Absolutely Disgusting, unhygienic and raw!!!…read more That's what my Omlette was that I just ordered, it had far too much cheese and was far too greasy to the point where I could of drank the grease in the tray......this made me very nauseated and has ruined my day Avoid this place at all costs!
Bread & Butties in Northenden may look like just a sandwich shop - but it's a really good sandwich…read moreshop. Working out here in Sharston, my culinary choices for lunch when I can't be bothered preparing ahead are somewhat limited. Since my office discovered a) that this place existed and b) that it was actually good, we've ordered that frequently that the staff are starting to recognise us! In terms of their offering, they have both breakfast and lunch options. My usual breakfast choice is a bacon and egg barm with brown sauce and 2 hash browns for extra carb factor. Now, I'm normally wary of bacon that wasn't cooked by me because places like these usually serve it up barely cooked and still wriggling. B&B serve it cooked sufficiently that the fat/rind is crisp but not so that the meat is brittle as heck. Portion wise, the barms are a decent size but for those with a super-hearty appetite they also do a "Vienna" option. Think foot long sub size, but wider - though this option only results in you getting more bread, you don't get any more filling. The lunch options are solid too. My most recent lunch order was the spicy Mediterranean beef on a barm. Whilst I couldn't pick out why it was "Mediterranean", it was more like sweet chilli beef, the actual barm was - and I'm not exaggerating here - the size of my face. Most stuff comes in under £4-5 for a more than adequate amount of food - I've yet to walk away from a Bread & Butties order feeling hungry. If you're in the area, and need lunch, this place is a much better shout than Greggs or Subway at the nearby BP because you'll get a LOT more for your £. (They also have a shop in Cheadle. This is the Northenden one.)
Always a risk going with a new takeaway. Particularly one that seems to be mirroring another famous…read morePortuguese restaurant. Fear not, for the food at Perito's is outstanding. In typical "eyes bigger than our stomachs" style, we ordered quesadillas, nachos, burritos and chips. They were all excellent. And so filling. He burrito is a meal in itself. Bonus - the chips are brilliant. Chip shop style. Good service - just on time and friendly face at the door. Highly recommend.

Parked up for free outside after 6pm, which is a winner, and the pizza guys were friendly on my entrance and more than helpful with picking different toppings. I went for 4 large pizzas- BBQ chicken, veggie, ham and pineapple and a spicy meat one, all with a kick of spice and hotness which was just what we wanted. I tried a 7 inch goats cheese and veg small pizza which was a great starter along with wedges and wings. The BBQ wings were tastier than those at a few specialised Wing places in Manchester! Very affordable for what you get, and all the girls were happy and full after we indulged in the whole lot. Now I'm at the gym running it all off .... 5 star pizza takeaway place!

My boyfriend ordered the Grilled Jerk Chicken (which he liked) with Chips and I had the Beef Steak (stew) with rice & beans. I must say the regular size portion was big for me - just £5 - but the taste of this dish was just yummy! The rice was lovely well-seasoned and the steak was melting in my mouth. Gourmet Rasta indeed ;)

Buddha Express is conveniently located on Upper Brook Street so can be accessed by students,…read morehospital workers and maybe University staff. There are a few tables and chairs on the inside and out, so you can choose to eat it. They serve some dim sum, rice and noodle dishes but the highlight is really in the special dishes, which you wouldn't normally find in a standard Chinese. I stopped by here at around 9:30pm on Friday 27th June and ordered a won ton noodles to go. Unfortunately, the won tons were really small, smaller than they used to be, and the skin was coming apart from the won ton. I also got food poisoning from eating this, so I won't be coming back now. This is a shame, as it was really good when it opened. I especially liked their soup noodle dishes and they used to do bitter melon with ribs :(
