To the Residents of British Columbia,
Before doing business with Peninsula Towing, I encourage you to read through other reviews that echo a consistent theme: poor customer service, particularly from the front desk staff and, regrettably, the owner himself. Unfortunately, my experience has been no different.
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding what I believe to be an unfair--and potentially unlawful--business practice by Peninsula Towing.
On June 15, 2025, my vehicle was towed by Peninsula Towing following a highway accident. However, the company made no effort to notify me of my vehicle's whereabouts until July 17--33 days later. During this time, I had no information about where my vehicle had been taken and no opportunity to retrieve it.
Despite this lack of communication, Peninsula Towing is now attempting to charge me more than a month's worth of storage fees. They have refused to reduce or negotiate the amount and have stated that they will not release my vehicle until the full charges are paid--effectively holding it hostage.
When I contacted them again today (July 24, 2025 at 11:30 AM), they remained unhelpful and unprofessional, refusing any form of assistance or compromise. To make matters worse, they escalated the situation by threatening to seize my vehicle entirely, despite this being only the second time they had attempted to contact me.
This behavior appears to violate the consumer protection standards set out in the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act of British Columbia. I believe the company failed to act with reasonable diligence in notifying me and is unfairly imposing fees during a time when I was unaware of my vehicle's location.
In light of this experience, I strongly advise others to avoid doing business with Peninsula Towing. Their lack of transparency, professionalism, and basic courtesy is deeply concerning.
To be frank, even a one-star review feels generous. read more
