I wish I had looked penguin pest control up on Yelp first, the reviewed speak for themselves! Clearly this is a scam they've been running for years!! I had a mouse in my house a few months back. I had never had a mouse before, so I was stressed and wanted some help. I called penguin pest control, who sent out the worlds weirdest guy. I knew exactly where it was (behind my dresser), as I could hear it at night. The guy was apparently very bad at his job. He did not move the dresser at all, just placed one cardboard cheap trap near it. He placed a few more cheap cardboard box like things around my house, I paid a ridiculous amount, and he left. Fast forward a few days later, mouse STILL there, right behind my dresser, cheap cardboard box things untouched. I couldn't sleep, I was so stressed hearing it. We finally moved the dresser out and purchased our own legitimate trap. The very same day we caught it with our OWN equipment. I thought oh well, expensive lesson learned, we won't call them again and let it go, right? WRONG! They have been harassing me for MORE money. I paid at the time of the "service", so I don't even understand why they keep sending me a bill. I have tried to call, and the most recent time the manager informed me they would no longer speak to me unless it was through certified mail!!!!! Like, what? Bill me for a service that really wasn't provided, continue to bill me, and then refuse to discuss or remove the charges?? This is a SCAM!!!!!!! Unless you want the world's creepiest dude placing cardboard boxes around your house and then billing you repeatedly, do NOT go here. It DOES NOT WORK, and they keep charging you!!! read more

Terrible company and owners. I signed a contract with Penguin because I expected their treatment to work considering they charge the most of any pest control company in town. The first treatment did not work so they came out a second time and it again, did nothing. My parents have had the exact same problem with their treatments not working so I told Penguin that I was not happy with their services and I was no longer going to use them to spray my house. I had paid them for each treatment that failed but they still sent me to collections for the "discount" not being paid since I did not want to continue using their services that DO NOT WORK. BEWARE! The owners are crooks and their product does not work. Look at the other reviews. They have a trend of upset customers. Better Business Bureau will be my next stop..... I have since found another company that charges half the price with treatments that actually work. I was told it would be $75 by the gentleman who came to my door. I informed him that I would be moving in under a month, and simply wanted to do one service for the woman buying our home. Must of slipped his mind that I would be charged another $150 for not doing another service. This makes their service an outrageous $225. Their "technician" never entered the crawlspace, or went in the back yard. He showed up, sprayed the front patio, then got where he could in my cluttered garage and left. He was there less than 15min. Considering I had asked them to treat for wasps, he never got a ladder out, or set foot on the roof. This is not a $225 service. read more

CARELESS AND APATHETIC. Penguin Pest Control came to our home to restock rodent bait stations. While removing a particular bait product, they managed to drop some of the bait on our property. One day later our dog found and consumed the bait. Concerned, I called the company and they reassured me our dog would be okay and might have an upset stomach for a few days. Poison Control and our Veterinarian felt otherwise, noting real concern for internal bleeding and organ failure due to the active blood thinner in the product. A trip to the vet and $300 later, I followed up with the pest control company in hopes they would own their error and help correct the situation. They instead offered one free visit and upgraded metal bait stations (even though our dog tampering with the bait stations was not the issue). What I've learned: Don't trust your pest control company to know how lethal poisons will affect your animals. And don't expect Penguin Pest Control to give a damn when they are at fault. read more

I can not recommend this company to even the most desperate in need of pest control. Their services are overpriced and sold as "plans". I wanted to have my house in Crested Butte sprayed for spiders, so I hired Penguin for a service. Little did I know that I was signing up for a reoccurring service plan that is impossible to cancel, despite me moving to a location that Penguin will not service. It is also worth mentioning the customer service is some of the worst I've ever had. They have never followed up with me regarding my service nor did they ever answer or contact me after I have tried to cancel multiple times. Most notable of all- the service I received from them did not help resolve my spider issue. read more

Worst company I've ever worked with. I normally don't write reviews but felt I needed to share my poor customer service experience to save other people the trouble. I've used this company for the past few years and never had a problem. But a few weeks ago I had them come and spray as I always do in the spring, the bugs after that were AWFUL! So they came and re sprayed, and again the amount of bugs I found in my house alive was unlike anything I've seen. And I didn't have a problem before the first spray. I called to see if I could be refunded, they told me I needed to wait two weeks. It has now been over a month since the first spray. They then told me I needed to pay THEM a cancellation fee of $126! After my service was awful! It was awful customer service and they were extremely rude after I've been a very consistent customer. I would not recommend them to anyone, please be careful before using this company, they are only concerned with the money in their pocket. Definitely not the satisfaction of the customer read more

We were with Mountain Pest Control which was sold to Penguin early this year. My service provider is Huba! He is very good at his job and educated about the bugs and what the products offer. I have chemical issues and hate poisons. We keep up the service regularly to do the least damage to other bugs that are necessary such as Praying Mantis using bate mostly. Once in the late fall we do a spray outside the perimeter of the house. Keeping things under control is the most important. We are very please with the service!
