Best trained surgeons in Illinois. Excellent Care. Compassionate. They listen. I wouldn't go any where else. You get to pick your hospital.

I was a patient who had a stint placed by Heartcare Midwest. The fact I made it out alive is a…read moremiracle and it was not due tot he skills of the doctors and nurses of Heartcare Midwest and OSF in Peoria. To start, I had to wait 9 hours in an emergency room in Peru Illinois before they could arrange a transfer. In 9-hours, I saw the doctor twice. I had people bring my work to me and worked a full day from the emergency room and nobody seemed to care or were concerned. Once finally in Peoria, I had a nurse give me a shot in the stomach with a blood thinner. It was not 10 minutes later, another nurse came in and tried to administer the same shot. I asked her why I was getting two and she seemed surprised I had already had one and then left. It was not 15 minutes later and a third nurse came in to give me the same shot! Does anyone bother to check my chart? I again explained they had given it to me and she also left. The first time they could have killed me because they had no clue! I had four doctors come in and meet with me after the tests. Other than elevated enzymes, they were not sure what was going on. They told my wife and I they would do more tests in the morning, but I would stay the night. Nothing would happen before 8, so she went home. At 6:30 the next morning, they came in and said they were doing a stint and off I went. I did not get to call my wife. After the stint procedure, they informed me I would be able to go home. I asked when I can return to work and the doctor told me the next day. The next day, I worked the entire day and my employer asked me to have a release sent over for my files. When I called them at 4:00 PM, I was told I was not to be at work and I was to be off the rest of the week. I asked point blank and was told wrong information. This was the second time they almost killed me by not knowing what they were doing! They gave me several prescriptions. I questioned the dosage of one of them with the doctor and was told it was correct. I took the prescription to my local pharmacist who immediately questioned the dosage as well. She said there was no way it could be right and called Heartcare Midwest. She was told it was right, so she asked to speak to another doctor. The second also said it was right. She again said she would not fill it without speaking to another doctor. The third doctor finally said she was right and had them change the dosage. The third time could have killed me if not for an alert Pharmacist! To top it off, OSF in Peoria was disgusting. They had me using a urinal. After my first trip to rest room, I informed the nurse that I had gone and the urinal was in the rest room. She did nothing. There were three others in there. By the end of the night, I had filled all three and nobody ever came to empty them or measure them. they obviously did not care. They forgot to bring my lunch order the second day after calling me at 11:00 AM to take it.

The Med Spa rooms are so clean and peaceful and every time I go in to see Melissa she goes over the process and after care regardless of it being my first treatment or 5th she always keeps me on top of my information and comfortable. I have been a patient of DR. Chris Lansford for over 3 years and originally came to him to treat the ongoing sinus issues I was struggling with and been hopeless for months with false information and lots of prescription drugs from other doctors who had been working with me prior. I went in and had an initial visit with Dr. Chris and we immediately came up with a different plan and knew my options were limited but we tried 2 different minimally invasive treatments before deciding on surgery about 5 months later, its been over two years and have never felt better no longer struggling with reoccurring sinus infections or sinus pressure headaches like I had been for years, I still visit Doctor Lansford every so often to keep my face looking its best. About a month ago I Had my first Botox injection and he walked me through the entire thing really evaluating my face carefully before deciding on his recommended amount and where he would place the injections on my forehead, needless to say I have never been happier with the appearance of my skin thanks to these two at The Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery Center & Med Spa. Everything from the moment you walk in and check in with the amazing group of kind, lovely ladies up front is a professional, welcoming, friendly and most importantly clean experience.

So I am writing this review because I am super frustrated as a whole with how I have been treated…read morethroughout this entire process of trying to find a doctor in Peoria. Yesterday my husband and I had booked a fertility consultation with Dr. Overcash. We arrived, and it was kinda hard to find the building but after driving around, I did see it as I had scoured the website and they have a great photo of the location. When I was booking the appt. I explained to the girl on the phone that I am looking for a doctor in the area as we are preparing to have a baby, and my current OB in Chicago recommended I find someone closer. She took all of my information (including the wrong phone number) but never mentioned that it was a patient only experience. When we arrived in the lobby, 2 staff members were behind the counter WITHOUT masks, and a third masked woman who I can only assume was the pitboss or APRN. No one introduced themselves to me, other than to say my husband couldn't be there. I promptly explained we're here for a consultation, and the masked woman said "well, we'll have to clear it with the doctor because we can't be picking and choosing who get preferential treatment." I asked her to do that. I was sent into the hallway by the elevator with my husband to wait and hear back on what the dr. said. It turns out that he wouldn't meet Tyler, and I promptly cancelled my appt. I realize every practice is different, however I'm going to leave this here; if I can go to Walmart, if I can go to work, if I can walk into A DOCTORS OFFICE and see people behind the counter that work there not wearing masks, then my husband can be involved in my prenatal care appointments. There is a serious lack of patient advocacy in America from both patient and family. Some of the questions my husband had were "how many c sections do you perform? What do you consider "dangerous" and how often do you use Pitocin? What is the likelyhood of her having a low intervention birth (due to my issues)?" there were more but you can tell from these that my 25 year old husband cares** and did research into what happens to women and more specifically what might happen to me. Don't you think that merits some concern and I'd also like to state that while sure, he could have teleconferenced in for that, was he expected to miss our ultrasound appointments? Because excuse me but teleconferencing isn't acceptable. And for those of you saying "well what about this that and the other", I don't care. None of that is the case, and this experience has been unacceptable all the way around. My husband is my partner. We are taking on parenting seriously, and if you don't think that starts at conception, and right down to choosing a doctor perhaps you have it wrong.
