I needed work on my BMW done QUICK before moving to Detroit and the manager (who I've come to realize is new to this location) set me up right. I explained that I am a humble musician and do not have a ton of money to dump into the car. I just needed it to be roadworthy enough to get to Detroit. Well I know there is other work that needs to be done on it, that is exactly what he did for me. There was a female at the register that was also extremely kind and helpful. I could tell by the snickering and looks that the men that were working on cars in the actual garage, felt some type of way about me, and we're cracking jokes... but no matter. The new manager is amazing and bringing this place back to life. Because of his professionalism in actually showing me what was wrong, I recommend two other people to him since getting my car worked on an early June. They were pleased as well. They got my parts quick. They got them installed quick. I was on the road to Detroit before I even knew it. I highly recommend this location so long as that manager is operating it. Highly recommend no one does business with this joke of a company. Called to get quote and was quoted $110 per tire for service and set y up appointment. When I showed up was told not in system but I received a text confirming appointment. Then I was told it would be $180 per tire, who was $280 more than quote. My girlfriend and I had a car towed to this specific pep boys due to a broken serpentine belt/retention pulley because it was "express service" HA. We've now waited 3 days, when I called ( a man) it was "oh yeah man we will get it done asap don't worry" and when she called it was " well we're gonna try to have it done". You could tell that when a man spoke they respected it. When a woman spoke she was ignored. Extremely unprofessional. I will not return, I will not recommend. And I'd love to tell you if it was fixed correctly but I'm still waiting! Absolutely horrible. read more

So disappointed. Made an appointment and received a confirmation email just to be called 15 minutes before my appointment while I'm on my way to be told they are canceling my appointment. I understand that selling tires during your Black Friday sale generates more revenue than my tire rotation, but it's just an extremely bad business practice. The cherry on top was the email I received where they were "sorry i couldn't make it my recent service appointment." But I could! And I was going to! Before you cancelled on me. I'm currently sitting in pep boys for the third time in 24 months getting my battery replaced. I never come to pep boys but at the time I only needed a battery and they were right down the street from my new apartment. My regular mechanic was 20 minutes away. I purchased the "best" battery. During the first visit they gave me this detailed report saying I needed to replace all my brakes and two rotors. I took it to my regular mechanic and it was lye !!!! They lasted another 9000 miles. My first battery lasted six month and they charged me labor to install it. I was pretty annoyed. Today I basically told them I'm not paying a penny in labor. Missing a day of work and having to use my PTO because they have inferior products. read more

Last time I was there, some Jersey boi tried to get me for over $600 for just my front break pads and, maybe, rotors. He straight up lied to me, saying that nobody cuts rotors anymore cause they charge $150/hr for time on the lathe. Total bullshit, folks. Deceptive practices at store location. Terrible customer service. Jim Ferrari will not return phone calls or make things right. In December I had both front and back brakes and rotors put on plus an oil change. 2 days later the oil light came back on. I brought the car back in and told they forgot to reset. Time lost on my part. Late February the back brakes started squeaking. Took the car back in early march. They reschecked and said they they where fine didn't hear squeaking but maybe it was a pebble. More time wasted. In April the sound turned into a chugging sound when braking. Took the car to the Honda dealership where I was informed they did not replace the back brakes correctly and it was metal on metal. Still refusing a refund. Never take your here. read more

I was at the store in Allison Park store on Saturday for an oil change and a tire rotation and this guy David who claims to be the manager came out and was completely unprofessional he walked past me 2 times never saying a word to me then when he finally did notice that was standing there he did not say hi he asked me what I wanted. I told him I was there for service and I asked him how long the wait might be he told me I just had to leave it and it would get done when it gets done. He then told me to give him my keys without even looking me up in the system when I asked about paperwork an price he said how don't you know how much your service cost. Then he went in to the computer and zoned out for like a good 5 mins then asked me again what I was there for. At that point I asked him for Ree the lady who is the assistant manager and he said she is not her I told him never mind I will not be getting any service today I am not sure but it seemed to me that he was high on something and under any circumstances would I ever leave my car with him I don't understand who would ever be willing to allow him to drive their vehicle when he kept zoning out when standing at the counter read more

