I haven't been to Thailand (yet), but I always hear about the wonders of the massage styles and…read moretechniques. Fortunately, I can experience a bit of the culture right here in Canton, thanks to Thai Touch, a massage and spa that opened its doors in January of this year. They've really made the effort to create a harmonising and serene environment, from the barely audible instrumental music and warm colour palettes to the dark wood furnishings and regional ornaments - and this is just in the reception area! With extensive services ranging from "Sneha" hot candle massage to reflexology massage, Thai Touch offers reasonable prices (from £25 for 30 minutes) in what appears to be an authetic and soothing atmosphere. For those eligible folks, Thai Touch also offers OAP and student rates as well.

Love Thailand, look Thai food, love Thai culture - ooh, and I love Thai massage! So, that said, I'm…read moreobviously very happy to see this tranquil new massage clinic open up in Cardiff, offering traditional Thai massages. Once you've had a really deep Thai massage, with all the Yoga-like stretching and manipulation that's also involved in this technique, most other types of massage may seem a bit too lightweight in comparison. If you're not used to the Thai technique, however, they will moderate it to suit your personal preference so you can enjoy a gentler version if you find it too brutal! It costs £40 for an hour, which I don't think is too bad considering how great you feel after being kneaded and stretched for all that time, and the amount of effort the masseur has to put in. They also do head, hand, back and shoulder and aromatherapy massages - but it's definitely the traditional Thai ones I'll be going back there for!

To start, they've gone AI so the telephone is mind blowingly bad. Especially the Welsh. They do…read morehave a token Welsh speaker but he refuses to use the language. Receptionist, absolutely fantastic if you get one of the 3 good ones, if you happen to not get one of the good ones, good luck. Doctors, the doctors are amazing if you get one of the 2 good ones (usually a locum), if you don't get one of the good ones, then good luck. If your a woman, then don't see the female doctors, as they will tell you that being a woman you should learn to sucks up pain, you deserve to be in pain, you should stop moaning, stop wasting time, women deserve pain, get a grip, lose weight... If you see a male doctor, then you'll probably be dismissed as hysterical or a time waster or my favourite, nope I don't believe you so I'm going to ignore everything you've told me. I don't think that last one is just the male doctors in ashgrove, cos I've experienced it in the hospital also. You will find it near impossible to see the same doctor twice! Nurses, pretty good, they seem to have got the nurses right! Hence the 2 stars (: I been in ashgrove since i was about 9 when we moved to pontypridd, I tried leaving to go to another surgery but got totally overwhelmed by the paperwork needed to transfer, cos with modern technology you'd think it'd be a bit simpler than half a tree worth of paper and the old fashioned way of filling in a form for another person to put it on the system, and when you need it done for 4 people, then overwhelmed. I would not recommend ashgrove to anyone new to the area
