The Seehotel seemed to be much more interested in servicing the organized groups they had staying at the hotel than they did any other customer.

I spent a week in Traunkirchen and stayed up the road at a friends home, but I ate many of my meals…read morehere. The food was always excellent and the servers friendly and attentive. The first night, I arrived in town rather late and had not eaten much all day coming from LA to Munich and then driving to Traunkirchen. The kitchen had closed by the time I rolled into town and they were just serving a few locals drinks at the Stammtisch. However, when I explained that I had not eaten for quite a while they nicely offered to make me a quick snack and through together a nice plate of bread, meat and cheese to go with my beer. Ohhhh, it tasted so good and my trip was off to a great start! Over the next week, I ate several breakfasts, lunches, and dinners here and enjoyed all of them. Besides the food, the location is beautiful and the town so quaint. I enjoyed the bar upstairs on evening and would highly recommed this fine place to any hungry, thirsty or sleepy souls!