I took my vehicle in to Pep Boys for an inspection today, and they told me that the right sided bumper needed fixed before they would put a sticker on it. No problem. The damage occurred from a towing incident. I was procrastinating getting it fixed as it wasn't a big issue at the moment. 99% of the time it was tapped in and stayed there. Today was the 1% that it came out. Well this is how they deem it to be fixed. An effin screw threw the body of the bumper where it meets the fender. Now when you take your vehicle to a well known national chain, and come out with this, you have to say to yourself wtf right? They didn't even ask me if I would accept it as a "repair" before they did this. I assumed they would replace clips, or at a minimum some double sided body tape. Who in their right mind thinks this is acceptable? And it didn't even hold! My vehicle is my business, and besides this minor blemish (before Pep Boys), the body was in near perfect condition. My vehicle is how I make my living. I didn't notice right away, and called immediately when I did, around 7 pm, and the retail store was still open. I spoke with the retail manager and he said, and I quote, "Oh my God!" He did say I need to speak to the service manager. I'm doing that first thing in the morning. I came here on a Sunday because I was afraid one of my tires was going flat and for lack of other businesses being open due to the fact that it was Sunday, I drove an extra few miles to even get here. I arrived at 4 pm, they closed at 5. Right off the bat the guy was very rude and dismissive and said they close at 5- i was the only customer in there- anyway I pretty much had to beg him to at least check the tire pressure in my tire and explained that I had 2 small kids in the car and he mumbled something and at that point I left and went to get go and checked it myself. Made an online appointment at 4 just to get there at 350 for them to tell me it will be over an hour for my car even to get pulled into the garage. I was waiting for my car, so I obviously ask why she said "online requests aren't real appointments" .. so I show her the text I got confirming the appointment and she said it doesn't matter and she has other people who were "there first" I'm really not one to complain but come on, I would have wait 20-30 minutes honestly, I've worked in customer service it's a pain. I had a tire held for me, and called to let them know I didn't need it held anymore, and he said he'd already "given up" on me and stopped holding it for me already because I didn't come in by 2 PM. I never said I would be in by a certain time. I work until 4:30, and they're open 'til 7. Also, the night before, when I asked what time I could come in at the latest to have it put on, he kept cutting me off to say "we leave at 7!" OK, but can I come at 6:30 and have it put on? I know the purpose of these big companies is to get as much money as they can from you, but I am utterly disgusted. PEOPLE I'm telling you, if you drop your car off here and they tell you something needs fixed and they're gonna order your parts be sure to ask them how much the parts are going to be including labor. I almost got taken for $1200. It is partly my fault because I did not ask ahead of time the cost. I took my car in to get it inspected. They passed my emissions and told me I needed a new tail lights covers in order to pass me for my state inspection. I told him that was fine and to order the parts but I need my car by Wednesday. This was Friday. They kept giving me the go around telling me "the parts are coming", "the parts are coming". By Wednesday morning I had enough so I decided to go down to Pep Boys myself and tell them I will just take my car and get the parts and fix it on my own, then bring it back for an inspection. When I got there the gentleman that helped me tried to guilt me into paying for the parts before they were even purchased from dealership. He told me that if I don't show up to get my car fixed, he's going to be "out all that money". I felt bad and said "I plan on coming back I just need my car for this week so yes. I'll pay". I now know that these places will not put on equipment that they do not purchase from your dealer but I was appalled when the price that showed on the checkout screen was $1209.03. When I asked for the cost breakdown he told me "$400 a piece for the covers + labor + the state and emissions test. Ya'll even if I was okay with the $800 for TAIL LIGHT COVERS it does not cost another $400 for the labor and inspection. I denied their service and took my car to an auto body shop that replaced both covers in an hour for $40!!! read more

