I don't understand how every time I go I never get the right order. They ask me between Garlic or cinnamon sticks and I tell them and they always get it wrong. I ask them for a certain cut and get that wrong. They ask me the name I SPELL IT OUT FOR THEM and they always add extra letters in it for fun. I'm over it and not happy with my service. read more

One of the best T County pizza places, Penso's sauce is what makes the pizza. They have the standard Ohio crust and also offer some pizzas with a thin crust as well. The breadsticks are also good. The pizza at Penso's is different but very good. First the crust has a crispy on the outside with a good chew and nice flavor. The cheese is under the sauce, so you can not see it, but there seems to be a good amount of it. The sauce is good flavor with a little bite to it and there is a good amount of toppings and the sausage isn't ground up too small. The only thing holding them back is the price and the fact they are cash only, otherwise they are five stars. Knowing all the variables it is still worth paying the extra versus eating chain pizza! If I could give zero stars I would. Note to Penso's management: train your staff not to argue with customers about misunderstandings and incorrect orders. The crust was tough and chewy. I no longer live in the area but pizza shops which do not have basil or tomato as toppings boggles my mind. The next time we are in the area visiting family we will find other more customer-centric places to spend our pizza dollars. read more

The only pizza in Dover. My nephew, Ian, said this was the best. Always ask the kids!! They know. In this part of OH, pizza is white bread, ketchup, and some white cheese. This was awsome! The pepperoni was back to back, not a slice here and there. Crust was chewy and tasty. The sauce was a very good mix between sweet and tart. All will love this sauce. They have about 5 locations and I have been told that they are different. I do not like that. It is family owned and they all have their own opinions. this family has been making the best pizza for decades........the Dover location is the best. On the weekends there is always a long wait but worth it if you want the best pizza. They only bad thing about this place is that they are closed on Mondays......their sauce & crust are amazing. I hope that the kids and grandkids keep the tradition up and don't change a thing. Penso's has great pizza. For an XL pizza with 4 toppings its usually around 22$ My thoughts on this are if you can't afford to eat out, DON'T! The XL pizza will easily feed 5-6 adults. The main thing here is that they put their cheese under the sauce, so if you want cheese on top you have to ask for extra, we always do, and their pizza really is delicious. The crust has great substance to it, I personally like the fact that is has a bit of a chewiness to it. So good. Closed Monday and Tuesdays, and open the rest of the week I think after 4pm. read more
