I brought my dog Summer to Perfect Pooches for doggie boot camp. When my husband and I adopted Summer she was about 6months. Needless to say neither one of us knew how to train her. After adopting a 5 1/2 year old husky from a a family who could no longer care for her we took her in knowing little about how to work with a dog who had little to no training . I came across Perfect Pooches after talking to and researching a lot of other trainers and facilities . Unlike the other facilities Tim was quick to answer my call and give me the low down on every detail there was to know about how his training program worked and everything I needed to know about bringing in a new dog and then some ! He is extremely knowledgeable and real when it comes to working with dogs and tricky behaviors they may have. Tim is there every step of the way to make sure you are getting the most of this training experience and really takes his time to make you feel confident to carry out the structure and habits he has laid out for your dog . Upon arriving he makes sure it's important your dog feels safe and gives them a chance to sniff him out and get to know him ( which I thought was great). He was nice enough to give us a few tips on how to handle her the first few days we had her since we couldn't drop her off right away. We were quickly taken back by how quickly he had our dog already learning how to walk nicely on a leash when we left we knew this would be worth every penny . The facility is a clean and cozy environment that feels like home. He has a large well kept and landscaped property which makes as a perfect place to train ! When picking our dog up after her 21 day stay Tim gave us a through demonstration and orientation on how to keep up with the work he had done with her. He worked with us for a few hours to teach us how to handle her on walks and in the crate . It was amazing for us to see how well behaved she was and how much progress they had made . She was walking on the leash and actually walking instead of dragging us around . She went into the crate with little hesitation . She was becoming the perfect companion we had been hoping for ! We are aware that once leaving Tim we would have to work at keeping consistency with the training techniques we learned in order for our dog to get every worth of what she was taught. Luckily because of the lifetime guarantee of training with Tim we are able to set up some private training times if we need help refreshing what we learned or feel the need to build more confidence in how to handle the dog on the leash . The first couple days of her being in the new environment we needed some reassurance and Tim was quick to the rescue making sure we were working with our dog to the best of our abilities. We will deff be back with our dog for boarding and follow up training practices . We decided to bring Jax our 5 month old pup to Tim since Jax was disrupting our lives and annoying our older dogs. He was urinating wherever and whenever he felt like it. I never thought I could dislike a dog so much. We weren't sure 10 days could make much of a difference but on pick up day Tim said forget the dog you dropped off and he was right, I have yet to see that dog again! Jax is controllable, calm, respectful and he listens! Does not urinate whenever wherever, does not irritate my older dogs he is respectful of their space. I was on the verge of rehoming him for my sanity and the sake of my other dogs, I am truly amazed at what Tim accomplished in such a short amount of time and the dog he returned to us. On drop off Tim spent an hour with us and we already saw the respect he commanded from Jax without a word. On pick up tim thoroughly went through everything and made sure we had a good understanding of what was needed to continue w Jax's success. Also knowing Tim is a phone call away to assist with any issues that may come up is a bonus! Tim seems to really enjoy and care about educating owners on handling their dogs and setting them up for an enjoyable journey.
