Here is why: 2 years ago I had my eyebrows tattooed by a technician in Texas. I needed a touch-up, mainly because I never really liked the end result from the previous technician. So I asked Skin Appeal in Tucson for a referral to a facial tattoo technician and they recommended Julia at Electric Beauty. I made an appointment with Julia and had her re-tattoo my eyebrows and she did a WONDERFUL job! See pic. (If you don't accept the numbing ointment on your eyebrows before the procedure, you will feel tiny scrapes against your skin while the procedure takes place, but its just for an instant & then it goes away quickly). When the procedure was done, she gives you medication and an ointment to put on your eyebrows, and I followed her instructions to a tee. Like I said, I LOVE them. I may go a little thicker next time, but what I have now, I wanted, so the thickness I have now wasn't Julia's idea. Then, today, even though I was apprehensive, I decided to go ahead and have her tattoo my top eye lid, with black liner. The procedure did sting a little, because again, I didn't want to be numbed, but after the procedure was done, I was fine. She said the swelling will be 2 days. I'm excited! and I can't wait to see the final result. I have my re-check and liner touch up on 4-2-22, so Ill update my review after that, with a photo.

Julia took note of the aesthetics I like just by talking to me in a really nice conversation. I have extremely long lashes and I informed her I use a medium rod, although it may seem i need a large. I specifically explained to Melissa why I need a medium rod because I KNOW MY LASHES. Thankfully, the job that was done was so substandard in every way that 2 years later you can't even see it so you don't know how bad it was. The woman who does the permanent makeup, Victoria, is from Mexico so when trying to make her understand the color I was going for, it was lost in translation. And when I made the appointment, I wasn't told to bring in a sample of lipstick to show the color I was going for so she was just guessing at that point. The first time it was done all crooked and uneven and the darker liner had "deposits" of color on certain spots that was very dark. When I went back for touch ups I brought a lipstick so that helped her a little but at that point she was just doing damage control. For my third appointment (touch ups again) I was put in a room and sat there for 30 minutes before I went out into the reception area to ask what was going on. I had been forgotten and Victoria had started to color another woman's hair at that point so I was out of luck. I had taken off work early for this appointment. So, I made another appointment and left furious! My FOURTH appointment went off without a hitch but that was the last free touch up and my lips still didn't look anything like I wanted. Victoria insisted on taking photos for "before and after" shots even though I told her she never took a before photo. In fact, at my first appointment I asked to see her portfolio so I could point out what I liked and she had no portfolio! Xanadu charges $400 for permanent makeup on the lips (that's liner and fill) and you get 6 months touch ups for free. But, the lips have to heal in between so touch ups are every 6 weeks approximately. If you shop around you'll find that other places charge for touch ups. I'm guessing it's because they do it right the first time. And, let me tell you, it is painful. And I still subjected myself to it 4 times, hoping she'd finally get it right. Unfortunately she never did.
