Horrible experience. Went in for a simple fix. They were constantly trying to upsell us for service the cart does not require - essentially predatory business practices. Taking advantage of my old mother. They prey on older folks and price gouge - do not send your folks to this place. We are also filling a compliant with the better business bureau. read more

We had a good experience buying our cart in 2022 but cannot recommend their service. We went online to book yearly maintenance and scheduled for a Monday. They called me on Saturday saying they were full on Monday. Then why have it available in your online system? So they picked up the cart the next Friday and then called us on Saturday saying they would have it ready by Thursday. (It even says this on the receipt). I called on Friday and they said a service advisor would call me right back. They never did. I called back Friday afternoon and after a long wait, they told they had just started the battery test. I called back on Saturday as suggested and at first was told to call back on Monday. When I told them I had been promised completion last Thursday they told me all the batteries were dead. They replaced them with lithium for $3100 on a two year old $9000 Icon cart. When they dropped it off, they told me it was 100% charged, which the dash showed, but the tiny LCD above the charge port showed 45%. Now I find out they didn't install the Eco lithium dash panel so now the dash is useless for battery charge or voltage, something their own employee apparently did not know. read more

From sales (with Jeremy) to the rare service activity to the delivery of the cart - 5 stars across the board. Their prices are competitive, but it's the people/long-term relationship that are the differentiator here. I just bought my latest cart, and the process could not have been better. Sent my golf cart in to get the batteries replaced and to have voltage regulator put in to run all accessories. When they finished they returned it to me saying there is a short in the directional. They quoted another 560 dollars to replace the harness. I told them that everything worked before I sent it in . They responded no it wasn't the batteries were dead. i thought very sarcastic answer. So I told them to send it back, I'll check it out. Got it back , drove it down the street and it went up in flames? check out the work they did come to find out they only hooked up one thing to the 200 dollar voltage regulator every else was still wired to the batteries. Which I found out they hooked up 48 volts to a 12 volt wiring harness . When I brought it up to them they denied everything and said they did every thing correct maybe the new batteries had more power than the old ones. I said no, using a voltage meter confirmed 48 volt where there only should be 12 volts. so I ripped out the voltage regulator and returned it to them for a refund. When I got there there was a sign out front mechanics wanted sign out front. So beware they do not stand behind there work! I would advise look somewhere else for repairs! read more

I like what they do everything is a timely manner.. The only thing I have a problem with is they don't accept checks. I wasn't told that and went to pay with a check - no checks- so a credit card was used instead. Please inform your customers of this. Only cart place I know that won't accept checks. read more

I have left numerous messages and emails inquiring about purchasing a golf cart for months now and still no response. This has been close to 6 months. I've even checked to see if they were still in business. The least they could do is message me back to say they have no golf carts due to the shortage, something. Extremely disappointed in this dealership. We bought our golf cart 2 yrs ago and we were very happy with the Icon. We then decided to have upgrades done to be able to license it with DMV. We were quoted $700, which we agreed to, they picked up the cart. 3 weeks later, we receive a call to get authorization for the work, which will now cost $927. It sat outside for 3 wks in the rain. We requested the cart be returned. The statement lists $300 for parts...so over $600 for labor? We then found the DOT approved windshield on Amazon, along with other items required by DMV....for less then $400. Hmmm. read more

My charging cord for my icon i40 broke so a call to Performance carts and with their great customer service a new cord was delivered to my home. Let me state that I asked on their next pickup or delivery in my sub-division that they drop it off. I couldn't ask for better service then that. read more

I recently had to replace some parts for my golf cart that I was having some difficulty finding. A quick google search put me in touch with the very capable hands at Performance Plus Carts, in Auburndale, Fla. A quick (really quick) call to their 1-800 number and I was all set. The receptionist asked how she could help, and immediately went to work on my request. When she realized, (as I already had), that this was a tricky 'describe the parts' situation, she quickly transferred me to Mr. Parts himself, Matt in their parts dept. and less than five minutes later, I was looking at the part list and exactly what I needed. When 1 part subsequently was showing 'out of stock' when I ordered it later, I called again, and again I got a real person answering. These folks had already read my e-mail from late Fri evening on early Mon morning, and already had the back ordered part on order. NOTE: All businesses, large and small, could learn a lesson on customer service by doing these seemingly insignificant things that are really very significant to those of us needing the help! Answer the call, and get the caller in touch with the folks who can get the job done! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! After ordering I realized that I ordered an EZ Go back seat for my Yamaha golf cart. I called the company to discuss and possibly exchange the item for the correct backseat. I was told that even if I exchange my item for the correct brand, I am still charged a $70 restocking fee. The boxes were never opened and I contacted the company before the items. read more

