It's a type of acupressure point and channel massage that was very effective in relaxing my muscles with a balanced and very thorough touch, covering both sides of my body. I'm a hairstylist so my back and neck take a lot of wear and tear from work, especially during these crazy holiday times. She went over everything with me before we started. We talked about my pain, stress, and not being able to fall asleep at times. She was very thorough and professional but still very nice and personable. Once we went into the room (that has a heated bed, so cozy!!!!) she effortlessly applied the needles and I laid there for about 20 mins listening to guided meditation. SERIOUSLY HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE RELAXED! I highly recommend her! Next time we might also try cupping but she didn't want to over do it my first time, which I appreciated. I had a wonderful experience!!!

I have to give a giant shout-out to Clarissa for literally saving my life on Saturday. (OK, slight…read moreexaggeration, but at the time, felt that way!) For nearly 2 weeks I have been struggling with a horrible cold that has moved its way from my sinuses to my chest and then to my tonsils. I experienced a chronic headache and fevers almost daily. Last Wednesday I went to my family doctor and he said at that point that it would just have to run it's course. By Saturday monring my tonsils were so swollen that they were almost touching and to top it off, visibily infected. Add in headache, fever and totally weary from just being worn down and I was a disaster. I called my doctor and he told me to get to the emergency room. I was miserable and expected to spend my entire Saturday sitting in a waiting room. After a quick stop on Queen Anne, I saw Clarissa leaving a restaurant on her lunch break. She insisted that I come to her office so she could try a treatment first. First she gave me some natural antibiotics to help with my throat and then we did a long accupuncture session. I felt better almost immediately. Then she wrote down a recipe for a natural gargle and another herb that would help me sleep. I got those items at Dandelion in Ballard. By Sunday, I felt so much better. My tonsils were almost back to normal with no visible signs of infection. I have gone to Clarissa for accupuncture treatments in the past, but I am a TOTAL BELIEVER now. Today I feel amazing, hardly any signs left from my cold and tonsils don't hurt at all. I love that I did not have to take prescription antibiotics (not that I am against that, I just prefer not to). If you are not feeling well, or just want other options for your general wellness, I would highly recommend that you see Clarissa. She really is an expert in her field and I have to give her credit for knowing exactly what to do to help me. Thank you Clarissa for taking care of me and helping me feel better! I was skeptical of the whole oogy-boogy-ness of acupuncture before I went, but the results don't lie. My hand doesn't hurt anymore (after 6 months of trying to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment from more traditional doctors!). I would definitely go back. Good things: - the needles are the thickness of a hair, so you hardly feel them going in. - Moses uses tuning forks, which give a wonderful vibrating sensation - the incense and neck/shoulder rub felt wonderful - relaxing - pain relief that works! - covered by my health insurance (Premera)

Moses was so friendly and explained the whole process of the treatment etc. Though I count myself a pro in getting alternative treatment it was nice to try something new in the process. While she absolutely provided relief from my physical pain, I cannot express how much her treatments helped with my anxiety and emotional blocks. I, wholeheartedly and without hesitation, recommend her to anyone who has an emotional, physical, or spiritual imbalance they want to work on. I consider myself fairly well-versed in eastern medicine as I was once a student of acupuncture and oriental medicine as well as chiropractic. I have been to multiple acupuncturists in the past but I have never experienced a practitioner as skilled as Ioana and I am so incredibly thankful I found her.

I went first to one of the Group Sound Baths (they are so affordable!) and after that I booked a private session. It is an amazing experience and I will continue to treat myself from time to time with one. Ioana is very knowledgable and compassionate; she's always really patient, dedicated and so gentle, evaluating the whole situation and making one step at a time. I'm so happy to have her close!

I have chronic pain in my neck, shoulders and lower back and my visits with Andrea have done wonders in helping my body to "reset" and calm down these areas of my body. Without fail, I fall asleep for a nice doze on her table because she hits all the points that help to release stress from these areas. Through a combination of my acupuncture care (Andrea) with my chiropractic care (Dr. Lynna at Meridian Medicine), my pain has become much more manageable and I'm able to do physical activities again that I enjoy such as taiko drumming which I was otherwise having to avoid. As a bonus, Andrea has an incredible knowledge of Chinese herbs and has prepared some powdered herbs that I drink as a tea and help to supplement the acupuncture treatments. Not to mention that she is a wonderfully kind, compassionate person! Her office is a sunlight oasis that I look forward to every 2 weeks.
