For years the…read morehickory location was great! they were always friendly and it wasn't anything to just drop by being so convenient but , the past few years it's gotten worse with the unfriendly feeling the entire time I'm there. Sometimes they have a guy standing at the front door questioning why you're there never smiling once when you go in hahaha ‍. although I haven't run into the bouncer at the front door recently the lady working the front could at least act like she's not miserable every single second every single time I go in. If it's that bad go do something more fulfilling. Either way I've decided not to go back to this location , the hickory location. I find it much less draining to just drive the extra miles to the granite falls location because they're more professional.

I went into the bank to open a second checking account, and was greeted at the door by a lady who didn't believe I had $25 to my name to even start an account. I then waited 20-30 minutes for the two ladies working there to figure out how to log-in to their computer (and no that is not an exaggeration). Finally, sitting down in the office the process to open a second account (as I already have one account with PNC) was excruciatingly painful. The lady helping to set up the account had no idea what she was doing, took 45 minutes to do what I should have done online in 5 minutes (hindsight is 20/20), and left me feeling like I was an unwanted leper. So in conclusion, I ended up with the wrong account type (which is partially my fault for not researching this before going to the branch, but it didn't help that the lady believed account types like the Performance Select were simply for flexing and not for account benefits), and I wasted over an hour and a half of my life (and lost a few brain cells). I have heard good things about the Granite Falls branch though (although I have not personally been there), so I would recommend you try them instead.

The seller wanted to deposit the check in her account at this establishment. The bank teller named Kendra informed the seller she thought the check was fake and basically accused us of trying to pass a fake check to her. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We immediately called USAA and of course proved the check was real. Not a single explanation or apology was offered to us for being accused of fraudulent activity, In fact Kendra the bank teller refused to make eye contact with us or even remotely explain her actions. I really have no problem with a bank verifying funds, however the inappropriate and unprofessional manner that Kendra conducted herself was unacceptable. I would not use this credit union based on this incident. Very disappointed that people in customer service are this rude.

The second was actually a mistake. I tried to correct with no help from People's. This was on May 1 & 2. I received a "provisional credit " for $24.00. WTF. What about the second transaction? NO FUNDS, NO MONEY TO PAY ANYTHING (can't as much as EAT). Yet, I can logon on the internet, they show fine. Zero balance because THEY TOOK THE LAST OF IT FOR SOME UNKNOWN FEE ($2.), declared the account INACTIVE with a ZERO balance, all WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION TO THE ACCOUNT HOLDER! They told me I get to start 'the process' all over again with a "new" account. Maybe the case, but it sure won't be with this bank.
