Nonetheless, I decided to put my son in charter. Best decision I made for him. He was able to focus, catch up and complete high school, on his own time, EARLY! At first he was behind but honestly, without the staff, the support and the commitment these teachers have for their student's, these student's won't thrive. The love and dedication is shown in their work. My son has gained confidence, knowledge and knows he NOW can accomplish anything, given the right tools and people there to guide him. Thank you to his teacher Mrs.Michelle Ramirez and all of the others who have helped along the way. Giving my son motivation to push forward and get better every day, we couldn't do it without you! Honoring the students in such a beautiful graduation ceremony to celebrate their wins is honestly every parents dream. We cannot wait till June. It really takes a village to raise a child. I previously worked at this school (and many other schools in the area). And Mr. Moran is my favorite teacher I have met. He is amazing with the students, I have never seen him yell or be anything but appropriate in the 6 years I have known him. He us straight forward, if you don't like the cold hard truth you won't like him either. He won't sugar coat things for the sensitive. It is really that simple. There are some parents that have unrealistic expectations of people, and resort to slander when they do not get their way. I am most certain I know who the person is that keeps making new profiles and slandering an amazing teacher. And it is of no surprise to me she stoops to this level. As for the other review, there are 3 to 4 staff on the playground at any given time, to watch 100 to 200 students at a time. I am a parent volunteer and rarely see (there are a few others here regularly) parents volunteering on the playground. Come on out at lunchtime. I guarantee you that within a few minutes no less than 10 students will run up to you saying teacher teacher, she pushed me, he took my ball, she kicked me, he hit me, and on and on. Seriously, come on out and be additional eyes. Until then, you are creating more of a problem. Bayside is an amazing school, staff that truly care about the students and their education.

The superintendent that works this district seems very knowledgable and very friendly. All in all I think Lemon Grove has a good school system.

The majority of students are not proficient in reading or math and never have been as far as I know. In fact you may be wondering why teacher salaries are so high in this underachieving school district? While the Union is very strong, district admin is very weak. They tend to favor internal employees when filling positions when it is clear that outside expertise is desperately needed. While working there, principals did not hold teachers accountable and wrote favorable evaluations for either fear of backlash or to placate a colleague. They didn't even require teachers to plan together regularly in this district and still don't . That is amazing. . LGSD is by far the worst district I have ever worked for. I did not grow and develop professionally as a teacher should. Can someone explain why their scale is so much higher than other districts who are actually doing the work??? Now is the time to band together and hold the district accountable. If you don't, a year or more from now you'll wish you had.

I probably should've wrote this review a long time ago but this school's principal plays favorites and does not care for every child the same. Admittedly, I know I was a problem child during my time in this school and I have caused issues here and there, but the principal here just doesn't treat every child the same and basically gave me little to no respect as a kid. I really did want to try and be better, but her attitude and "under her breath" responses did not help me, whatsoever. She would give me side eyes and attitude with tone and she clearly had it for me and some of my classmates at the time I was here. For a school principal, she really lacks respect for the kids who attend this school, especially since their parents pay her salary. Students, on the other hand, it is a very mixed bag. For me, I just do not think the classroom environment a lot of the time felt welcoming at all. A good portion of my time here, I did not feel welcome nor did I ever feel like I belonged, no matter how hard I tried, especially if your child is a very hyper individual. The school, itself, is just fine and during my time here, the only real positive I have for the school are the teachers. The teachers were basically the main highlight and made me want to continue my education and a lot of their words and lessons still impact me to this day. I do think the staff of the school care deeply for the students, except for the principal. Parents, you are better off sending your child elsewhere if you don't want your child feeling like they don't belong somewhere. Honestly, I just wish my time and memories of this school was just a lot more pleasant.
