My boyfriend ordered the Grilled Jerk Chicken (which he liked) with Chips and I had the Beef Steak (stew) with rice & beans. I must say the regular size portion was big for me - just £5 - but the taste of this dish was just yummy! The rice was lovely well-seasoned and the steak was melting in my mouth. Parked up for free outside after 6pm, which is a winner, and the pizza guys were friendly on my entrance and more than helpful with picking different toppings. I went for 4 large pizzas- BBQ chicken, veggie, ham and pineapple and a spicy meat one, all with a kick of spice and hotness which was just what we wanted. I tried a 7 inch goats cheese and veg small pizza which was a great starter along with wedges and wings. The BBQ wings were tastier than those at a few specialised Wing places in Manchester! Very affordable for what you get, and all the girls were happy and full after we indulged in the whole lot. Now I'm at the gym running it all off .... 5 star pizza takeaway place!

It's true that I can't think of any other Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants in the Stockport area and only 1 in Manchester city centre (Arndale food market) but from enjoying their Curry goat with rice and peas (£5.50) this lunch time, the food was so tasty that I'd have to say that in spite of a lack of rivals they really do live up to their name! Cari-best probably isn't the sort of place you'd bring a first date along to, but if you're after good quality food in a relaxed setting then this is your place. The 2 guys working there today were probably no older than 20 but seemed to be having a good laugh at work and you could have a good bit of banter with them. Their choice of DMX, dancehall reggae and deep dub definitely helped me get my chilled out vibes on while eating my curry and reading the paper. They also do delivery within 3 miles for orders over £15 and are open to 7pm in winter, much later in summer. Overall I'm looking forward to going back and would recommend them if you're fed up with the usual takeaway staples on the high street.

It's a minimum order of £9 for delivery and an extra 50p to pay on card and £1 to deliver so the costs start to stack up if you're just after a quick bite. The chow mein was perfectly nice, the vege side order ok too but unfortunately they didn't serve Chinese chips and I just got what was general rubbishy takeaway chips (I only ate half and binned the others) - it all came to £11 with delivery. Not bad and sorted me out but they probably won't be waiting by the phone when the next Michelin star awards are announced...

The Karma team prepare a daily changing menu of authentic home-style Indian food which is delivered to your desk in a specially insulated tiffin. The meal consists of rice and chapati, a veg dish and dhal and a choice of meat of vegetarian main. And the food is good. Really good. So good in fact that it made me think of my Mum. Plus it's perfectly portioned so you're satisfied without the post-lunch slump. How much? A fiver. Yes - a fiver! For a proper plateful. You can barely pick up a coffee and croissant for that around here. Get some karma in your life.

Working out here in Sharston, my culinary choices for lunch when I can't be bothered preparing ahead are somewhat limited. Since my office discovered a) that this place existed and b) that it was actually good, we've ordered that frequently that the staff are starting to recognise us! In terms of their offering, they have both breakfast and lunch options. My usual breakfast choice is a bacon and egg barm with brown sauce and 2 hash browns for extra carb factor. Now, I'm normally wary of bacon that wasn't cooked by me because places like these usually serve it up barely cooked and still wriggling. B&B serve it cooked sufficiently that the fat/rind is crisp but not so that the meat is brittle as heck. Portion wise, the barms are a decent size but for those with a super-hearty appetite they also do a "Vienna" option. Think foot long sub size, but wider - though this option only results in you getting more bread, you don't get any more filling. The lunch options are solid too. My most recent lunch order was the spicy Mediterranean beef on a barm. Whilst I couldn't pick out why it was "Mediterranean", it was more like sweet chilli beef, the actual barm was - and I'm not exaggerating here - the size of my face. Most stuff comes in under £4-5 for a more than adequate amount of food - I've yet to walk away from a Bread & Butties order feeling hungry. If you're in the area, and need lunch, this place is a much better shout than Greggs or Subway at the nearby BP because you'll get a LOT more for your £. (They also have a shop in Cheadle. This is the Northenden one.)
