I feel that the service is less than it used to be. I have used these guys for prints and I feel like the quality is less than it was in the past. One of my prints was a 4x6 and the subject was unrecognizable. The digital file from which it was created was not blurry. I think it would be appropriate to point out or perhaps give the customer the option to refuse the print at the time of pick up. As far as getting an offer for used equipment. If you're going to low ball somebody, don't wait 3 days to do it. read more

I was searching the internet to fine a business that repairs cameras. Found Perfect Image Camera. Excellent website. I called to make sure they could look at my Fuji 59800 camera that was out of focus. I drove over one hour to get there because I could not find a repair place closer to my home. Well worth the trip. He told me to bring it in and he would take a look at the issue. Nolan provided excellant customer service. He looked at the camera and immediately saw the issue with the picture being out of focus when zooming. I told him it fell from bleachers to the ground. Nolan said the internal lens must have got broken in the fall. He mentioned that getting a new lens and repairing the camera would probably cost over $200 more than it would to be purchase a new one. Nolan even took the extra step to look up the cost of getting the exact camera from Amazon for $129. I really appreciated that. He could have just kept my camera and had it repaired for over $200 but he was honest enough to be willing to lose the repair job. That is a business I would definitely recommend to everyone. I asked if they can take slides and put them on a CDs or SD cards. He took the time to show me their website and where i could see the cost for doing that and explained that i could mail them the slides or bring them in to the store. When we get ready to do this, I will definitely go back to Perfect Image Camera I left with my camera and no cost for all the advise and information I received from Nolan. Worst customer service experience ever, along with the worst film tragedy ever (in a 15 year art school hobby). I am appalled about the way my order was handled, and Taylors self-aggrandizing when literally I was just trying to find a solution without ignoring the issue (as seemed to be the only option they gave me without flat out telling me). I agree with how "Camera W" explained it but my issue is too long to go into. Case in point: they don't really care about your experience, the owner Wes is vindictive, the assistants are young and unprofessional. Take your film elsewhere. read more

Strongly Not Recommend for repairing your product I have repaired my Sony 70-200 GM f2.8 GM, and the following is my conclusion. They don't take responsibility after repair even they clam they have 90 days warranty Their inspection for their replacement is very poor, which means they cannot target the right issue that has to repair, and they will not take responsibility for it. My experience 3 times repair from them for the same lens (refuse to repair at the third time) 2019 Oct I sent my lens Sony GM70-200 for repairing, which lens has trouble in autofocus. They said the contact points have trouble, so they replace it, which charged me $300 for repair. When the lens came back, I find the button on the lens was not working, and I sent it to repair again. This time they charge 0 because of simple fixed, but I have to pay for shipping. 2019 Dec, the same problem happens, autofocus not working, and it should be in 90 days warranty. I sent it to repair, but they were going to charge me $900 for repair because the part is different, which is the main barrel. They made a miss inspection at first time repair and fixed the wrong part, which was not a root cause. There is no discount nither of 90 days warranty and their miss inspection. So I refuse the repair, and I have to pay for the shipping for retraining. My question is why your 90 days warranty is not guaranteed for every component when the lens has trouble? Why, in the first-time repair, were they not able to find the root cause and target the right issue of the lens? Why do they change me again because of your miss inspection? They tested, and they did a bad job and pushed the cost to their customer. For other repair shops, their 90 days warranty will take care of every component even though the broken part is different than the original repair because they have the confidence in their inspection and repairment. read more

I will never do business with this establishment again. After many trips (over an hour) to support a smaller business that I thought would back their product, I have been proven wrong. They were quick to sell a product and not provide any information, but the minute there is an issue they quickly forget about customer service. I had the luxury of speaking with Taylor ( who couldn't have been happier to point out that she is the GM). She is condescending and seemed to only specialize in talking in circles. All she wanted to do is pass blame and dodge the questions. Customer service certainly isn't her strong suit; typically a manager would be more refined. I will avoid this place at all cost, I'd recommend you do the same. If you're going to try to support a smaller business give your money to someone who cares, or at least pretends. read more

I made the mistake of using compressed air to clean the sensor on my mirrorless camera and it sprayed some propellant that stuck to the sensor. I had read that this can destroy the sensor. I saw online that I could get the sensor cleaned for $59.95 at Perfect Image so I sent the camera over there, from where I'm based in California. I figured it wasn't much more than the cost of buying a sensor cleaning kit, and I didn't trust myself to clean the sensor so I sent it to the experts. The turn-around was quick. The camera came back with the lens and was spotless. I had forgotten that the service included cleaning the camera and the lens, not just the sensor, so when I opened up the box and took out the camera I didn't recognize it because this camera was just like new. I thought they'd sent me the wrong camera, but soon realized it was indeed the same camera I had sent over, except it was spotlessly clean. Excellent price and excellent service. read more