Probably the rudest and uncaring people in business. Wife and I drove up, walked into a side room , looked at some golf carts and then went into the main office. There was a girl sitting in an office that would not even acknowledge our presence, never said a word, then a guy in another office playing on his phone, also never acknowledged us, looked at my wife and said " We are out of here", guess they have so much business they don't feel the need to greet or help customers. I am sure there are many other golf cart sales facilities that understand what customers mean to their business, highly recommend you find a better place to purchase a cart!!! read more

I ordered a rear seat kit for my golf cart and was having trouble with the instructions. Amanda answered my call, looked up the cart SN and confirmed I had ordered the correct kit. Rather than simply ending the call at that point she sent me an email and offered to connect with me a tech who couLd coach me through the installation. It rare that customer service is personal especially with on line sales .. but Amanda and Performance Plus are unique, helpful and cost effective (saved $500 versus purchasing from local cart dealer). Performance Plus picked up my Icon golf cart on July 22 and said it would be back in a few days. We wanted two new tires, alignment, and service. The driver (John) showed up early in the day around 11:00 complaining how exhausted he was. I told him the keys are in the ignition and the charger is in the cubby inside the golf cart. He said, "OK." He then proceeded to take pictures of the cart. My cart was finally ready two weeks later (today, August 3) the driver dropped off the cart and had me pay (they will only take cash or credit cards) then once again he took pictures of the golf cart. He started to leave and I asked, "where are my keys." The driver said there were no keys. I said, "Oh yes there were, they were in the ignition and my mailbox key was on the chain." The driver then called his boss and the driver that picked up my cart. They both insisted that no keys were in it. After a lot of denying, they looked at the "pick-up" pictures and realized that the keys were in the ignition when they took it. Long story short, after talking to many different people, they cannot find my keys. This could have been a good review. I do not expect a lot, but I expect to be given back what was taken from me. I will not use this company again. The driver that dropped my cart off today, told me that they bought another golf cart company and are having a hard time keeping up with the new load of business. read more

They don't stand behind their products. Purchased a golf cart that was to recieve PDI and detailing prior to delivery. Recieved cart with rear shocks disconnected and damaged (was pointed out at purchase). Company said rear shocks were not needed with leaf spring lift... so why not remove them?! Also, batteries were hanging out from under the cart, and all cables were severely corroded and damaged. Detail was far from acceptable. Cart was sold with lift that was not meant for cart, AND installed incorrectly. Went to shop multiple times where it was kept for weeks at a time. Service department is horrible, and cart always returned with a problem if not same problem. Cart was also sold and delivered without ANY cotter pins which is a massive safety issue. The nail in the coffin was the heim joint completely breaking/ falling out causing the entire tire to come off which could have ended very badly. This is after it just came back from the shop for steering/suspension repairs including an alignment. They try to use the excuse that the cart has been "modified" since purchase, however, only modified to "fix" their lift job and put it together appropriately. Their warranty is a joke! read more

I bought a new top for my golf cart and a rear view mirror for my golf cart on May 30, 2018. When it arrived, we opened the box and began putting it on our golf cart. The mirror was broken so we did not take it out of the box. The top was missing the brackets to secure it to the rear posts and install it on the golf cart. I had professional mechanics doing the work for me and I was present. They said without the brackets they could not put the top on. I called Performance Plus and asked for help. They sent me a more detailed pdf of the installation steps by email. Once we received those, we were able to verify exactly what was missing. When I called back, they could not help me and said someone would call me to help me with it. No one ever called. So we had to put the old top back on the golf cart so it could continue being used. I decided to return the top since we could not use it without the parts. Performance Plus refused to cover the cost of shipping it back and are saying I have to pay a 20% penalty (restocking fee) if I return it. So I have a broken mirror (they said they would replace it but they have not done so) and a golf cart top that their own instructions prove we cannot install without the required pieces that they did not send and they won't allow me to return it unless I pay for shipping and agree to the 20% penalty. So frustrating! read more
