We selected Pension Aviano mainly for it's central location and unique charm. While finding the exact entrance into the hotel was a bit of a challenge, we did enjoy the rest of it. We had a room on the 3rd floor, overlooking the avenue below. In contrast to most U.S. hotels, we were able to open the windows and enjoy the sounds of Vienna below.
Our room was large, with sleeping accommodations for several people. The bathroom was modern and bright, although the step-up into the shower could be a challenge for some. We skipped in the in-house breakfast to venture out into Vienna so we really can't offer any review on the food.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped with transportation for sightseeing outside of town and even provided a wash & fold laundry service that kept us from spending part of our vacation in a laundromat.
The Pension Aviano isn't fancy or stocked with modern amenities, but it's a nice, pleasant hotel located right in the thick of Vienna. read more
