We found this little gem of a place on our first night in the area and came back every night we were there. The food is great, especially the desserts. The service is good and friendly. And the ambiance is small and cozy. Good local live music as well. read more

Absolutely fabulous! All of our dishes were great! My 2 girls, I, and my parents went on a "grandparents vacation" to Ireland so that we could spend some time together. I had the daily special which was the Guinness casserole. It didn't overly taste of beer but was very flavorful and cooked so it was soft but not mushy. My youngest and my mother had the salmon and I was allowed a (very small) bite and it was also delicious! My oldest loved her leg of lamb as well. My father had the roast beef and he said it was good but wished he got one of the other dishes since they were not as readily available at home (meaning the states). We called ahead and made a reservation for one of the nights that they had a band come in and I was surprised to see 8 musicians coming in and a young girl of about 11 dancing every few songs. The waitress said that it's not a common thing for the girl to come and dance so we lucked out! ---MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION SAYING YOU WANT TO SEE THE BAND AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO HEAR THEM.-- Sorry for the caps but you need to be specific and make sure you make the reservation as soon as you can so that you get a good seat. read more

Of ALL the places we dined at while we were in Ireland, I liked this place the best. After a 20 hour journey, we arrived in The middle of no where Clare County just in time for a driver to shuttle us to Peppers. First hours in Ireland and I had the best cabbage and bacon I would have the entire trip. They also offer live music and entertainment. Next time I find myself in Ireland, I will try to go back, and I will recommend it to anyone I know who is passing through! read more

Although our first visit was pleasant and the food was good, our next visit was not so pleasant. We went on a night when there was supposed to be a "session" or music. They were busy, no doubt. But we were first seated at a small table then told we would have to move because that table was reserved. We were moved into a secluded room behind the bar with no lights on and sat there for 20 minutes with no one even coming in to the room. Another family was seated in the room a few minutes later and after about 10 more minutes the waitress came and took their order. The wife of the owner came in and told the waitress as she was taking the other family's order not to take any more orders. We left. Not only was this unbelievably rude, the wife was absolutely surly. I would not go back there if this was the only pub left in Ireland. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience at Peppers. We had our post Christmas holiday in Ireland and stayed at a great place in Co Clare. The information packet recommended Peppers as a great local Irish pub. So glad we tried it out. The environment was wonderful, the staff exceedingly friendly, the patrons inviting, the food delicious, the drinks excellent and the music beyond compare. Our kids got the pizza and it was very good, especially considering we weren't at a pizzeria. The roast was delicious; moist and full of flavor with an amazing gravy. My wife got the strawberry rhubarb crumble for dessert two separate times and it was one of the best desserts we've had in quite some time. We were fortunate enough to go on a day when they had a traditional Irish music session with roughly 10-12 musicians. As someone who has always loved Irish jigs, it is no stretch to say it was a dream come true. I can't recommend this place strongly enough. Go and you are sure to find at least a few things you'll love. I know we'll be coming back if we're fortunate enough to find ourselves in beautiful Co Clare again. read more

This place has been by far our favorite pub in our most recent trip to Ireland. Great food, service and such a homey feel, I've never enjoyed a place more. The live music really is a treat and the of the owners drove us back to our lodge in Tulla! 10/10 would recommend this place, it is quite terrific! read more
