As others have said, yes, the beaches are bright white and the water truly is crystal blue! We've enjoyed countless fresh oysters here, especially delicious are the Murder Point Oysters when they are available, and tons of Royal Red shrimp, which are also, truly delicious! The Orange Beach area is where we charted a deep sea fishing boat for a six-hour deep sea fishing trip during Red Snapper season to celebrate a milestone birthday and it was the most memorable experience!! [Thanks so much Captain Troy Frady and Distraction Charters!!!!] We typically visit FloraBama and get scratch off lottery tickets, get a drink or two and again, some raw oysters. The Gulf is another fun place to hang out, eat, and drink - their Grouper sandwich is delicious and their bloody marys are good too! Typically, we visit Sea and Suds and enjoy the balcony area that sits above the Gulf, and we always enjoy a visit to Cobalt, which has delicious food, beautiful water views, and live entertainment. Orange Beach offers a good variety of public golf courses, too and I've played on several of them. Orange Beach is such a lovely asset to Alabama! It's just a little over five and a half hours drive from my house, and it's worth it for the lovely beaches, the friendly people, the delicious eats and the recreation!

That leaves you with three choices. The park has lovely restrooms, beautiful lagoon views and, if course, is on the waters edge, sweet! It's also referred to as Little Lagoon Park by many but it,'s officially Mo's Landing. There's two easily accessible boat launches 100'+ piers and plenty parking reserved for vehicles with trailers. Plenty additional parking is available at the head of the park just a couple hundred yards from the water. Kayaks also are a favorite here as Little Lagoon is a popular place for seadoo's, paddle board, etc. Lagoon Park was built on a pair of privately owned sites purchased by the City of Gulf Shores, where a convenience store and private boat launch known as Mo's Landing and RV Park used to be. The park is 1.8 miles west of Highway 59 on Fort Morgan Road (Highway 180).  The restroom deck overlooking the Lagoon provides a good resting point for cyclists, walkers, and joggers on the 5.3 mile paved bike path and walking trail that winds between the trees on the north side of Fort Morgan Road. Two concrete boat ramps, parking for both vehicles and boat trailers, and restrooms are available for public use. In addition to the public boat ramps that provide access for fishing, sports, and recreational boating, the park also provides a fine access point for kayaks and canoes to the north shores of Little Lagoon, which are characterized by single family homes in pine tree sheltered properties with piers and boathouses extending into the shallow waters. Bottom line: This is a very relaxing and scenic spot off the beaten path. No beaches but plenty of edge of water chillaxing. Note: it's pretty busy right now during the Covid-19 situation 4/25/20

However, Hurricane Sally direct hit Gulf Shores before the grand reopening, damaging a 200-foot section of the pier. * November 2023: The pier closed for a $13.6 million renovation project led by MD Thomas Construction to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Sally. * The Pier reopened to sightseers and anglers on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024 at 7am, as the renovation work that began in November 2023 was finally completed. Some of the special events include: * Reptile Romp: A fun and educational event that introduces visitors to various reptiles found in the area. * Radical Raptors: An event focused on learning about birds of prey and their importance in the local ecosystem. * Turtle Fest: A festival dedicated to sea turtles, where guests can learn about these fascinating creatures and the organizations working to protect them. * Park Pollinators: A program that highlights the role of pollinators in the park's ecosystem and how visitors can help support them.