The price on the tires were good, but they told me they would look at my front end alignment which they did not do and they also said it include road hazard which it did not do. They took an hour and a half to install 2 hours on a front of a car plus they tried to charge me $75 for a nut lug, which it costs $3 at any other store. Not only did they get me fixed up with my tires, but they didn't make me schedule an appointment in the future for my state inspection. I had an appointment. I was 10 minutes late because I went to the wrong location. The manager from Castle Shannon called the store on Route 51 and told them I was on my way. When I made the appointment online, I wrote that I had a tire that was leaking air. I got to the store. Nobody acknowledged me for 25 minutes! Employees walked by but didn't even smile or say "hi." The guy at the counter kept answered the phone, hung up, and walked back into the service area without regard to the folks standing there! Another lady and I stood there, invisible. A young guy who was getting supped up tires on his truck went back into the service area several times to get their attention. They talked to him but continued to ignore me and the other lady. So when someone finally did acknowledge me, I told them about how I made the appointment but had gone to the wrong store. I told him that I had been waiting 25 minutes though and nobody even made eye contact during that time. They told me that they didn't have anyone working on tires tonight. Oddly enough, the young kid's truck was getting tires. I was told that I could not be seen even though I had an appointment! He offered to reschedule but the soonest they could take me was two days from now. I asked what the point of the appointment is if it is not honored and I said that someone should have called me if the appointment couldn't be kept. I purchased tires at another Pep Boys not too long ago and got a flat tire the other day. The location where I purchased them couldn't fit me in for a few days so I did some research and found that this location had the tired I needed. I called and Justin confirmed they had the tire and told me to come right up. He was very attentive and helpful. They double checked to make sure the tire couldn't be repaired before telling me I needed a new one. They only made me replace one despite having AWD because of the good condition of the other 3 tires (could have easily pushed for me to purchase all 4 but didn't). I didn't have to wait too long despite not having an appointment. I would definitely go here again. read more

I visited the Century III Pepboys in Pgh Pa. a few days ago to buy a small tool (around 5.99 is what I normally pay for these), a can of fix-a-flat, and a couple of bolts. First thing I noticed is the store is FILTHY - dirt on the doors as well as the door handles, bits of garbage on the floors, etc etc. (This was observed over a period of 3 days where I visited the store on 3 consecutive days by the way.) I was in a hurry, so I didn't really notice the prices on these items until they rang up to 22.00 !!! I am a mechanic of 37 years and I know what these should cost. The Small Pliers should cost 5.99 for the generic ones I purchased, but at pepboys they were 11.99 !! (I get the real Vise Grip brand for less than that) The fix-a-flat should cost around 4.99, but they were at 6.99. The bolts may have been reasonably priced, but at this point, I don't care. I cant say I was a regular Pep Boys customer, but when I found out what they had done to the prices and the condition of their store, I realized they will be closing soon (why else would they let the store go like that ??) read more

I just came back from Pepboys on Rt. 88 in South Park, PA. I called about getting my front rotors and brake pads replaced. They said we have a price match guarantee. I said great, so I took my car down there at 12:00 noon and dropped it off. An hour and a half later, they called and said they could not find my lug nut lock to take off my tires. I said it was in the glove compartment or trunk. They said they looked and it wasn't there. They wanted to charge me $18 per tire for them to take off my lug nuts with their equipment. I said forget it. I went back and picked up my car only to find the lug nut lock in my glove compartment. I was furious. These are qualified auto service people. I called corporate and filed a complaint. He gave me a case number. He said they would call me in 48 hrs??? read more

I took my car in for an oil change, new wiper blades, both state and emission inspections and most importantly for a leak I had in a tire that I wanted looked at, repaired if possible otherwise I stated that I would take 2 new tires for my car. I had also requested for them to rotate the tires. Not only did they lie and say that my rim was bent which is was not and that they fixed the leak, which is a total lie but when doing my oil change they left my car a quart of oil short. I just got home from taking my car elsewhere and they found a huge chunk of rubber missing out of the sidewall, something that should have been noticed when they took the tire off to find the leak, the same tire was leaking so that tells me that the tires were never rotated and I'm shocked that the car was able to pass inspection with a tire about to blow like mine was. That's the whole point of inspections in Pennsylvania, to help keep unsafe cars off the road. I will never have work done or spend a penny with them again and I would warn others the same. read more
