*SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE* Dropped my truck off on Tuesday morning to just have the AC inspected and was told it would be done by the end of day; got a call at 4pm stating they actually won't get to it today so I had to leave it a second day. They said I had a leaking switch and replaced it and also recharged my AC. It was blowing ice cold for ONLY 5 MINUTES as I left but then it immediately started blowing hot air again! Now I'm having to leave my truck up here again for the THIRD DAY IN A ROW and I can't even get a time estimate on when it'll be done. I'm already THREE DAYS AND ALMOST FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS spent into this ordeal and absolutely nothing has been fixed. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. After taking my truck up there again for the third day straight, they now tell me that between the time I left yesterday and got down to Olive road and Davis Highway that the AC compressor must have failed and that they couldn't tell that was about to happen before hand and that they would take no accountability or responsibility for further repairs and quoted me almost another TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS between parts and repairs on top of the $340 i already spent. I am beyond livid! I will never do business again with this shop, horrible communication and customer service! read more

RUDE AND OVERPRICED! I am out of town for a funeral and my check engine light turned on so I had Advanced auto do a diagnostic check and was told one engine coil and one spark plug needed to be replaced. I needed to make it back to Jacksonville that night so I went to Pep boys to see how much it would be to get it fixed. I kindly explained the situation and asked if they could fix it today and how much it would be. The man at the counter barely let me finish asking for a quote before practically shouting "a lot" while just staring at me. I was caught off guard by that response since I clearly asked him for a price quote so I reiterated my question and asked how much. He rolled his eyes and took a few minutes before quoting me $800. Avoid! Stay away! I came to have one low beam headlight bulb changed. Two and a half hours of WORKING on the car and bulb had not been changed properly and the opposite side bulb is now not working. "We might have broken a connector." They closed 35 minutes ago and are still trying to fix the conductor that they broke. A 5-minute light bulb change has turned into a two and a half hour ordeal pushing 3 hours! Never come here! Ever! read more

I had the worst experience ever with Pep Boys on Davis Hwy in Pensacola Fl. They kept my car for 3 days and stated I needed a compressor and changed the water pump and charged me 2400.00 the same day I got my car I can hear this clicking sound under my hood, but couldn't drop it off till Saturday. Left it there Saturday and they lied and said it was in the garage when it was actually in the parking lot. Then told me they couldn't get to it till Monday. Dropped it off Monday and haven't received a call from anybody. I called up there before they closed and they stated the part won't be in till Tuesday smh... They have been an inconvenience and unprofessional even after I already paid them. They stated the compressor was bad and had to order another under my warranty. This has been a bad experience and instead of them working on my car immediately they stated they had to get other cars out first after I already paid!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !! I went to get 4 new tires and rims, sat in the office for about an hour while they worked on my car all just to have my car returned with the same wheels. I was told a piece needed to be ordered but would be here in a couple days. I have waited TWO WEEKS and still have yet to receive any information! I found out Friday night that I had a nail in my tire. I called Pep Boys to see when they closed and they said 8pm. I told them that I needed a tire repaired and I would be heading over there. When I got there, the guy at the counter told me they were booked up and he only had one guy working with 3 cars ahead of me. I told him I had called in advanced so he called another pep boys to see if they could help, but they were booked as well. He just stated that he was sorry. I said, "So basically, you're telling me I'm screwed?" He didn't know how to reply, but a manager overheard and he stated that he would do the work himself. I went to Pep Boys on Davis Hwy for new brake pads, rotors, and one tire hub. They charged Me $2,500, and gave My vehicle back to Me w/ a bad hub. I had to return it for another Hub. A month later I notice that the Mechanic had only machined My rotors, not replaced them w/ new ones. Horrible place! read more

I took my car in today for oil change & tire rotation. It was my first time at this location. Sarah, the one who checked me in, told me that I would receive a call when the job was done, but the call never came. Once we had finished running errands, we returned to the shop and my car was sitting there in the parking lot. Good timing I suppose, but still would have been nice to get a phone call. I easily found a $10 off voucher when setting up my appt online. $40-ish (tax included) not bad for a high mileage oil change. Prompt service as well. Good work read more

NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I went to this pep boys for their $20 oil change and tire rotation package. When they were returning the keys, I was lied to that my tires were rotated. I mark my tires so that I know if they are actually rotated, so I confronted them. They then lied again saying that they do not need to be rotated. At this point, I have already been there over 90 minutes for a scheduled appt oil change/tire rotation. They told me to come back the next day for the tire rotation and they'd throw in a $10 wheel balancing because I had a complaint that my car was shaking due to my tires. I came back the next day with my scheduled appt and this time it took 2.5 hours for me to get my car back. I was told all the work was done, but my car still shook. The balance was never done because I watched the workers from the window. I confronted them about that, and he said that I just needed a whole new set of tires even though my car only had 20,000 miles. 1 week later, I took my car to Firestone, and within 10 minutes they evaluated my tires, saw that I had 1 blatantly bad tire with a tumor. 20 minutes later, they had a new tire on it and my car did not shake. Firestone took 30 minutes to fix the issue and was honest. Pep boys took 4 hours and accomplished nothing except lied to me and tried to tell me I needed a new set of tires on my 20,000 mile new car. read more

So, I call This store at 9:49 this morning about my tire and needing to have it checked to see why it's not holding air. The service technician, David I think, tells me if I get there before 10 they can check it out, they have appointments at 10. I say ok. I fly to the store, on a bad tire, and was standing in the store in about 5 minutes. (Knowing why I was there, from what I saw,) He took his time with the person in front of me, only to tell me at 10:02, we can't help you for another hour. I had to take a breath, because he'd just told me to be there before 10 and they could check me out. I'm FURIOUS right now! Can't go to church/work or anything! They tried to charge me $1000 to replace the back brake pads, the front rotors and brakes. They tried to charge me $300 per rotor (600 total) I told them I would like to call another store and get the price of rotors because that seems high and they instantly dropped the price down to $105 per rotor ($390 in savings by asking a question... seems a little crooked huh).I asked the guy why there was such a huge price difference and he said there was some labor built in to the price of the rotor. That's a lie. Labor is labor and parts are parts. Anyway after all of that they were still overcharging me to do a simple brake job. I didn't even try to break the rest of the bill down... If I could give zero stars, I would. This has happened over a year ago but still sticks with me because I have never been so pissed off with a business before. I come in first thing to get my car fixed and was told I was second priority and it's be done by let's say 10 am. Well 10 am comes around and they're now where near done. I check every 30 mins and still no progress. I had online classes starting at 1 pm and had to take my apartment keys and walk home to make it in time because they weren't finished yet. Then when they were done by 1:30 pm. They left my car outside with the windows rolled down and the key in the ignition waiting for me to get it after I paid. Someone could have stolen the vehicle. Pep Boys on Davis Highway is the worst place to get your car needs fixed. They're so unreliable and I almost missed my first day of class because of the lies they spilt me about time. Remember, I came in right when they opened and was second priority. Nope. They treated me like I was just another customer with money that had time. Fuck this place. read more

I would NOT recommend this store to anyone...i took my car to them to get a diagnosis on it cuz i just bought it and its under the 30 day warranty..ok well the one guy mr Rodney after diagnosing the front end alignment had said it needed a front alignment and that the warranty company wouldnt pay for it...and that i had to pay money for another diagnose on something else which i shouldnt have to...anyway days went by and i had another issue so after talking to the car dealer a few times i again took it back to this pep boys and was told that if the warranty company didnt pay for the repair i would have to pay for the diagnosis which again is not my problem...so to make this short i called the dealer again and asked to be put in another car well come to find out that mr Rodney had never contacted the warrenty company about anything... So he lied to me about them saying they wouldnt pay for the reapair.. My car now is sitting at a different pep boys and nothing was said about me having to pay anything ...maybe my car will finally get fixed this time... This location was too, but this sweet lady at the front called all the pepboys locations and found me the one on Fairfield with no wait who could work on my car. I'm told my ac recharge and evac will take a hour.....I waited for 3 before they even started. I ask if my car is almost ready and I'm told it'll be around 30 minutes. Then the price that they tried to charge me was over twice the amount they told me. Pep boys usually matches prices so I asked to see a manager to see if they were willing. The manager pretty much ignored me and my attempts to communicate told they're techs to undo everything they did and "send me on my way". Shout out to Jon. He's the best. Battery had died because the lights were left on. We jumped it and then stopped by to either buy a battery or get it checked. As it was the battery was strong and we didn't need one. But then we discovered that we needed our tail light fixed and that got fixed in nothing flat. I had an appointment for 8:30AM today for an oil change and tire rotation. Got there at 8:25 to find out that the person I talked to on the phone didn't actually make the appointment. The guy says no problem, we can still get you in now. 20 mins later he finally has everything in the computer. I found out that the oil change was going to be $30 more than advertized (because it's a mail-in rebate but the website says nothing about that). So I said don't do the oil change, just rotate the tires. 9:30 rolls around and my car still isn't in the shop. They have cars back there that came in after I did, but not my car. I broke down on a Sunday. I have a very unique car. A VW V-10 TDI, Diesel. They were the only ones that offered to try to fix it on a Sunday. They tried but could not, but that is not why I am writing this. They treated me as family and did all they could to their abilities. I have to commend them for their effort and their friendliness and willingness to listen to me while I was reading possible fixes for the car in the Touareg Forum. And at the end Rusty, one of the managers, who took care of me and kept me informed on their progress, didn't charge me a penny. I tried paying but he insisted that since they didn't fix it they were not going to charge me anything. Now that is what I call integrity in a field that lacks that quality. read more

