Hof Siebenschon In January 2017, my family and I stayed for…read more10 days at the Hof Siebenschon in Rudersdorf, Germany. Let me first say our entire experience was very positive. The owner, Frau Walter, was exceptional and very accommodating. I had read the previous reviews of this vacation apartment and they were very good, but I believe the people rating were likely European. My family and I are from the United States and I think I am the first American to provide a rating. We have stayed in Germany and other vacation apartments in the recent past so I do have some perspective in my opinion(s) regarding German hotel/vacation apartments. The first day was very special for us because we were already excited and we went straight to Siebenschon directly from the airport. Ms. Walter met and spoke to us and was very gracious. She provided a genuine appreciation we were staying at her vacation apartment. The room we rented was excellent. It was very clean and neat and the decor was up to date and modern. For European standards the bathroom was very spacious and it had updated plumbing. Other than one light bulb not functioning over the stove, all of the electrical devices worked very well especially the heating system. Our room was upstairs and there were many sky lights that provided natural light throughout the entire apartment. The water for the sinks and shower was very strong, but after a long period of hot water use, I have three young girls who like to take long showers, the hot water will cool, but that was a minor issue. As the week progressed, we had multiple discussions with Frau Walter and she was very pleasant. She was extremely helpful when we had request(s) and was very kind to my children and my wife. One of the very nice aspects of this smaller sized vacation apartment is it has its own parking. It is nice that we did not have to park on the street and an added piece of security is the outside motion lights for the steps and the parking lot. I found that very well thought out and a nice attention to detail. Additionally, it snowed several times during our stay. Every morning before the sun rose, the sidewalks and parking lot was shoveled clean. It did not matter if it snowed 1 or 3 inches, the lots were clean before sunrise. As you can tell I was very pleased with our stay. This information is for Americans who wish to stay at this business. I said earlier, I have some experience staying in German hotels/vacation apartments. Please be prepared the bed mattresses are somewhat thin. This is normal in vacation apartments in Germany. However, if you have orthopedic issues such as back or hip problems, this could be uncomfortable for you. Also, Wi-Fi is available here at the apartment, but its signal is sorely lacking. Both of these issues are very typical for vacation apartments in Germany. Experience has taught us to invest in a mobile Wi-Fi service. It is an additional cost, but it will make your internet usage less frustrating. I cannot provide a better recommendation for this vacation apartment. If you are visiting from the United States and you wish to stay in a clean and well run vacation apartment, you will be very happy staying at the Hof Siebenschon.

Hello my Yelpies,…read more First time in Berlin, my parents and I came from Poland Warsaw for a nice long weekend. The hotel had a gran entrance, it definitely gives you a big welcome. The lobby was beautiful, very easy to walk around with people who doesn't speak the language. We made an reservation for 2 rooms, the receptionist were super friendly and did their best to give us some ideas on what we can do during our times here. We were located on the 6th floor, the room is quiet tiny but definitely very comfortable. We are only planning to stay for 3 days 2 nights this is definitely good enough. I personally care the most about the bathroom when it comes to hotels, I was pretty pleasant with their cleanliness of the bathroom. Everything was neatly put away, and there was no lip sticks on the cup or anything disgusting like that. I've got to say their breakfast is one of the best breakfast I've had at a hotel. They have many different choices, eggs they have 4 different kind of style. I must say you have to definitely try their sausage, it was cool to perfection and wasn't too salty. Everything was super organized it was definitely one the best experience. Even after 3 days I was still thinking about their delicious breakfast. I'll definitely come back in the near future if I'm ever in Berlin again! Overall, 5 stars for service, 5 stars for food and drinks, 5 stars for cleanliness and 5 stars for environment and decoration. definitely suggest this hotel for anyone who's in the area.

Berlin has been in the 80s the last few days. Being on the fourth floor isn't helping. The first time I called reception about it the lady recommended I open the windows. I tried that but it didn't help much. This morning I tried calling again. They sent a repairman up but it hasn't helped much either. They have made no effort to offer me and the person I'm here with another room or give some other type of restitution. Also, as others have said the internet is not very good. Even the upgraded internet is barely there for anything more than checking email. I will say this for the place. It's clean. For all the money this place costs, I think we could have done better elsewhere. The restaurant downstairs has extraordinarily high prices but at least there are a few other places within walking distance to go eat. Make sure to bring Euros because not all the places that say they accept credit cards take American credit cards. Some do. Some don't. It's hit and miss. I hope this review helps someone.