Camera left outside + overnight Rain = :( However, the internet told me that: Wet camera + silica cat litter + one week = (?) :D After the rain INCIDENT I put my Canon Rebel into some nylons and then the kitty litter and let it sit for a week. Viola! A week later I pulled it out and turned it on. It worked! BUT it was now covered with litter particles on the inside and out. Perfect Image fixed me right up. I dropped the camera off and the same day they called me, letting me know that it was cleaned and polished. Talk about fast! When I went in, I got chatting with the guy at the counter and he was super nice. He shared some of the camera horror stories he has encountered. I'm glad that I didn't drop a $3000 rental onto cement and watch it break! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. And on the bright side, now my camera has a refreshing floral aroma. read more

I bought a used DSLR Nikon here and I'm super happy with the camera. It's an awesome camera, it's in great condition and it came with a warranty. The store associates were extremely knowledgeable and helpful but not pushy. That's important to me - I hate shopping (and won't shop) anywhere that's pressuring you into buying something. Just to let you know I did not purchase any type of camera equipment from here. I went here to have a few of my wedding pictures printed. My thought on going here was professional place = professional printing. That did not happen. We had our wedding pictures done in MX and they came out wonderful. The photographer edited them, gave us a few, put them all on a hard drive, etc. There were three in particular that I wanted printed out as large as possible and that is why I went to Perfect Image. When I walked in the gentlemen that helped me set me up on a machine like you find at CVS. That should have been my first clue. I had brought my hard drive so I had several different versions of the files sizes of the pictures to choose from. Being that he set me up on the machine he told me to use the smaller file because that is what the machine could handle. In the end I selected two Metallic prints 20x30 and one Metal print 30x40...absolutely the biggest waste of $292 ever. Now you can say I should have known better, but my response is I asked questions...tons of them as I was making the order. Before I submitted it I repeatedly asked the gentlemen there if he was sure the file size that I was using for the pictures was big enough. He did keep saying it was. I did keep saying the hard drive I had did have bigger files on it...but oh no he says. Geez! I should have known. The Metallic prints were not impressive at all, especially for the upcharge. No metallic apperance to them in any way. Just super dark glossy blobs. The Metal print left a lot to be desired to the lack of file size...but I asked the gentlemen if the file he set me up with was enough. He said yes...the finish product says no. See I'm not a photo expert that is why I went there. That is why I asked the questions before I submitted the order. I depended on their expertise and advice. In the end I was let down. I should of went to CVS. At least I would of spent less and got the same or better quality. read more

My wife had a Canon 5D Mark I camera that was no longer repaired by Canon USA. We had a quote for the repair several years ago, but never got around to it. I was happy to find out they had ordered extra parts before Canon discontinued the model. Not only that, but they were cheaper than Canon had quoted us several years ago. This is THE place for all of your photographic needs either professional or casual. I've been doing photography for 30+ years and used to work at a pro camera store in Maryland and I can tell you right now these guys know what they're doing. I spoke with Wes (the owner) who pointed me in the right direction for a great , high quality camera backpack (ThinkTank) and took the time to show me around the store. They have a great selection of quality archival inkjet printing services in various finishes, textures and sizes and a nice framing dept to boot. They carry used equipment and have rentals available as well. If you're new to digital they have all you need to get started. I haven't had the opportunity to use their camera repair/maintenance services but wouldn't hesitate to do so if the need arises. I am reluctant to write a negative review but this has been on my mind for sometime now. In December I signed up for a photography class which was scheduled for February. That's how far out they were booked which was ok. When my class day /time arrived I woke up feeling sick. I called to cancel and the person I needed to speak to was not there and I was told he would return my call. I waited most of the day without a call back. I called again and got the person in charge of classes. I explained to him that I could not attend the class that night due to being ill and if it was possible to be placed in a future class. I was not asking for a refund which I know about their cancellation policy. I was told during the conversation at least twice that I would get an email and with a not so very nice tone. At the time I called I checked their calendar and March classes were full but April was still available. To this day I still have NOT received an email to reschedule! I know there needs to be a policy in place for cancellations but sometimes there also needs to be an exception to the rule. read more

