When we got back, we prepped everything including stuffing and when we pulled out the chicken, we could smell it was rotted off the flesh. It was slimy and the smell took over the kitchen. How they didn't catch that is truly mystifying. It was upsetting when we are about to cook our Christmas dinner. When my mother called and informed them of the rotten chicken, they said bring it back with a receipt. They weren't bothered by the fact that they sold rotten chicken and didn't apologize or try to do right by a customer who has supported them for nine years. Their only concern was a receipt which they never provided. Needless to say, I suggested my mom file a report with the health department ( which she has now done) and I'm sharing the customer service experience here. Accidents can happen which I understand. Terrible customer service is a whole other thing. I personally, I would never shop here on that merit alone. If they can't be bothered to fix the issue, I can't be bothered to spend money there. I tried a peice of it, was extremely sour and tasted like it had gone off a long time ago. I did notice that the brand new package of headcheese was not opened for my request, so the old sour small peice behind the new one was sliced up and given to me. Very disappointed, this will be the first and last time I buy from here.

The gifted offering was directed primarily to her Mom -- definitely the one who knows, and is able to really savour the distinctive flavours of these kinds of meats. And she sure did. It is a sausage favourite of mine, and I really enjoyed their product - creamy in texture, and rather 'lighter' in flavour. I could enjoy that sausage often, and in so many ways. At this time, that included one taste of sweet & savory, open-faced sandwiches -- made with slices of weisswurst sausage on cinnamon rolls -- tried before the sausage was gone.