For the same price as a basic, bland hotel room I got to stay in a piece of art for several nights that was 5 mins walk from the Brandenburg Gate and not much further to the Tiergarten. Now let's get something out of the way, yes the UBahn goes right past it. If you want a quiet hotel then this is not from you. For me, well I live near a main road so hardly noticed it. The courtyard was lovely to sit in and the finches nesting in the ivy muffled the sounds of the city. Half the building is listed (it dates back to 1825) so there is no lift on that side but you can request a room on the side with a lift. I had a single room with shared bathroom. The bathroom was always spotless and I hardly met anyone else in there. I found the receptionists, especially Ryan, and cleaners very friendly and helpful.

The check in clerk was super friendly, helping give us directions on the map to the Reichstag (as we had tickets for that night), and since it was pouring when we were leaving he even gave us umbrellas to use! Later that night when we returned STARVING he was able to point us in the right direction for several local eateries that were a great fit. Our room was on the 2nd floor, which is two stories up as Germans don't count the main floor. No elevator, so we lugged our luggage up four flights (at least the stairway was nice and wide and very interesting so that helped!). Our room was everything I was hoping for - big huge door to go in (not a standard room door), and our room actually was 4 separate rooms. You walked into a "living room" with a couch, desk, reading chair, and two huge windows. To the left was a bedroom that slept 2, that was just a bed, nightstands and another huge window. To the right of the living room was a room with just a toilet/sink, and a room with a sink, bath/shower. The bathtub was nice and deep - I was so sad that I didn't have time to take a long bath to relax! Bathroom fixtures were nice and current, and everything was clean, and well done. The couch folded out into a bed for my son - the only complaint was that the living room windows didn't have any shades, so first thing in the morning he was working on a suntan (bedroom window had a nice dark shade, and it had a door to the living room so you could keep the room very dark.) The view was of the courtyard, and the courtyard was just beautiful. Wifi was free and it worked very well. Our room was very "elegant" with several old world portraits - and if you looked closely each one had something quirky painted in (like sunglasses, a headwrap, etc.) Loved it! The hotel is very well located too - maybe 5-10 minute walk to Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, etc. so it made sightseeing a breeze. There are two 24-hour parking garages within a block or so, which made parking very easy too. When we were out later at night finding a restaurant I felt very safe. I loved the quirkiness of the hotel, and everything about it - I would go back in a heartbeat!

We had a room on the quiet back of the building (Leipzigerstrasse is a very busy street). The only noise we heard was from the person above us because the floors are not carpeted. Our room was large for a city hotel and well organized with a safe and a Nespresso machine. The room was clean but housekeeping was a bit spotty during our stay. The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was included in our room rate and it was a fantastic buffet. The location was not at city center, but accessible to the city center with short subway or tram rides. Breakfast was decent with the good shakshuka, fried eggs, British beans, and charcuterie. The pastries and breads did not look as fresh, but there were some fun jam flavors, such as peach-passionfruit. There was a Turkish tea station with many tea varieties. Coffee drinks all came from a machine though. 1 star off: The hotel was not well ventilated. The man who serviced the rooms on my floor had significant body odor and his body odor lingered in the hallway. When I entered my room, I had to quickly close the door to keep out the body odor. I overnighted in Berlin and this hotel conveniently was within steps of the U metro line. Also walking distance to the Berlin Wall Memorial, and several restaurants around. The spa is super busy and I was thankful to get a 30-minute massage scheduled for the night I stayed over. It was all they had, but my super deep-tissue massage was worth it. Staff was super friendly, massage was good, and they set up some hot tea at a table for you once your service is over. You also have the option to relax in the expansive heated pool area. Checking in/and out was a breeze and I would definitely consider staying here again whenever I am in Berlin. Would definitely like to take advantage of some more of the spa/hammam services. To note: If you are going to the spa, you change into the robes that are in your room closet, and take the spa elevator down. That is one busy elevator though, cuz it took forever!