This Pep Boys location has the potential to be the best maintenance establishment in town but they have a habit of either doing things without researching or informing the customer of what maintenance they are performing on the vehicle outside of what the customer initially asked them to do. For example, my vehicle requires 5W-30 oil and i asked for CastroI GTX High Milage. On two different occasions, they put 5W-20 Mobil 1 without telling me. They blew my suspension and tried to lie and tell me it was sagging when i came in and i had a problem with my tires when all they had to do was research the vehicle and realize that the suspension must be turned off before putting it on a lift. In addition to that, they rotated my tires (after i just had them rotated elsewhere two days earlier) without telling me. When i saw what they were doing with my tires and asked them about it, their response was that it is their policy to put the most worn tires on the front. I can understand this concept if the tires were purchased at Pep Boys but they weren't. Bottom line Pep Boys, we pay you to research the vehicle before performing maintenance on it, keep the customer informed and give us exactly what we asked for. read more

I stopped by pep boys to check on/get new tires for my vehicle and my brothers vehicle. I figured to talk to them, pick out 2 new sets and set up an apt with them. I walked inside, said Hi and I wanted to get some tires for mine and my brothers vehicle to a man behind one of the counters, He said he was busy and someone would be with me in a moment. I said thanks and stood there and watched him ask and help someone else that came in after me (pulled up to the store after me). No one came so I looked around for a few minutes then waited at the counter behind a couple I thought the cashier was helping. I waited 15 mins while they talk and joked around. Two times my brother has gone to shop there he has left items at the counter because no one showed up to the counter for the 10 minutes he was standing there. The person helping another person at the other counter should have made an effort to at least call someone up there. I went in with my brother this last time and the place is horrible. The ladies restroom was nasty.. The floors everywhere in the building looked nasty. The person that helped me the most was someone that had been working on cars. Like before the person walked away from the register area and didn't come back until they were hunted down. I stood for a moment where the other guy was helping some man. I was never acknowledged. There is a 10 foot rule where you at least tell a person you will be with them in just a minute. At least make eye contact. If I would have been a secret shopper.... this store would have FAILED. You never know who is going to walk into your store. Make it presentable. I refuse to step foot in the store until you do. The service manager tried to intimidate me the minute I walked in the door. Have a 2010 Galant that wouldn't start, tried to but couldn't turn over all the way. I had it towed to Pep boys just before they closed. The service manager told me that it could be the timing belt and if that broke I didn't want to know how much that would cost especially if the valves got bent. Would need a head job as he is asking me to sign a diagnosis sheet for $106. When I got home I was upset so at 08:01am the next day (1 minute after they open per the online hours), I called the same manager and told him to do nothing to my car. He told me he had the motor pulled apart but if I wanted him to put it back together, he would charge me 1/2 the fee. Of course I had him finish. At 3pm that day, I was told that I needed a new engine I had my car towed to a different location and it turned out to be the battery and the cables. $250.00. In the meantime, I'm driving a rental at $30 a day. When I went back to them and told them that they cheated me, the other service manager didn't know what to do or say. Dumbfounded It's known around Pensacola that these guys are hard up for money, can't keep employees (they are hiring now) and will do anything to make that almighty $$ commission. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO PEP BOYS. THEY WILL LOOK YOU STRAIGHT IN THE EYE AND RIP YOU OFF BUT WITHOUT THE VALSALINE! read more

i went in to pep boys on sat. morning.i told them what was wrong with my truck and this is what i wanted fixed,nothing more.my truck my money.the bolt had come out of the passengers side caliper.they said fine,i know this should be no more than a 40 min. fix,having been a mechanic for 20 yrs.my truck was in on the rack for 2 hrs.i asked if it was about done they said just a few more min.another hr passes,i told them if it isnt done get it off the rack.i will take it some where else.15 min. later the truck was off the rack. i was charged 150.00 for a 8 dollar bolt.guess the other 142 was for labor...what a freaking rip off and scam. i will never be back and im filing a complaint with bbb. read more
