There is a one-time activation fee that I believe is $25 and it includes a lock (if you need it) that has keys. Otherwise you can use a combo lock as well. When signing up you either need a insurance or pay for their plan which is an additional $9/month. The location is very easy to find and Gerry was super nice getting everything set up and explaining all the processes. He was able to put some bottom pieces to lift up my storage (since in cardboard boxes) since the floor gets cold. Gerry clearly walked through how to open and close the locker. They mentioned that they do daily checks on the units for security and will call you if something happens. There are also cameras dispersed. Overall, it was super pleasant and efficient experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a space for storage!

The scheduling folks at U Haul said they'd drop it off at 9:30AM, and that the directions we gave them were clear, and they would have no problem dropping it off. We ended up getting transferred to customer service that wasn't the Verona store, who said it was on the way after the 7-11AM time range had passed. They did not drop off the box until __. At that specific period, I worked for United Moving Systems in the Seattle region. When times were really busy, we needed to rent additional trucks. For this we went to Ryder and Penske. As time progressed I came to find that countless times, we were sent out to unpack a broken down U HAUL truck alongside a busy mountain pass such as I-90, or down along the waterfront among the shipyards, or even neighborhoods. This was something that my more seasoned co workers informed me as being so common an occurrence I myself, would have to rent a truck for a cross town move, when my sister needed assistance. She balked at the marginally more costly price, saying what many would say: U Haul is $29.99 or some seemingly bargain price. I replied that in my experience with United, renting a U Haul was a gamble that might be a bargain, or it would cost 2-3 times in financial terms, but also, much more importantly, having to unload and repack a truck at least one more time! She paid, or rather her husband begrudgingly wrote a check and mentally confirmed I wasn't to be called next time. I was called next time. Twice. When they moved to their first exquisite home, along the Seattle facing bluff overlooking The Spokane Street Bridge. The bargain priced truck was DOA somewhere miles from its destination, and not far from its origin. Fully loaded with everything they owned. Which because they were young, no children, was pretty limited. But I had to find a Penske and arrive at the location and with a friend, unpack and repack the belongings and in turn take them to the destination and assist, as a good brother would do. I was young, it was actually somewhat enjoyable. A couple years later, I received the second call, but by this time I was in Wisconsin and she wanted to know if I "had a friend" or at least a number where I rented my previous truck. He looks at me, and I'm uncertain if this was a statement or a question. So I again ask if they could possibly do this, and if today was possible. "We don't have any scheduled." "So, you than have open time," I ask, to do one today?" "Install a trailer hitch?" "Yeah, that's what we're talking about, installing a trailer hitch." "Our hitch guy is off today, he's been relocated to another location." "Ok, can you maybe tell me the number, so maybe I could drive there and get it done, or is he off today, or do you know?" As I sit here in the parking lot writing this I see dozens of truck, trailers and storage vaults scattered about three of the trucks have the hoods up and no one is servicing them, but apparently broken down. The parking lot is littered with garbage, and I'd bet that not a single truck is less than 10 years old or under a quarter million miles. Now I just spotted a police car across the way. I previously noticed it pass me earlier, but as I sit and approach closing this I'm wondering if that dolt might've call the cops on me, as it appears I'm loitering. LOL. Yup. Scheduled to rent a truck the day before I needed it, on a weekend. Normally I go through U-Haul…read morefor truck rental, but when they didn't have anything available last minute, I needed to check my options. Penske was there to save the day! I reserved a 12' truck. I was just moving a new sectional couch from the store to my home, so I didn't need something huge. $34.49, plus tax and mileage was estimate. When I arrived, I was told that the 12' was not available as it had something wrong with it and was being worked on. They bumped me up to the next size at no additional charge. It came with a loading ramp which was very helpful. I was charged $274.53 initially. This included a $150 deposit, and 50 miles. I returned the truck, and my charge was then adjusted to $49.82, as I got the deposit back, and had only gone 13 miles. Not bad! The gentleman I worked with at the office when picking up and returning was very nice. He explained everything very clearly and I felt good about the overall transaction. I will probably use Penske again in the future. It's closer than the U-Haul I typically use, and the pricing it pretty similar.

It was very unexpected of them to be so kind and concerned about the quality of the job. So I have chosen to change my rating from three stars to five. "Badger Brothers Moving of Madison Wisconsin was the company I chose to pack all my stuff from two bedroom house and then load it into a UBF trailer, and I was impressed that they were able to get it all into a 15 linear foot volume with 8 feet width and 9 feet height. There were two workers and it cost me about $2700. I would recommend writing a check because then you save several percentage points from using a credit card. I was told I would get a receipt in my email but I never did so I'm glad I wrote a check each time. The men who did the hard work were friendly and clean and personable and respectable. The only major drawback was that although they said they would be using tiedown roping and that they would have on hand ratchet straps to keep everything from shifting, they did not use either one at all anywhere and so stuff shifted and caved in transit because the trailer's bulkhead is not designed to keep things in place and I told them that. So an antique wardrobe got a hole in its crown. I think I can just patch it but still it's pretty crappy that they said that they would keep things from shifting and then they didn't even try. It could just be that they used the stretchy plastic cling film tape multiple times as a replacement, I don't really know, but I think that it's bad that they lied about it. I'm hoping that nothing else is super broken but time will tell as I unpack. I am also hoping to find the little pegs that are needed to hang shelves in bookcases because no one gave me a pack of "don't lose this it's hardware that's important" do dads. Oh, and the crinkled rice paper lampshades that go on my IKEA floor lamps got demolished because of everything shifting in the trailer. Apparently they didn't think to take them off and collapse them to put them in a box. For almost $3000 they could've done a whole lot better with just a little bit more care. For that reason, I can't totally recommend them unless you watch them like a hawk the whole time."

My job, even though time and date were confirmed, was somehow scheduled for a different day. Movers did not show as expected that morning. When I called the office, the issue was addressed and George and Hez were quickly assigned to my job. They arrived with smiles, hustle, and genuine care and concern for me and my belongings. Truly amazing guys. While the mix up with my move date and time was less than excellent, the customer service that happened in that moment to ensure my move happened that day made me a fan. It's not a flawless move that always makes people loyal customers. It's what happens to customers when things do not go as expected and what the company does to remedy the situation that creates forever fans.