I wish this was going to be a good review. Unfortunately, I had a pretty negative experience. Being a mom of three young children, I have both little time to spare and with each passing day without my camera, means missing a day of documenting my kid's lives. I brought my Nikon lens in to get fixed- a lot of my pics I was recently taking on certain settings were really bright although still able to take an image but sometimes just white- no images- on other settings. Owner, Wes, gave me a quote of how much the repair was going to be, printed out a receipt that I took, and said I would get my camera back between one and two weeks since they were going to send it out to get repaired. Ok, fine. "Should I pay now?" "No, you can pay when you pick up." Okay- that sounded reasonable. I called one week later- 8 days to be exact, to check on the status of my camera. An associate tells me that "oh, we were waiting on approval from you to send it out. We haven't sent it out yet." Needless to say, I was very disappointed and mad! Approval? I got the receipt from the owner that said he was going to send it out! They just didn't send it out. Disorganization? Ugh. So...I told them that I'd like them to send it out immediately and be compensated for losing a week with my camera since it would take another 1-2 weeks. The same guy finally called me back to say that the owner said I could borrow a "comparable" lens while my lens was being sent out. I was happy with that solution! So, I went in the next day and picked up my Nikon 5100 body which was being cleaned and waited for the comparable lens that I would borrow. The associate said, "Here ya go" and then he stopped and said, "Wait one minute." So he takes the lens and asks the owner, Wes, why it's not fitting on my camera body. He says "This is not compatible." It's a good thing the guy checked before I left the store!! So.....the owner proceeds to say to me, "I am actually working on your lens and I think I can fix your problem. We'll call you later today." Oh, okay. So....I don't have to have my lens sent out? Fine- happy to be possibly getting my lens back fixed and within a reasonable amount of time- but couldn't you have just done that in the first place? Get the call and I'm asked to come in to pick it up. Perfect- will pick it up right before my son's baseball game and will be able to take some great shots with my great lens once again. Excited and hoping this experience ends on a good note. Well...I pick up my camera, rush to the game, and pull out the lens/body to try and get some pics of my son. Click. No go. What? Try again. Nope. Not even a bad image. No picture at all. Actually, not only did it not take a picture, I now had a new sound- similar to a dolphin sound when I depressed the button to take a pic. What the h***??? I was so mad. I was fuming inside. I went the next morning (4th time to the place) and told them simply (trying to compose myself) "My camera doesn't work. At all. It doesn't even take a picture." Brian, the associate, went in the back and got the owner, Wes, and he came out and took it in the back. He eventually came back and said, "I'm sorry, it looks like the motor is burned out. I thought it just needed this little replacement here." WELL, HOW ABOUT CHECKING IF THE CAMERA "REPAIR" YOU THOUGHT YOU JUST DID ACTUALLY WORKS BEFORE SENDING IT HOME WITH THE CAMERA OWNER!! Don't you check your work after you make a repair? You would've found that in fact, your "repair" didn't work. In fact- it was worse than when I brought it in! He said, "I'm sorry, I was rushing, so I could get the camera back to you." Rushing? Why would you do shotty work just to get it back to the owner quickly? I would've rather waited another 1-2 weeks for it to be properly fixed. This whole experience has been a nightmare for me. Now I am stuck with a lens that before I took it in, worked on some settings....and now it doesn't take one stinkin' picture on ANY setting. Thanks alot Perfect Image! Ugh. read more

SOOO happy with my collage posters from Perfect Image Camera!! In the past two months I've ordered 2 posters. The first was a project my daughter needed and it was a last minute rush job. Wes, Nate and Rick were so accommodating and couldn't have been nicer to work with!! The poster turned out beautifully! I decided to go back and work with them for my daughter's senior memory board for post prom. Again, I'm thrilled! The poster turned out just as I had hoped...they set up the layout perfectly and the graphics are great! The framing looks terrific and I know my daughter is going to love it and end up taking it to college with her! I HIGHLY recommend Perfect Image... the quality and service is SUPERB!! read more

I recently took my camera in to have the sensor cleaned at Perfect Image. And they clean the lens as well if it's attached. The website reads 'Complete external camera and lens cleaning (One attached lens included)'. My lens being less than a month old, didn't need much cleaning. But I thought what the heck it could probably use a decent wipe down. When I got my camera and lens back... my brand new lens has a significant amount of dust inside the lens between the elements. And a finger print on the glass. Did they even clean my lens??? I used this lens 8 times since it was removed from the box. I clean it after every use and it gets packed away in a lens bag. I take pride in what I do and take care of my equipment. When I called in to ask someone about it. I was told "There is no way we did that. We've cleaned tons of lens and never had this issue." I know what my lens looked like when I took it in there. There was not a single piece of dust between the elements. Now it has over 50 specks of dust. When I ask the guy (Conner, I think) what can be done, he tells me they aren't allowed to take then lens apart. And then continues to try to suggest it wasn't them. Even after I had already stated to him the lens is brand new and only a few weeks old, he asks me if I bought it used. It was brand new. But that's not even the issue, new or old it had no dust in it before I left it with them. I am extremely upset and have to send my lens back to Nikon to be cleaned out properly. I think I might have to send my camera as well. Who knows if the sensor was actually cleaned properly. Now I am out the money I paid to Perfect Image as well as the money I have to pay Nikon to clean my equipment. This also will put me without my camera and lens for two weeks.
