My daughter was so excited to join this dance program after her dance teacher at school recommended…read moreit. I wanted to support her, but I was skeptical from the beginning. I've lived in Los Angeles my entire life and had never heard of this studio. The cost was also very high for the location. I was told the total program cost would be $1,500. I wasn't comfortable paying the full amount upfront, so I decided to make a smaller payment first to see how things went. Looking back, I wish I had trusted my instincts. During the first week, my daughter told me they were served sloppy joe meat without bread for lunch. That immediately confused me since Food 4 Less is literally next door. I expected children to be provided with complete meals. I asked about the weekly menu so I could pack my daughter lunch if she didn't like what was being served. Instead of answering my question, I was told she doesn't cook the meals, someone else does, and that they "cook what's on their heart." I found that response dismissive and it didn't address my concern about what my child was eating. I also noticed my daughter kept coming home with a dead phone. When I asked her why, she said the girls spent a lot of the day playing and being on their phones. I was also told pickup would be between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. When I arrived at 4:30 one day, I received a long text saying I needed to start picking my daughter up by 3:30 because the instructor had other things to do after class. Since I work and couldn't leave that early, I had to arrange for my mom to pick her up. Even then, my mom would arrive at 3:30 and end up waiting outside for nearly an hour because practice didn't actually begin until parents arrived. It made no sense. Later, I was informed at the last minute that Saturday practices would now be required because the group was "unique" and needed extra rehearsal. That was frustrating because my daughter had already told me they spent a lot of the day playing instead of practicing. As someone who danced for over 15 years and whose daughter has been dancing for more than four years, I believe a dance instructor should be able to assess the students' skill levels early in the program and plan accordingly instead of adding mandatory practices with little notice. Whenever I asked what the girls actually did throughout the day, I never received a direct answer. Instead, I was sent a Google definition explaining the difference between a musical and a recital, which had nothing to do with the question I asked. I simply wanted to know the daily schedule and how my child was spending her time. Communication was another major issue. There were several occasions when the instructor didn't show up to the gym without notifying parents. The only reason I knew what was happening most days was because my daughter would tell me. The program also advertised two field trips. In reality, those "field trips" were simply walks to the local park and splash pad. That was disappointing because it wasn't what I expected when the program was being promoted. When I finally expressed my concerns about the communication, scheduling, and how the business was being run, I was told I was being disrespectful and that my tone was disrespectful. Every conversation took place through text messages, so I don't think it's fair to assume my tone. I was simply asking questions about my child and the money I was paying. Shortly after raising those concerns, my daughter was removed from the program. This was advertised as a professional and trustworthy dance studio. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. As a parent, I believe it's reasonable to ask questions about how my child is being cared for, what she's doing throughout the day, and how my money is being spent. Instead of receiving transparency, I felt dismissed. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this program to other parents.

I recently attended a concert at the Miracle Theater in Inglewood to see my friend Kobie Dozier and…read morehis band perform, and I had a great experience! The theater itself is fantastic. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, and the sound quality is impeccable. The venue has a unique seating setup where you purchase tickets by section rather than by individual seat, and then choose your seats within that area. I actually loved that arrangement because it offered some flexibility while still keeping things organized. The staff and owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful in person, which made the experience even better. My only frustration was trying to contact the theater beforehand. Their phone recording instructs callers to leave a message, but the beep never comes, making it impossible to actually leave one. I also didn't receive a response to my email inquiry. If you have questions before an event, that can be a little irritating. That said, once you're there, the experience is wonderful. Great venue, great atmosphere, and excellent acoustics. I'd definitely return for another show!

We had met him at another event in Beverly Hills a few weeks before, chatted with him (a really great guy as well as a great jazz musician). We signed up for the entire event from the soundcheck which was an amazing show (with the choir) in its own right - and there were relatively few people in the audience (in total I think the venue seats 228 people. BTW there is ample parking all around if you are willing to walk a block. The soul food buffet was very good, and even included a glass of wine, beer or soda. Would we return? Absolutely and
