassee International Airport being a small airport. Even with that, I always dread going through security because of the possibility of being screened heavily, but all went smoothly! The only things I removed from my body were my jacket, backpack, and Bank of America Tallahassee Half Marathon medal placing each item inside either the bin, or my jacket pocket. After a light screening of my Garmin watch on my wrist, obsidian bracelets, and underneath my hat, I was well on my way to locate the gate within the terminal, which was not a hard find because there were only two airlines, Delta, and American Airlines.
Even though I was not hungry, I did take notice of some of the food and snack options within the terminal. Some of them that I noticed were Live Oak Grille, Coastal Way Cafe, Monroe Street Beer & Wine, and Dunkin'. Furthermore, I was relieved to purchase Tallahassee Florida postcards to add to my collection of places I have traveled to. They were pricey, which I kind of expected! And the only place within the airport that I noticed with them was Capital City News & Gifts, which also had fan apparel for some of the college sport teams in Tallahassee.
The Delta Air Lines gate I flew out of appeared professional with a very well-maintained seating area in comparison to other airlines I have flown out of. I rarely encounter boarding areas with clean seats and no trash left behind, which is just hard to unsee. I also loved that there were charging outlets that worked because it gave me the chance to charge my cell phone before boarding my flight. Whether it be the seats in the boarding area, the business centers, FAMU Comfort Room, or the Public Waiting Area, I was grateful to see so many areas with charging outlets inside of this airport.
Boarding with Delta Air Lines was very painful because I did not have a seat until boarding was near complete. That alone made me feel as though I would not get a seat, or possibly the worst one available, but thankfully it was not. I was given an exit seat that had a plethora of space.
In closing, safe travels, and blessings to all that read this review of Tallahassee International Airport.
