I've gotten a couple of tickets the last few years where I literally had the phone stopwatch on and headed back to add more quarters and BHAM! They have gotten me in a minute or two. So I leave without spending another nickel for months. With that rant out of the way, parkers beware but still visit. It's a safe place to shop, dine, walk, meander, window shop or take some time to chill in a local park.

Pete Hamill pitched in similarly last year. Mr. Rohde and Ms. Mulvehill are husband and wife. Their lives were hijacked when Mr. Rohde, a New York Times Reporter, was kidnapped by the Taliban while on assignment in Afghanistan. It is definitely one that a lot of people don't use and don't know about. It's pretty gorgeous and is mainly used for University City, the students and people who work there, and will get you over the factories and river into the nice part of town, or the other way into downtown. The traffic isn't too bad because like I said a lot of people don't really know about it. It's safer than the Walt Whitman Bridge and probably the Ben Franklin Bridge. Unfortunately it's named after Oliver Platt, but you can't have everything.

It is an interesting bridge that, if coming from the south is a welcoming arena to the city. Albeit a confusing welcoming arena where people play vehicular leap frog with one another. It reminds me of a few bridges on the other side of the state where you are given a whole lot of shorter notice to change lanes to be where you need to be. It does offer stunning views of the city when driving into it, that is if you aren't the one driving. I was able to glance every so often to see things, but could not take it all in. The bridge carries traffic over the Schuylkill River as part of I-95. You can tell that it is a vital artery for traffic for the city, and from what I read, traffic was a nightmare before the bridge's completion. I will say that I am glad I do not have to take this bridge on a daily basis as I would probably end up hating it instead of appreciating it for the minutes I was on it.

I've only been in the house once, while most of my trips are just stops on my power walks through the neighborhood. There is a detached root cellar with old fashioned firing ports facing out...just the thing to keep curious Indians away.
