I went to Dr. Adams, and the very competent and friendly woman quickly showed me the various options. All the way through, she assisted me in any aspect of the purchase, and helped with my questions, "concerns" and considerations.. The store itself has a lot of high-end brands, and the suit from Filipa K was also not cheap (3900,- DKK) but it's super high quality, absolutely great, and with a service like this, I'm happy to pay a little more.. The suit fits perfect, and I'm sure I'll come back to Dr. Adams next time I'm around!

This place reminds me of what hobby and craft stores used to look like back in the states, before it all became about low cost and cheap quality. In almost every section, you can find top shelf brands and high quality supplies here, with everything from sewing to scrap booking to stationary and writing implements. The latter is what brought me in on this most recent occasion (late July, 2019) and I was not disappointed. Among the many offerings, what stuck out the most was a wide selection of Faber Castell. For the uninitiated, they're a German brand that has historically put out some very nice pens, pencils, erasers and even leads. In my case, I was looking to shore up my selection of mechanical pencils, and was thrilled to find that they stocked the GRIP 1345 pencils, in both .7mm and .5mm. These are the sought after "GRIP" models, as opposed to the newer version, colloquially referred to as "GRIP II", which I'm not overly fond of. In addition to great looks, retractable tip, excellent balance and considerable heft, the GRIP 1345 is a Japanese-made import (probably made by Penac), so quality is top tier. You can safely wager that you would not find anything this nice in a hobby supply store in the states (only China-made garbage like most of the current Alvin Draftmatic pencils), so it's always great to be able to pick up the good, hard to obtain stuff while I'm traveling in Denmark. If you're meandering about Gågade and have any kind of hobby, craft, stationary or writing implement needs, definitely check this place out. My only regret is that we'll never have these in the states!

This is actually a very interesting place, part bookstore, part office supply store (the literal…read moretranslation of kontorforsyning, after all), but also has a lot of art/craft and stationary supplies too. It's long been a staple in Nyborg, and I've been stopping in off and on over the last decade, sometimes looking for a book, sometimes pens/pencils and other times just for little things like greeting cards or the like. I've very rarely left empty handed, and prices are often fairly competitive. It's also located in a nice part of town and has a neat entryway, tucked under an alcove and out of the weather. The only reason I hesitate to give five stars is that, despite looking perfectly legit and not at all like wandering vagrants (or hipsters, the distinction is minimal, after all), my wife and I always seem to get the stink eye in this place. I don't know if the person doing it is the owner or what, but they literally just stare at us the entire time we shop in there. No asking if we need help or anything, or have questions, just gawking at us in the most overt way possible until we make a purchase. On my last trip, I'd have loved to keep looking at a few mechanical pencils and pens up near the register, but being within an arms length of the cashier, who continued to stare at me even though I already had some items in hand, I opted to just buy what I came for, which was a beautiful Penac NP-Trifit .5mm (try finding those in the states!) and a Uni Millino .5mm that I spotted (long since discontinued and largely unavailable) and be done with it. I dunno, maybe it was the fact that we were speaking English to each other and not Danish, but it isn't as if we were speaking some Eastern European dialect and constantly looking over our shoulder for a chance to steal something. What's more, we were mainly looking at mechanical pencils, most of which (with the exception of the Penac) were a whopping 39 DKK at most. For the uninitiated, that works out to barely more than $6 USD. Bottom line, I still highly recommend this place, and I'm sure I'll go back next time to see what other uncommon pens and pencils they've gotten. If I don't get the stink eye next time, I'll happily update this to a 5-star review, which it otherwise deserves to have.

What a fantastic place! Despite the name "plantorama", there really is a lot more here than your…read moretypical nursery. They carry a very wide selection, and are basically an all around plant, pet supply and garden center rolled into one. Inside, you'll find a huge selection of accessories for pets, everything from birds and small mammals (rabbits, chickens, hamsters, etc.) to dogs, cats and even fish. Also inside is a wide selection of indoor planters from top brands like Scheurich, along with some interior decor and even patio furniture (upstairs). If you venture into their outdoor/garden section, you'll be greeted with an enormous selection of plants, ranging from indoor to outdoor and including everything from succulents to carnivorous plants. What's more, they have a very good selection of top quality garden tools, including Wolf-Garten, a German brand and my personal favorite. I didn't have much room in my suitcase, but I still snagged a few choice items here, including their professional anvil-style pruners and their small hand rake (both of which I had been unable to locate state side). I could have bought a lot more, had I room and weight in the suitcase, but that will have to wait for next time. If you're in the neighborhood or shopping at the adjacent Bauhaus home improvement store, you really have to drop in and check this place out. The gardening tool and plant selection is worlds apart and they carry far more Wolf-Garten here than in Bauhaus. Everything was well stocked, all the plants looked fantastic and the entire place was about as close to garden center nirvana as it gets. I wish I had found this place sooner and can't wait to go back on my next trip to Denmark and throw more of my money at them.

Surprising that nobody has reviewed this place yet, given what a wonderful experience it is to…read morevisit. First and foremost, the planteskole is a nursery, but this place is so much more than that, and probably the nicest nursery I've visited on all of Fyn. For starters, when you first walk inside, you're greeted with large and diverse section of arts/crafts type goods, mainly garden oriented but also some home decor stuff (and -lots- for the holidays, if you visit that time of year). Past that, they also have a really nice, traditional section for gardening supplies and carry some very nice brands (e.g. Gardena, Fiskars and the like), and even pet-related supplies (and food). Their main draw, however, is of course their plant selection. They have a large indoor and outdoor areas, which is nice for visits in the winter when you'd prefer not to be outside too long, but still like to look around and see some variety. There are tons of plants, ranging from houseplants to succulents and (most recently) even some legit cacti. Believe it or not, they even have, regularly, carnivorous plants available for sale here, including venus fly traps, North American pitcher plants and sometimes even tropical pitcher plants. Outside, you'll find (seasonally) lots of shrubs, berries, grape, hedge and other standard Scandinavian fare, along with tons of trees (apple, cherry, nut, citrus and others). In the winter, it can be a bit empty outside, for obvious reasons, but there's still plenty of holiday-related fare to be had, including whole Christmas trees as well as branches and other goods for craft working or making decorations. Another attraction here that you won't find in too many nurseries is a wonderful walk-thru garden that they've put together, somewhat visible from the nearby main road through Langeskov. Here you'll find several different areas along a walking path, where you can see different garden ideas and concepts, with plants well labeled and thoughtfully placed. There's an awesomely tall and well sculptured hedge, as well as one of the nicest (and largest) monkey trees that you'll find anywhere on all of Fyn. There's even a small Japanese style garden here, complete with a small pond, stones and statuary, how cool is that? I always make it a point to visit this section, as it always offers something different through the seasons and makes for great photography. That and I just like checking out the awesome monkey tree, because specimens this large are not easy to find! If you're into birding at all, they also typically have several large aviaries throughout the indoor section of the nursery, housing anything from budgies to parakeets to conures. They can get noisy sometimes, but they are usually pretty friendly and fun to interact with. Seems to be something different every time, depending on what local bird clubs have on loan to them. Finally, it is worth mentioning that they have a large and well stocked cafe located inside, where you can sit down and relax after having taken in all this place has to offer. In the winter, it's just about perfect to come inside after a tour of the outside garden and warm up with a hot drink. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Langeskov, I highly encourage anyone in the area to check them out. Totally worth the time and, even if you don't buy anything, you'll have a fun time and see some great sites at this seemingly hidden gem.
