I'm so glad that the Merrys are covered for me, & if they ever happen to end up out of network, I might consider breaking my personal rule so I can continue to be their client. I had no wait in their office for my annual check up & cleaning, except for the few minutes that I took to update my paperwork. The front desk staff was helpful when I explained my insurance doesn't mail cards for us to use at appointments, & they were able to get my benefit info any way. Graham took care of my annual exam, & Kelly took on my cleaning. Both were super professional & better yet, friendly! It was one of the most entertaining dental appointments that I have had because Kelly kept the conversation going & we chattered about high school & college reunions. If you're the type of person who hates conversing with your health care providers, then this isn't the office for you, but if you enjoy a more personal experience & forming a trusting relationship with them (& being treated like a person, not a patient), then don't pass up the Bruce Merry office! I feel they tried to trick me into agreeing to a $937 procedure. I went in for the new patient special - $100 for a cleaning and inspection. They recommended I get a nightguard to prevent my teeth wearing (for $937!). The secretary I spoke with on the way out explained the nightguard, then handed me a piece of paper saying (I'm paraphrasing) "I agree to have this procedure performed at a later date and pay all costs." She told me "please sign at the bottom" agreeing that I EXPLAINED it to you, then let's talk about your next appointment." I said "I'm not comfortable signing because I don't want to go ahead with the procedure." She said "you're just signing agreeing I EXPLAINED it to you, not that you agree to pay and have it done." I said " that's not what the contract says." What if I believed her and signed, chose not to have the procedure done, and then noticed months later a $937 charge on my card? Could I later go back and say "she told me I was just signing agreeing that she EXPLAINED it to me, NOT to pay for the procedure?" They'd say "well, you signed it, so you're screwed." Luckily this didn't happen because I didn't sign, but I had another business scam me like this (Anytime Fitness) and they denied telling me that. The lesson is ALWAYS read what you sign and never trust what they tell you verbally. I can't prove this was the intent but it makes me VERY suspicious. No matter how great their service, this completely ruins it for me.

I can say that it is not easy to do, especially when I had trusting relationship with my dentist of many years. At that time my son recommended Dr. Dickey, saying "mom, I think Dr. Dickey will be right for you because he is awesome and I trust him with all my dental work". It was enough for me, and since then I also formed trusting relationship with Dr. Dickey and his dental team. He is very professional, with a great work ethics and personal communication skills. His explanations of the procedures are simple and clear, and all the dental work is done quality and good. Last year my daughter and son in law become Dr. Dickey's patient's through my recommendation and also are very pleased with his practice. I would love to recommend Dr. Dickey to anyone who will ask me.

In the past, the office also canceled appointments and did not reschedule them in a timely manner, making it difficult to maintain consistent dental care. Most recently, when I called to schedule an appointment, the front desk informed me that the doctor was backed up and, because too much time had passed since my last visit, they would not be able to see me. The lack of communication and difficulty scheduling appointments left me feeling unsupported as a patient. I hope they can improve their responsiveness and patient scheduling process in the future.
